Honestly I think the future of the talk show format is gonna be overtaken by this podcast style casual conversation between people about their work. I find it far more interesting, fluid and lacking in the artificiality you find with most shows. Also avoids the pitfalls of hearing the same questions being asked all the time.

Probably because Casino Royale was his only good Bond movie, having an entire Fleming original novel to work from. The rest have been drab, dreary and pretentious shyte with the same regurgitated plot points (ie, Bond leaves the service for some reason then has to be asked back because of a big terrorist, obligatory parkour chases and Bond always covered in sh*t and scrapes and a tacked on torture scene etc..). That's why he said he'd rather slash his wrists than do another Bond movie after Spectre because he knew it was one of the worst Bond movies ever made. I've never really been able to get over the fact that he looks like some short Russian henchman or grizzled Norwegian fisherman rather than 007. The women at my work call him "Goblin Bond" 😂

Then at around the end Will finally asks if Hannibal is in love with him, and the answer we get as the audience was extremely intricate. Alot of things werent cleared up in Hannibal but the relationship between Hannibal and Will gave depth to the condition of relationship between Men. Mads is a great actor & he did a damn good job playing Le Chiffre who’s still the best villain that Craig’s Bond has faced. The other villains all seemed a bit too comical/looney to believe. Mads’ Le Chiffre was the only villain that gave a realistic sense of danger & threat to Bond’s life. He’s the only 1 to have ever cornered & gotten Bond into such a helplessly vulnerable, threatened position & to physically torture him. No other villains of the whole franchise did what Le Chiffre did to Bond.

Casino Royale is not only the best James Bond ever, it's also an excellent movie.
That first scene of Casino Royale is Daniel Craig chasing the French Parkour Artist Sébastien Foucan. It's dope. From that scene on, Craig rose the James Bond Saga to the next level of physicality. Unlike all other actors, he makes it really easy to believe he can kill you in no time.
MIkkelsen makes is the perfect vilain too. And of course, that scene with Eva Green in the train is the key to untangle the Bond Psychology

Two of the *finest* actors on this planet trading stories of their work together in Casino Royale, and more... priceless.
When the trailer of Sir Daniel Craig as Bond first came out for Casino Royale years ago, I *yelled* as if I was at a Rugby game watching the All Blacks! I hadn't even seen the film but it was SO clear to me immediately from just the trailer... I turned to my ex and I said, "THERE, that's Bond...THAT'S Ian Fleming's Bond, the way Fleming wrote him in the books!" Because we, who had been watching the franchise for years, had never seen THAT Bond! Not since George Lazenby had played Bond a single time, with Dame Diana Rigg, in 1969's On Her Majesty's Secret Service. Now, don't misunderstand me, I adore some of the other actors who've played Bond, but they weren't *Fleming's Bond* and as a writer, what Fleming intended when he created the character of Bond upon whom the entire franchise is built, has some meaning for me.
How awesome to hear Herre Mads Mikkelsen talk about Craig, the two of them meeting, and how they both dealt with the new experience of being in this huge franchise together. Craig is also the second celebrity to rave directly to Mikkelsen about the amazing performance he gave in Vinterberg's masterpiece, Another Round, nominated March 15 for Best Intl Film and Best Director for the upcoming Oscars. Last week, famous director Guillermo del Toro Gómez spoke over Zoom with Vinterberg and Mikkelsen, praising the film, telling them how much of a cathartic effect the movie had on him and how much he enjoyed it and thought it was exceptional international filmmaking. I don't feel out of line agreeing that it is an astonishing, life-affirming film and Mikkelsen is at his very best in it. I hope the film takes both categories in which it was nominated. Mikkelsen has taken over as Grindelwald in FB3 - FB5, and despite the upset that precipitated it, I believe it's perfect casting that the studio missed their mark on 4 years ago ahead of filming FB2: Crimes of Grindelwald. Mikkelsen joined the cast outside London in January (FB3 is currently filming).

It sounds like you have mostly seen the US content he's been in, which is understandable. I suggest you explore more of his filmography, especially his Danish films, in which he often plays quite different roles than what you seem to be familiar with.
      I would suggest:
      The Hunt
      Adam's Apples
      Flickering Lights

I’d never heard of Mads before CR, but he was excellent in it. So glad he’s in so much more now!

Fabulous, so nice to see Daniel relaxed. Mads is just the ultimate human, so funny, gifted, kind and humble. Lovely conversation. So glad 'Another Round' was recognised for being a superb film.
