Oh yes, Ghost. This is pretty much the only song Tobias sings in that way. He normally sings super-clean. Ghost has everything from pop/rock (yes, honestly), prog and doom metal, and it will remind you of old-school music from '70s and '80s, but modernised and with super-intelligent lyrics. Three songs have been styled to sound like the '60s! 'Impera' is indeed an absolutely stellar album. Their masterpiece is probably the album 'Meliora' from 2015 (the song 'Cirice' won a Grammy), but 'Impera' is my current favourite. Ghost have announced a world tour starting April 2025, and we are hoping for a new album soon.
Actually the only song were Tobis sings with a growly voice. Otherwise he has a very beautiful singing voice. 🙂 But I love this song. One of the more heavier from Ghost. In the beginning of their career they were actually totally anonymous. It wasn't after a lawsuit in 2016 they became known to the public. But they still using their masks. They will not be Ghost without them. I will recommend Spillways or Watcher in the sky from their latest album. From an older album I would recommend Cirice, a song they won a Grammy with.
