A Tanzania Christmas Tree: A new family tradition

Linda has wanted to do more DYI things around the house, so with Tanzania Christmas time in full swing, she asked if we could make our own Christmas tree.
I was a bit uncertain about this originally, but as we made our way across the street to the lumber yard and started putting it together, we realized that we were having a blast.
Actually, making our own family Christmas tree each year will be a new tradition. I am sure some years it will look amazing and other years it will flop. But it is about the time together and creating something that you remember.
