    Warren. You are one of the best mechanics I've ever seen at work. And you live in some beautiful country there in Oregon. I and the wife came through that way on the way back from Sturgis 2 yrs ago. Nothing like riding through the desert at night with the stars out and fresh air.

    My 2006 6.0 has been rock-solid. One warranty turbo early on, glowplugs a couple of years ago, and the FICM last year, but all those things are add-ons - the base engine has been trouble-free.

    Hey Warren, my inverter will draw down my batteries after a full day left on. I try not to forget about it but you know what it's like when you get busy. I ran a hot lead from my welder battery to the truck battery with a Cat master switch in it. Truck batteries die, I fire the welder, flip the cat switch and let them charge. Saved me more than once!

    We used to party in a big open pit quarry! Trucks ,cars,tractors,motorcycles,three wheelers, and a keg of Genesee beer! Tear shit up and have a blast! Good times.

    Is it just me or, does Warren have the best "work crew" around? LOL
    It's amazing what "heat and cold" can do to help install and remove tight parts, such as "press on/off". Cheers :)

    Curious if you considered adding a 2nd smaller crane to help with the balancing and loading bulky heavy parts on truck.

    Darn it, I was really looking forward to see how you dealt with getting the wheel off! A neighbour of ours had a similar case where it expanded the casing but didn't break through. Think they used a grinder to shave it down.

    When I was working with a big international company they use an app to track maintenance on equipment, and things get checked off at regular hours, the maintenance manager can view what jobs are coming up what was done, and wasn't done, the biggest thing is they can plan maintance and make sure its actually done.
    we took that information and checked if the information provided by the manu was correct on main hours, and checked if hours should be changed for some tasks. some equipment stuck out like sore thumbs, always breaking down before they should, or had really high fuel usage, those units quickly got the chop.
    The other big thing is operators doing an actual walk around before firing stuff up, check oil, fuel, lube tires etc prior to getting going for the day they had an app for that too that runs on your phone.

    Is that the same front axle that was used on the 2950? I replaced the main seal between planetary housing and be knuckle on mine. It looks very similar. I have not been able to get mine to stop leaking. I replaced the bearings at well. Thanks for the info

    I’m searching TH-cam now for the video, “installing Bobcat turbo on my Civic”. I heated motor oil on the stove in my French frying pan with basket. It seemed like such a great idea since I could get the crank gear (air cooled vw bug BS) out with out fumbling with pliers and such. Later we discovered that degreaser spray and lots of Dawn did not get rid of all the engine oil flavor from those fries.....YUCK

    That bearing heater looks like a pretty slick rig. Did you used to heat them up in a frying pan with hydraulic oil? I'm kinda batting around the idea of getting one it tuff sometimes if you have x amount of money to upgrade tools figuring if you can justify it or keep doing the way you used to.

    Have you worked on any John Deere 750j engines? 1T0750JXPCD236654 (DZ003)
    PE6068L227664 (ENGINE SERIAL)
    6068HF485 (ENGINE CODE)
    I've been trying to source engine tools: timing pin, turning tool(JDE83 or similar) to put engine @ TDC.
    Would you have ideas as to how one would go about doing this with out these tools. Local Brandt dealer won't sell these tools, i called another dealer 5hrs away and the parts are 6-8weeks away. This engine has combustion forcing coolant out the overflow tank, so the head needs to come off. Any information would be appreciated, thanks.

    On the 2015 Ford use FoMoCo parts only or it will bite you in the ass. VVT sprockets, solenoids, & chain parts.

    In my opinion the only better F-150 would be a 2014 with the 6.2 gas, so hard to find for sale.

    • @ChristopherPaulBacon-m2l
      @ChristopherPaulBacon-m2l 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Na the 5.4 is better. I know what you're gonna say: they had spark plugs. That was true on the older ones but they fixed that issue in the mid-2000's.

    • @justastudentoftheworld3940
      @justastudentoftheworld3940 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      My 08 5.4 had the problem, besides the 6.2 has over 400 hp, the 5.4 330.

    • @ChristopherPaulBacon-m2l
      @ChristopherPaulBacon-m2l 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@justastudentoftheworld3940 Yeah you probably got a bad apple off the Ford tree. My friend never had any problems with his 04 new body so far, and my dad runs a bunch of 5.4s for his work. The 6.2 is probably a better engine for towing, though. I personally like the 09 and older Fords better, but I'm excited to see what the new 7.3 gas will be like.
