Remember you can plant diagonally to cards (would have helped with first terrain card Mike planted) and the free action of spending 3 sprouts for 2 soil (Nick had a blue ability to trade 1 soil for 3 sprouts so this could have helped with soil needs after satisfying the fauna card for sprouts).
Absolutely love this game!!! Our first game was a 4 player game, even with teaching how to plate we got it in just under two hours and the final point tally had all 4 players within 5 points of each other. Awesome game, loved watching you guys play it!!!

A friend of mine bought this one at Origins last week, along with a set of 5 grid playmats they were selling with it. The 5 player group of us played it twice. It reminds me of a blend of Race for the Galaxy (shared action selection, card searching, tableau building) and Wingspan (many scoring opportunities), but without a set number of turns like that of Wingspan. Fun game and would gladly replay. Not a gateway game, though, because all the iconography and reading would likely intimidate casual gamers. However, it would definitely get to the table with an experienced gaming group. I give it an 8 out of 10.
This playthrough convinced me to buy this game!

Thanks for the playthrough. The banter alone is worth the watch, but I enjoy viewing Earth being played as there is a lot of thought process and actions triggering other actions, so it's good to see a playthrough at least once.

I’ve been waiting for this !!! Been playing it a good bit lately and liking it a ton. My only negative might be that I wish the extra end game scoring cards came from a separate deck It seems swingy if a player get two or three more than someone else. Thanks a ton for the video
Great playthrough as always, very entertaining to watch. I've got my own copy, and it is so satisfying to play, that great back and forth of resources is just so good. I'm middling at this game, but never mind losing (except against the AI :P) because you always seem to end up with a satisfying score.
Sometimes I think we are on the same wavelength... On Saturday we played 2 games; Earth and Azul and then this week you covered Azul and Earth :-)

Interestingly, if Nick had scored second on two more fauna cards, it would have given him an additional 22 points and they would've ended up tied at 225.

I wasn’t aware you could skip the abilities on the tableau board. I was under the impression if you did not/could not activate an ability then that blocked you from moving to the next available ability in the tableau, no?
We have never heard of any ability being mandatory in that game so it would be weird if the tableau was specifically different but it’s definitely possible that we’ve just played the game wrong
Any thoughts on higher player counts, like 4-5?
haven't played it at those counts yet so not sure!
