I think people misunderstand his psychology here. He isn't annoyed or bothered. He probably feels awkward having such a pure and touching moment be televized, when that is something more intimate, and he might not know how to react. When you have really bad social anxiety and depression, you hear good you've done and your brain immediately says it's wrong, and you shutdown. But he's fighting through it to try to share the moment with the father, because he knows it's a really heavy one. He isn't being aloof, I would say. He's just not sure how to handle such a heavy moment. He still struggles like he always has, you know. He has just gotten better, but that doesn't mean it doesn't still eat at you.

This made me very happy. I know one day, I might actually meet Gerard Way, and I can thank him. He's the one that made me keep on living. "I am not afraid to keep on living, I am not afraid to walk this world alone." I love you Gerard.
As a male teenage fan, his songs also helped in some of my worst days that might be more worse. His music helped me to relate and understand that it's not only books and school life but there's a world outside of that. And understand things from others perspective and the value of literature and the people who teach this subject
I can imagine gerard thinking "holy shit I affected her that much? damn I should bring back mcr" like wow u could see he looked panicked at first like he did something wrong but then he realized it was good and he relaxed also that "thank you. very much" u could tell he appreciated what he said. A lot of people are wondering if gerard was uncomfortable or if he was touched and i will tell you that he was 100000000000% touched . It think he care to the realization then and there what an impact he has in people and his eyes never left that dad and I could see the sorrow and joy in his eyes and face ❤️❤️ Gerard way is something else
Beautiful true content, music saves us when sometimes we feel nothing else will. Lovely comment from a Real loving, caring Dad regarding his Daughter. Brilliant and I hope mcr are proud of his words, I think they all would.
I'm sobbing because he helped me a lot as well with my anxiety and depression and he doesn't even know me but I'm so thankful for being here today, alive and recovering because of him. Thank you, Gerard ❤️
I’m not a fan of his music just by matter of my opinion, but I know Gerard is a great guy with beautiful intents despite his own personal struggles. Much respect and love for the guy.
I'm not even a father yet. But as a man who loves his unborn daughter or son more then anything already. I understand this man and wish him and his daughter the best.
My teen daughter loves MCR too. This past Xmas I bought her an autographed copy of The Black Parade. When she realized what it was, she burst into tears. I may have has a tear in my eye too. She says that it’s her most prized possession.
Taking my 10yr old girl in June to see them praying it isn't cancelled. She told her drums teacher to stop teaching them nonsense and suggested MCR. Few days later he had them all playing I dont love you on the drums as a beginner piece. She's just as obsessed as I was 15yrs ago at 22
@@danidan9917 That’s cool. I loved Three Cheers when it came out but I didn’t follow them much after that. I hope things get to where we can safely go to Concerts again. If they do a show nearby I’d try to take my daughter.
I was 24 in 2005 when I took my sister to the Warped Tour for her 16th birthday. We went to the front of the stage where MCR would play early on (they had hardcore fans back then, but they weren’t the attraction at all, they played very early, one of the first bands). The band came out and Gerard said “Ladies, if anyone tells you to lift up your shirt, tell them EFF YOU!” And then they went straight to performing. I’ll never forget that, there is so much groping and violating behavior at these festivals it was so great to hear MCR promote that message. And I tried to post this comment but it disappeared because I said the full word and not eff. So he didn’t say eff. He said the F bomb.

I was there. Everyone was so touched by this!
His eyes was twinkling, I can tell he doesn’t know what to do on situation like this, but his eyes tell it all
As a male teenage fan, his songs also helped in some of my worst days that might be more worse.
Rn Bandit is almost a teenager which is crazy gerard gonna be great
I love gerard sm he looked confused for a sec like "shit did I do something" but then he realized and that moment of realization was amazing
Their music helped me when I was a teenager, I'm 34 now with a 12 year old who also loves mcr.
that is the cutest
Honestly this made me cry a little. So touching.
gerard will forever be my favorite person in the world
Beautiful true content, music saves us when sometimes we feel nothing else will. Lovely comment from a Real loving, caring Dad regarding his Daughter. Brilliant and I hope mcr are proud of his words, I think they all would.
I almost cried, this was amazing
I'm sobbing because he helped me a lot as well with my anxiety and depression and he doesn't even know me but I'm so thankful for being here today, alive and recovering because of him. Thank you, Gerard ❤️
I’m not a fan of his music just by matter of my opinion, but I know Gerard is a great guy with beautiful intents despite his own personal struggles. Much respect and love for the guy.
Yes. This is how parents should be. We love u gee
I'm not even a father yet. But as a man who loves his unborn daughter or son more then anything already. I understand this man and wish him and his daughter the best.
EYOOO CONGRATULATIONS ON BECOMING A DAD HOWS THE BABY
I'm here again, and I'm crying AGAIN. I love Gerard so much
How could one person dislike this?
The way he looks at him, it’s so sweet 😭
This is part of why I love him. He's heard this type of thing probably thousands of times but he'sv still touched by it.
@🤘🏻🤘🏻🎸 😊
Awww what a sweet dad. My dad and I also bonded a lot over MCR when I was a teen. It’s great motorcycle riding music, especially danger days.
This is both cute and awkward and it’s just so...why is everything that Gerard is in adorable?
