Your challenge is to play till you take Rome with a full stack of Legionaries
Classic Seleucid campaign start: 10-15 turns of stability, then pile-on from every direction. I imagine Parthia will attack at Seleucia in a few turns, then all our sacred traditions will have been fulfilled
This seems accurate.
I love how the Individual soldiers ethnicity matches the region recruited/replenished from.
I really hope that's kept in future titles.
The memories! I found you when you did a Greek campaign for like 9 episodes and switched to an Carthage campaign. And started my love of the Punic wars….. simpler times.
simpler times indeed brother.
Same time for me. Those campaigns paired with the old TW1 music lit a fire of love for history for me
Mercenaries: *Exist* Heir: 'I really need more troops, what should I do to get more troops and hey, we have a lot of money... Let's recruit some militia and see'
Great to see this, feels classic. Restore Alexander’s empire!
That music brings back so many memories
Diplomancy doesn't mean much in this game. If you share a border with another faction, it seems they will attack you within ten turns.
Not necessarily, some factions are more aggressive than others. But yeah if youre their only possible direction to expand, they likely will attack
Ah the RTW Seleucids. I still remember my first Seleucid campaign, where I found out that a Parthian cataphract could plow through 3 deployed militia hoplites in a city street head-on but not 4. Or was it that it plowed through 4 of them and the 5th stopped em? Better stack up five of em lol
oh, and in that battle, I had deployed their spears properly. It's just that cataphracts are no joke in Rome 1
This is my favorite Rome Total War campaign. Thanks for posting.
Wooohoo! New old series. Love returning to the classics.
The glorious selucids!!! Heres to a new series!
So stoked to see this in my feed!
Yes!!! Can’t wait for this series
Yey!! Nostalgic Rome with that sweet soothing music!
Currently in the middle of an Armenia Campaign, lots of fun but man do Horse Archers make the game easy mode even on the hardest difficulty.
They are significantly powerful in this game especially compared to newer games.
Damn, training units directly into your settlement garrison? This would be sick in Warhammer!
Oh nice, at first I thought this was one of your old Seleucid videos heir. One of my favorite factions with lots of units to choose from.
Very excited for this!
I played Seleucids, YEARS ago. It is a difficult campaign because you are being attacked everywhere. The key is establish bastions. One in Western Anatolia, one in Syria (your capital), and one in Babylon. Hold the line and build your armies while everyone attacks you. As you increase in numbers and wealth, you'll push out from the those bastions until you steamroll over EVERYBODY. Having hoplistes gives a huge defensive advantage, use it. You'll be at war with 3 or 4 factions. Take em down one by one, starting with the Parthians and Armenians, then Pontus, then Egypt. Before you know, you'll be fighting Carthage in Lybia and the Brutii in Greece.
Heir, you should build watchtowers to increase the situational awareness around your territory.
What a blast of nostalgia.
as a long time, first 100 subber, you have no idea how excited i am for this!
Reminds me of when I was a kid when I first started watching your Carthaginian campaign :)
Love the soundtrack of that game
Heck yes. This is my all time favorite TW campaign.
My strategy is to abandon Seleucia on Tigris, and instead focus on aggressively conquering Egypt first. Then I move to control in Anatolia, then in to Greece.
Thanks for the new campaign!
holy shit i forgot what this game actually looked like now its been years since i watched the old campaigns
Love it!
It will be a very slow short campaign if you reach Silver Shield Legionaries.
My favorite RTW faction.
Hoplites are great in settlement defence put them behind the gate when there is a ram otherwise block streets and u win everything
The challenge with the original is age.
The problem with the remaster is the UI was made so much worse.
I actually prefer the UI to the original now that I've gotten used to it
You should try to build towers on your borders to get better line of sight
Glad to see the start of a new historical campaign. Not a big fan of warhammer tbh
Nice.
If you have enough money, your generals can recruit mercenaries. You will need that now you are attacked from all sides.
Patchy Lives!
Pro tip (not really): Disband the peasants in Sardis, Tarsus, Damascus and Hatra. It makes a huge difference in getting those settlements up to large towns which makes them way easier to defend
In the trade negotiations I’m sure you have to demand map info back from them. I think you were just giving them out without receiving them back.
You started a Seleucid campaign during Chanukah? 8/8
You can use your fleet to take your diplomat places.
Oh I still love the intros, pity the map and factions are a bit uneven and unfinished. Seleukids were my favourite faction.
Phalanxes, cataphracts AND elephants!
Comment for the algorithm
Careful heir you selected the huge unit scale. Twrr isnt optimosed for that unit scale.
Bro u call urself HeirofCarthage but u seldom play Carthage.
That's why he's not SophetOfCarthage
Wow the path finiding is terrible
