Honestly, lmao. Though, as a Nordic person, I think that he probably is fluent but struggles with speaking on the spot. I mean, I read and write academic texts in English with little problems but when it comes to speaking, I sometimes feel like I don't know English at all haha. It doesn't help that us Nordic people are a bit socially awkward
His English is very good, but you can tell he still has trouble navigating it, especially when he's extra tired lol
But then his brother is fluent and can add a British accent lol. I love how Mads is like "meh good enough"

I watched the new Fantastic Beasts movie for the first time 2 1/2 weeks ago just for the hell of it, and then I watched it again this past Friday because I wanted to rewatch Mads’ performance in it, and now I’m 5 episodes into season 1 of Hannibal, and I’ve read so much fanfiction. I love this adorable man!
I loved Mads' performance in the new Fantastic Beasts too. I'm thinking of going again for my birthday.
