DG wants out if Mitchell extends. SO it really doesn't matter if the new coach has a better plan to hide them in the playoffs.

They should. Two small high usage point guards neither of whom can go to the corner and do a "catch and shoot" three can ever expect constitute a championship backcourt. If Mitchell is willing to sign long term, trade Garland for someone like Devin Vessey or one of the NOLA wings. It will be easier to find a decent sized two guard than a large "3 and D" wing anyway.

@@dearmas9068The question isn’t whether JB is a T1 coach. The question is whether is style is one that fits with this team as it has to be constituted to get out of the midrange in the East. I don’t think any of the Cavs success (if you can call it that) in the last couple years is due to JB. He did a good job establishing a culture on a different roster. The needs of the team are different now. I don’t know if the other guys will be a giant success, but you have to try a different philosophy.

Y'all clearly can't see how Mitchell's game impacts Garland's strengths & vice versus... Garland is not a shooting guard just cause he can hit jumpers... He's not a pure scorer like Mitchell...He get his points in the flow of being a distributor... Mitchell can't run the point like Garland... He can't run the pick & roll like Garland & got tunnel vision as a passer... Mitchell get assists because of his ability to score, not because he's an anticipatory facilitator... Strus is a better type of 2 guard next to Garland than Mitchell is... But playing that way negates Mitchell's strengths...💯💯💯

Are you even a Cavs fan? I’m pretty flabbergasted by your egregious comment. The man who has single handedly carried this team to the playoffs, for the years that he’s been an addition on the team. Surely, you are either trolling, to get a rise out of someone, or you’re just wanting to see this team fail, and aren’t a true Cleveland basketball fan. Now which one of those two is it? Because certainly, if you were a fan, you would know that would be the demise of this teams playoff aspirations.
