FDNY responds with so much manpower and equipment, there is no fire that would even stand a chance against them. Better to have extra equipment and manpower standing by in case you need it, than not to have it when you do.
They knocked it down quick at 2:30 but it lit up again and the Chief reported the main body of fire is out at 3:59. The main body of fire (visable flames) filled the interior entrance at 3:59. That's a fire in my book and it's not under control until visable flames are gone.

The FDNY!!!! At 0:20 you can see hoses have been pulled. That means they have been there awhile already. That means this fire in that front room should have been out before the video even started. In fact, water should have been flowing in the first 30-40 seconds after arrival with that room extinguished 10 seconds later. Even if the wheels stopped at the 0:20 second mark, the fire in that front room should have been out by the 1:00 minute mark. With that front, first floor room extinguished, they could have moved through the structure soaking the burning material and pushing all the gasses out the back which was self-venting. Let's see how they do. 1:25 water started to flow with the fire out in 10 seconds. Remember, that front room should have been out at the 0:20 mark. Look how much that fire spread in that 1:15.

They have them but why use that when you can use a couple of hand lines? You can clearly see the line begins to knock down the fire from the exterior and they make a smooth transition in. Line goes in fire goes out simple as that.
@@nickpruiksma6070 That fire in the first-floor room should have been out before we saw the house at the 0:20 mark. It took them 1:15 more to get to that point.
How wide do you think the street is? The first due Ladder Trucks are supposed to be positioned IFO the fire building. Each Engine is supposed to secure a hydrant. In order to utilize a deck pipe at this fire where would you position the Engine?

That's one bad ass ladder truck. They oughta use that to knock the rest of that fire out.
Difficult access for C and D sides. Pretty fast first knockdown considering the problems.
Saving the foundation in FDNY

This is why the FDNY is simply the best. Fast water, inside immediately, quick knockdown, JOB DONE.
