Music from the final main story dungeon in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time, Darkness and Sky, arranged for solo piano.
Long time coming! This is probably the most famous dungeon theme in Mystery Dungeon history: the final climactic ascent up a decaying, crumbling tower to save the world! The main idea of Temporal Tower is of course the Time Gear theme, fitting since they are what keep the tower standing along with time itself. This also keeps consistent with the use of the Time Gear motif throughout this leg of the story. While Time Gear is a tune in 3/4, Temporal Tower modifies this into common time, following in the footsteps of a few other tracks, namely Dialga's Fight to the Finish. Notably, the Temporal Tower ostinato is an extension of the one in Time Gear, shifted a beat later.
A while back I'd thought of doing an ensemble arrangement for this track, but insaneintherain already has a quite superior rearrangement so I eventually went against it. Then after the popularity of the Hidden Land arrangement, I thought doing a piano cover again for both sections of Temporal Tower would be a good idea. Later I decided that Temporal Spire was distinct enough from Tower to justify splitting the arrangement which is how this ended up being made.
I went through a similar thought process as Hidden Land for this, down to the partner-player relationship I wrote in the description. However I felt like there was a bit more material to work with in Hidden Land, and because I've been burning through most ideas I have with the Time Gear motif recently I didn't really have much to give for this arrangement frankly... Though I made a much more dramatic "final burst of energy" finale where I go crazy with the Main Theme haha
and Synder, use your damn Flamethrower at the Bronzor(!!!), holy shit, it's Steel you'll destroy it instantly like what the f〼 hwhy are you using Swift agai.!?1/!
This is part of my Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers - Re-scored project, otherwise known as PMD: ExR. It's where I attempt to re-arrange all of the music in the Explorers games (and a few extra) in mostly chronological order!
This piece was originally composed by Arata Iiyoshi, Hideki Sakamoto, Keisuke Ito, Ken-ichi Saito and Ryoma Nakamura, and is the 64th track on the Sky Jukebox.

Oh man, I love this so much. I think this is one of the most ambitious arrangement of Temporal Tower.

Thank you very much! Though I'd have to say I think the jazz rearr from insaneintherain (th-cam.com/video/UsZJGFcrL70/w-d-xo.html) is a lot more ambitious cos he's playing everything as well by himself :o

Amazing how you can turn the speed up and hear the in-game track of this musical piece, it's a nice comparison when temporal tower is firm and steady or a crumbling mess, it also proves how when entering for the first time in the dungeon the portagonist pokémon are just bolting through floors to get in time to snap Dialga back to reality. Incredible.

Well worth the wait. I will keep on repeating that I love the personal touches you give to each piece; it makes them stand out so much against all of the other countless remixes and arrangements of this game's soundtrack and gives your arrangements a beautiful personality of their own.
I like the darker(?) take on this theme a lot, it really characterizes the exhaustion and sadness coming off the back of Groyvle's Sacrifice and the long trek that the final stretch of the game is. This arrangement reminds me a lot of Sky Tower from the first game in a very good way and I like that the tension lets up around the end of the piece to make you feel the adrenaline of seeing the peak of the tower come within reach. Amazing work!

Thanks! Exactly what I was going for! I did think about Sky Tower a little to help myself elaborate on the track a little more, because honestly Temporal Tower doesn't have as much for me to work with than say, Hidden Land, lol. I also thought back to Bespin's arrangement of it where he wrote little performance instructions at each section of the piece.

Amazing work, you are a true artist.
Sidenote I don’t think I’ve ever seen the annotation “taxingly” in a piano piece before!

      Thank you hahaha
I think today I wouldve used just "pesante" for that section honestly, or at least the Italian equivalent of taxingly

Wow, this is amazing. I was thinking I was gonna try and learn this during the first couple minutes cause I thought it was only 8 minutes cause of a loop, but then it kept going and my confidence in that slowly decreased. This is so imaginative though and really built on the theme.
