For this week's #photoshop #speedart, I wanted to focus on a character, a #samurai warrior who stands guard over futuristic dystopia of neon lights and dizzying heights. A piece like this is always a challenge as it requires a lot of detailed sculpting and blending techniques.

One thing I love is watching how you have an idea for your composition, decide it's not quite working, and change it. Great work as always.

What I'm finding interesting is that in just about every Photoshop compositing youtube video I've seen, they speak of working non-destructively; and in *this* video... it appears you are working quite destructively. I suppose that just comes with years of practice, and knowing where you can take more and more risks.

Thanks!! With speed art I get destructive, it's a little more risky but like you say the more you practice and grow in confidence, the less mistakes you make. With client work then it's back to folders, layer titles and masks.

Amazing as always mate. I love the fact that the final version of your art is sometimes different than the end of the speed video. It's good that you dont show every single step and sometimes keep the ending off the video because it adds to seeing the final piece.
