I’ve not ever seen Daniel as enthusiastic when it comes to talking about bond as he is here, he is purely enjoying reminiscing about making a film with another actor, it is very rare to see such honesty when it comes to actors and film making these days.
Probably because Casino Royale was his only good Bond movie, having an entire Fleming original novel to work from. The rest have been drab, dreary and pretentious shyte with the same regurgitated plot points (ie, Bond leaves the service for some reason then has to be asked back because of a big terrorist, obligatory parkour chases and Bond always covered in sh*t and scrapes and a tacked on torture scene etc..). That's why he said he'd rather slash his wrists than do another Bond movie after Spectre because he knew it was one of the worst Bond movies ever made. I've never really been able to get over the fact that he looks like some short Russian henchman or grizzled Norwegian fisherman rather than 007. The women at my work call him "Goblin Bond" 😂
Agree, Bond both made and ruined Craig. Look at him in the Layer Cake days. Casino Royale was probably a combination of nervous and excited energy. We all look back on these moments fondly.
One thing I always liked about Le Chiffre was that he wasn’t in control like other Bond villains have been. He was desperate, his life was in danger, and that made him a danger to 007. The perfect debut antagonist (:

The best movies in the Craig era are when everything is good, (villian, action, story, plot, cast) rather than when everything is bad (QoS and Spectre)

Craig seems like such a good listener, very involved in conversation. Btw can't believe how many years have passed, i remember watching it in shitty quality (recorded in the theater), loving it nonetheless and even making some sort of fan clips from that on Chris Cornell soundtrack
I really enjoyed Daniel Craig asking so many questions. Great conversation, both amazing actors. favorite part personally: everything from 13:25 onward. Also, really soothing to hear that even at this level of acting experience and skill, there are things that might seem daunting, and of course that that may be part of the lure!

Mikkelsen has taken over as Grindelwald in FB3 - FB5, and despite the upset that precipitated it, I believe it's perfect casting that the studio missed their mark on 4 years ago ahead of filming FB2: Crimes of Grindelwald. Mikkelsen joined the cast outside London in January (FB3 is currently filming).
Great comment!
@@toothless9081 Thank you ;)
What an example of authentic expression of mutual respect, willingness to learn from fellow professional, and spontaneity👏🏼!
Casino Royale is the best bond movie from almost all aspects. Best soundtrack, acting, writing, scenes etc. hell it had the record for most vehicular flips in air with a damn DBS.
Turns out Bond's torture was both actor's fetish LMFAO.
Mads Mikkelsen ages like fine wine.
It's weird seeing them together like this. Good actors
I wish this was longer. please do more of these.
I love that both of them have this cool, hard, tough look but out of character, both of them are like goofy dorks!
Actors
Fabulous, so nice to see Daniel relaxed. Mads is just the ultimate human, so funny, gifted, kind and humble. Lovely conversation. So glad 'Another Round' was recognised for being a superb film.
It is truly wonderful to see this reunion/recollection/conversation 15 years after Casino Royale. CR stunned me back in 2006, and watching them have so much fun, giving insights into their roles and how they felt at the time, is just so good.
I’d never heard of Mads before CR, but he was excellent in it. So glad he’s in so much more now!
You should watch the Danish masterpiece Flickering Lights (blinkende lygter)
you should watch Hannibal
Mads was such a badass in Netflix's Polar.
Mads himself is a badass so he just brings it with every character he plays
@@DocRobotnik Nah, I gave it a 2 out of 10 on IMDB. Could have been worse.
And I'm a Dane like Mads and love (almost) everything he has done so far.
@@anastasier Uhmm.. Have you not seen "The necessary death..."?
The Mikkelsen family has brought us two incredible brothers, two of the best arch-villains (Lars as as a live action Thrawn too please!), and two of the nicest guys when they aren't taking over the world/galaxy.
> Lars as as a live action Thrawn too please!
Boy, do I have news for you
Holy- was not expecting this reunion at all! A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.
These guys were so good in their roles it is almost surreal to see them as friends.
You should see Daniel’s brilliant reunion virtual chat with Javier (Skyfall villain), or that amazing bromance with Rami (from No Time To Die) - proof that the nicest people can play insane baddies!
My heart goes to these two men... They have class, they have poise, they have wit but most of all they have charm! Whoooo boy **fans self**
Imagine a movie with mads mikkelsen and cillian Murphy 😳
i’d kill to see that happen
🤯
daMN
OMG!
TWO great actors who respect one another.. sharin stories of work together/separately. very enjoyable. Thank you👍
Love seeing Daniel light up here. Clear he loves talking and reminiscing with Mads
Seeing them reunite literally made my day.
Hannibal is really good at playing Mads here
Honestly EVERYONE wants Hannibal season 4! Why is nobody picking it up?? I would if I had the cash
The TV Series finished at S3 because it had covered all the material in the Thomas Harris books. There is nothing for them to base a 4th season upon.
@@exvestis295 it’s possible for them to do the clarice starling narrative and/or the Hannibal early life narrative as well. There’s is easily an entire season they could do again they just dont want to
@@Tinkerbell0320 they had to avoid all of the due to copyright I believe they couldn’t get the green light from Harris or NBC or something, someone blocked them which is why we missed a huge chunk of the story.
@@moose5293 damn that sucks to hear. The ending of the second season is in the top three best tv show experiences I’ve ever had.
@@exvestis295 er, silence of the lambs?!!
The guys are so smooth, cool and so talkative off screen. Compare this to their characters in CR, both were silent dark, brutal and cold.
Exactly! I could not have said it better!
I love the mutual respect between them. Two great actors.
damn i remember how much of an impression le chiffre made that for me, it almost overshadowed bond
Mads has that effect 😁❤
Absolutely
Every character that Mads has played always sticks to the mind of the viewer. The fucking finesse that oozes from him.
Thanks, Variety! TH-cam is running out of Mads Mikkelsen videos to suggest me already.
"It was a great day for me with the rope. You probably not so much."
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lmfao he ended me 😂
@@dylana.9057 perfect comeback to that woulda been "well I was right in the end, the whole world knows that you done scratched my balls"
🤣🤣🤣🤣
It would be really cool if there was a scene in No Time To Die where Bond has a nightmare or hallucinates or something and we see him in a room with all his past villains, including Le Chiffre, Blofeld, and Silva. Would love to see Mads cameo in some way.
No Time To Die = all the fans are already dead by the time it comes out.
If you recalled the final scenes of Spectre, you can see all the past villains happening in Daniel Craig's 007 storyline.
Always forgetting Greene...
@@willnicholson18 It's James Bond.
Mads's charisma and presence in this film is really amazing. Best villain in a bond movie ever.
Mads is great, seems like a top man aswell. He brings Craig to his level
He's absolutely amazing
Absolute legends! I love that this is just a genuine conversation between the two rather than a formal interview or something
