She wasn't singing, you could hear it slipping and breaking up. People like Stevo that weld everyday have an ear for that. Didn't sound like it was burning in good, stick may have been better for the heavier gauge metal, but that weld at the end sure looked good, always good looking welds on this channel, and this video shows how important prep work and grinding, cleaning, and getting your pieces ready to weld really is. A lot of times more time is spent on grinding to get good clean bare metal than the welding itself. Big Kubota fan here, and Massey too.
thanks for sharing the video if that was mine I would have welded it up with stick weld 7018. 7018 leaves the metal a little pliable doesn't make the weld so brittle so you don't get cracks
I think mine is rc something 72. Anyway it broke nearly the same spot yours did. my dealer replaced it no questions asked with stronger looking design it has smaller pan now but it looks much better Quality it was painted black instead of orange. No issues sense. when I was pulling around to load it up they had huge pile of broke orange stump jumpers in the scrap pile. Apparently it was an issue.
Bush hog brand is supposed to be one of the best. But I have had to replace two stumpjumpers because of faulty welds. The bush hog manufacturer rep told me that yes they knew they had a problem with some welds and they were sorry for the inconvenience. That's all nice but when you're down for one or two weeks cutting hay it can pretty much get ahead of you and then you're playing catch-up for the next month

Yeah weld conditions were not ideal. Filmed anyway to get it done lol. Needed bigger wire and more juice
