Idk about everyone else but I am loving how it’s coming down to good team basketball that is just amazing to watch, it’s so refreshing to have a year where the difference is the role players and every game and series matters instead of the stale playoffs of recent memory where the KD warriors were all but guaranteed to win from the start of the season til the end

That recent memory is 5 years old now, half a decade. But I agree with you that it is refreshing to have a different team challenge each year based on the strength of the whole team as a whole and not on the strength of the 2-3 players they have on the team.

Nick Wright pulled me off of the AD bashing side. AD isn’t inconsistent, he was made to be something he never was because of his skill and is able to at times channel it to pull out historical offensive performances. But what he is, always has been, is the best defender in the league. Most versatile, most game changing. The last game against the Warriors is a perfect example of how the Lakers can win if AD doesn’t give you 30. I believe he will have two games like that where he’s dominant of both ends, but all games he will dominate Joker defensively and offensively pick and roll all day. That being said Bron will have a 30 game, Reeves, DLo, and Lonnie a 25 pt game. The Lakers winning the chip because of their defense and offensive versatility.

If we’re being honest no one is stopping jokic, but I think the key will be to slow everyone else down. Lakers have the best defense and that will be key to slow down the nuggets offense. It will be a tight series and ultimately it will be about who can use their advantages with next level execution. The key is AD being able to play him 1 on 1 without actual double team help. If he can hold his own, they can play the passing lanes and stay on shooters.

AD has not been inconsistent. The Lakers are a paint team. When they run that pick and roll and put pressure on defenses, they go the line and that's their game.

Disagree with skip about lakers not being able to close. Dlo, lonnie, Reaves, bron, Ad, and Schroeder have all shown they can step up and make big shots when necessary. They have a lot of scoring options and I think an underrated aspect of this series is the laker defense. They are extremely stout and just beat the hardest team to defend commandingly. If lakers can steal one on the road, I think you can feel confident the lakers will be able to handle business at home. 6-0 this playoffs and an absolute defensive force. Lakers in 6

I cant call a winner between these two teams. Its a solid match-up.
I'd say that D'Angelo Russell, is the biggest X factor for the Lakers. When he is hitting on all cylinders, he forces Murray to guard him slowing him down on the offensive end. The secondary players and bench players are gonna win the series for one of the teams. I feel like the Lakers has more of a deeper bench with Rui, Schroder and Lonnie. There still is Troy Brown Jr. and Malik Beasley who fell out of the line up. Mo Bamba and Wenyen can give big minutes if they're healthy. The Nuggets are really scary but Lakers in 7.
@@tila99 in certain games yes I can definitely agree that DLo is going to need to be on his quiet 19-30 ppg for at least 3 games. Although I am looking at all 7 games because this isn't oh one team is severely underpowered by a bench and two starters. I think AD is going to have to average a double double like the first three games. LeBron has got to average at least a double double which doesn't seem like much to ask him for but he's going to need to play playoff defense and get some steals and blocks. LeBron also has to make probably the best passes of his career to win here. I believe that the nuggets are much better in terms of transition and having quick Jamal Murray back is so deadly because he's been slept on due to injury. Murray is terrific and Jokic is not a joker. Idk how Jokic keeps going like that he looks so tired. That's a tough opponent. So AD has got to be dominate and I honestly believe in this set of role players. Vanderbilt hasn't gotten to play since LeBron came back and I think that kind hurt his confidence on the court when it comes to scoring.. but he's great on defense. Reaves also needs to be careful with turning the ball over. Rui also needs a confidence boost with some time on the floor. Dennis the menace, but we'd rather him not tech out because he has some clutch to him. Lonnie Walker is interesting to watch so far he's been impressive. And again AD has to control the boards. Nuggets get good rebounds. Gordon can shoot, hit the paint and get solid defensively. So I'm definitely not calling this match-up. Too many players impress me on both teams. I'd hate to see LeBron lose but this is another great team. As a LeBron fan I know he doesn't do good against good teams. These nuggets remind me of 2000s Spurs b4 Kawhi came.
@novacouncil OUTSDRS I think Bron needs to focus on scoring about 28 ppg and let AD get his. A double double from AD is easy for him. Bron needs like 7-9 rbs per game but he needs to be off the ball to start the possessions. Let Reaves and the others get involved to ease the defense off of him. Bron needs to watch and see when the guys are getting out of hand woth the TOs. That's when he needs to ask for the ball and control the game. The role players really need to show their caliber in this series. If lebron and AD has the role players doing their thing... trust me they will get their 55 points between the two of them and if the bench provides another 30 mostly by Rui and Lonnie with Reaves and DLo hitting 15-25 points each? Ain't no way they lose. The Lakers win this series on the defensive end though. Vando will get more playing time and he will need to score at least 6-8 points to keep the defense honest.
