I’m so glad to see you come back to this series. I’m one of the few who’s been around since the Wii, and I consider myself a major fan of the series and have played them all multiple times… That being said, I am also not one of those people who always does every single side quest or optimizes builds for the super bosses. I love the stories and do as much as I reasonably can. These games can be played in so many different ways, and nobody played it “optimally” at first. I wish the vanishingly small group of people who maximize the game would remember that most of us can be fans and casually play a game we love.

Think I first found you from your Smash Bros reactions, and I remember catching one of your streams when you first played it and I kept telling you to use the home run bat or something. Looking back, if I caught your Xenoblade streams, I might have done the same. I’ve gotten better with that stuff and you should definitely enjoy this series at your own pace. You will definitely feel all kinds of different emotions while enjoying Xenoblade 3 and I really hope you enjoy it

I think you made the right choise. There's a lot of people, not just in this series in particular, but in a lot of games, that are backseating and telling "the way" to play a game, when in reality, anyone should play the way they want: the character builds that suits you better, or the path to reach the destination, or go straight to Ganon in BOTW, for saying some examples. Besides, Xenoblade is a heavy series with an inmense world and a LOT of content, that from time to time you need to take a break. The 1st game took me about 2 years to complete. The 2nd one (including Torna) took me about 1 year but became one my favorite games of all times. and the 3th one, took me some months because i was mentally and fisically prepared for that. And also in all 3 games i was spending most of the time exploring the map, making sidequests... In XC2 i was trying to get unique Blades and upgrading them as much as possible (that helped me a lot on the final episode where Rex is alone). So yeah. I hope you regain the joy and emotion that this series offers. Welcome back!!

I had a similar experience in 2021, didn't play XC2 for a long time cause of the online weirdos. But I played it and it became my favourite of the trilogy.

After I played through these games for the first time myself in 2022, I remembered you had played through the 1st game (and were currently playing through the 2nd if I remember right), and immediately went back to watch your playthrough of 1 and begin catching up with 2 after. Xenoblade 2 is so huge, I loved it but did feel a bit burnt out by the end myself. backseating is such a pain, really sorry you had to put up with that 😭 here's hoping your return to the series will remind you of why you loved it to begin with!

Now that Xenoblade is back, it feels like a great moment to say, that Monolith Soft created an R&D team to improve/develop their in-house engine, which probably will lead to more, bigger, better games. They finally have enough employees and money to do that, and of course Nintendo owns them, so they most likely contributed to that. It's great to see that in a time where Sony, Microsoft and others close studios left and right, and there are a ton of lay-offs everywhere, Nintendo is so supportive. They don't have a near perfect employee satisfaction rate for no reason
It's sad to see that some fans are toxic and can't let people play the way they want. Thank you for giving the serie an other chance. I look forward to seeing more of your Xenoblade adventures. I hope you enjoy the third game and get to experience it on your own terms!
The overwhelming majority of Xenoblade fans are pretty chill, but even well-meaning people can be annoying with how they engage with content creators and streamers playing for the first time who just want to immerse in the game in their own way. I watched Jesse's Auditorium play the series through Torna, and that's why he just disabled all of the comments on all of his videos and only streamed a couple episodes. Not because he expects toxicity, but just a precaution so that he can do his own thing in peace.
From what i can remember from back then, u were in a bad mood and just had alot other stuff to do so can't really blame u for quitting and focusing getting that all sorted out. But i agree with the backseating, probably was guilty of some of it myself since i had gotten into it recently myself and had gotten a little to exited. Regardles, hope u will have fun with it now whether u stream it or not.

Welcome back, lad. I've recently made a return to Twitch (as a viewer) and have been in multiple streams of people playing/finishing 2, Torna, and 3. The community has gotten MUCH better. Spoilers are extremely rare, but of course there will always be some coming in with a bit of bsg like "why don't you try this" kind of thing, as with any game. 😢 everyone means well but it's so much more satisfying to play your own way, so just ignore 'em! Personally, I love how you play these games. You literally beat an unbeatable boss down to almost no hp before you realized that it was impossible. That was legendary.
That is a completely fair reason. The Xenoblade community has become somewhat toxic in the same way the Persona fanbase has. Not to say more people are bad it's just that RPGs just attract people who like to nitpick and backseat.
I'd say Xenoblade is nowhere near Persona in toxicity luckily But sadly backseat gamers exist in nearly all gaming communities and just make the rest of the community look worse for it
Every fandom has a toxic side, it’s just with some fandoms it’s more vocal than others, with Zelda theres the Zelda cycle were the moment a new game comes out people start hating on the previous one and then start showering a previously heavily hated game with love, then like a year later they start hating on the newest game and start doing video essays on why the previous game was better.
I was wondering what happened, i actually didn't even know you finished the game, after it went on hiatus like a year ago i ended up playing the game myself. I'm sorry the toxic fans put you off of it, If it weren't for Pyra & Mythra in Smash Ultimate i wouldn't even know or care what a Xenoblade was, I just wanted to know more about them & i enjoyed watching you playing the games
This backseating problem is a common thing I see with JRPGs Fire Emblem can bee a good example of this when you try to discuss best units, people obsesed with the "right" builds and party compositions can be waaaaay to fucking anoying, I just stoped looking at subclass guides for Octopath Traveler and now I just go with what I feel is right, in my experience the best way to learn to play a JRPG is going with what feels right for you
Most of the the community is fine, though the toxic side is unfortunately more loud and make themselves more present (especially when it comes to canon/headcanon stuff in the series. Some peoples might get pretty adamant in proving the theories they believe in to be right and/or shutting down other possibilities)
Just wanted to hop in and say sorry about any negative community experience you may have had playing these games, I'm sure it mostly comes because people are passionate about these games but it really can be a lot to take in, hopefully people can be more considerate moving forward to keep things fun for everyone, and hope you have a wonderful time with the rest of the series. I'm sure many of us will be doing our best to ensure things stay supportive and enjoyable

I've been seeing a good amount of XC2 fans being very vocal in many different things. It happened a lot to a Vtuber I watch. I'm hoping the XC3 crowd is much more chill and not as pushy. I'm not saying XC2 fans are all bad, but they're definitely very passionate. Unfortunately that passion can come across as aggression to any who display opinions that differ from their own. Every fandom has its bad apples, even XC1 fans can be rough but XC2 fans do tend to be the most active. It might be tough, but please try not to focus too much on the negativity. Please enjoy Xenoblade 3 at your own pace and form your own thoughts, feelings, and opinions.
I very much understand you getting burnt out from the series because of the community and you're not the only one this has happened to. Xenoblade is a beloved series and so that love comes with a lot of passion. Unfortunately for a lot of people, that passion can manifest in ways that are very unhealthy, particularly when it comes to watching streamers play the series for the first time. We love the series and want to see others love the series as well but for some reason some people really want other people to feel the exact same way they did while playing. And if they don't they can get pretty aggresive, which is wrong. I hope you're able to look past the BS and appreciate the series in your own way.

Xenoblade 2 is so huge, I loved it but did feel a bit burnt out by the end myself. backseating is such a pain, really sorry you had to put up with that 😭 here's hoping your return to the series will remind you of why you loved it to begin with!

Omg I was checking this out yesterday wondering how the end of torna would be and was surprised it wasn’t out yet. But it was already out of the oven and being prepared to serve
Now that Xenoblade is back, it feels like a great moment to say, that Monolith Soft created an R&D team to improve/develop their in-house engine, which probably will lead to more, bigger, better games. They finally have enough employees and money to do that, and of course Nintendo owns them, so they most likely contributed to that. It's great to see that in a time where Sony, Microsoft and others close studios left and right, and there are a ton of lay-offs everywhere, Nintendo is so supportive. They don't have a near perfect employee satisfaction rate for no reason

It's sad to see that some fans are toxic and can't let people play the way they want. Thank you for giving the serie an other chance. I look forward to seeing more of your Xenoblade adventures. I hope you enjoy the third game and get to experience it on your own terms!
The overwhelming majority of Xenoblade fans are pretty chill, but even well-meaning people can be annoying with how they engage with content creators and streamers playing for the first time who just want to immerse in the game in their own way. I watched Jesse's Auditorium play the series through Torna, and that's why he just disabled all of the comments on all of his videos and only streamed a couple episodes. Not because he expects toxicity, but just a precaution so that he can do his own thing in peace.
From what i can remember from back then, u were in a bad mood and just had alot other stuff to do so can't really blame u for quitting and focusing getting that all sorted out.
But i agree with the backseating, probably was guilty of some of it myself since i had gotten into it recently myself and had gotten a little to exited.
Regardles, hope u will have fun with it now whether u stream it or not.

Welcome back, lad. I've recently made a return to Twitch (as a viewer) and have been in multiple streams of people playing/finishing 2, Torna, and 3.
The community has gotten MUCH better. Spoilers are extremely rare, but of course there will always be some coming in with a bit of bsg like "why don't you try this" kind of thing, as with any game. 😢 everyone means well but it's so much more satisfying to play your own way, so just ignore 'em!

I never understood backseating for Xenoblade. The series is at its best when you are allowed to just explore and learn for yourself and are able to discover what makes the series so good.
My biggest issue with the community are the ones that insist overleveling is bad.

Honestly, I'm super excited. I loved watching you play Xenoblade, but it became super obvious that people were putting you off and it felt like you were pushing yourself through the series. Personally, I love how you play these games. You literally beat an unbeatable boss down to almost no hp before you realized that it was impossible. That was legendary.
That is a completely fair reason. The Xenoblade community has become somewhat toxic in the same way the Persona fanbase has. Not to say more people are bad it's just that RPGs just attract people who like to nitpick and backseat.
I'd say Xenoblade is nowhere near Persona in toxicity luckily
But sadly backseat gamers exist in nearly all gaming communities and just make the rest of the community look worse for it

Every fandom has a toxic side, it’s just with some fandoms it’s more vocal than others, with Zelda theres the Zelda cycle were the moment a new game comes out people start hating on the previous one and then start showering a previously heavily hated game with love, then like a year later they start hating on the newest game and start doing video essays on why the previous game was better.

I'm sorry the toxic fans put you off of it, If it weren't for Pyra & Mythra in Smash Ultimate i wouldn't even know or care what a Xenoblade was, I just wanted to know more about them & i enjoyed watching you playing the games
This backseating problem is a common thing I see with JRPGs Fire Emblem can bee a good example of this when you try to discuss best units, people obsesed with the "right" builds and party compositions can be waaaaay to fucking anoying, I just stoped looking at subclass guides for Octopath Traveler and now I just go with what I feel is right, in my experience the best way to learn to play a JRPG is going with what feels right for you
Most of the the community is fine, though the toxic side is unfortunately more loud and make themselves more present (especially when it comes to canon/headcanon stuff in the series. Some peoples might get pretty adamant in proving the theories they believe in to be right and/or shutting down other possibilities)
Just wanted to hop in and say sorry about any negative community experience you may have had playing these games, I'm sure it mostly comes because people are passionate about these games but it really can be a lot to take in, hopefully people can be more considerate moving forward to keep things fun for everyone, and hope you have a wonderful time with the rest of the series. I'm sure many of us will be doing our best to ensure things stay supportive and enjoyable

I've been seeing a good amount of XC2 fans being very vocal in many different things. It happened a lot to a Vtuber I watch. I'm hoping the XC3 crowd is much more chill and not as pushy. I'm not saying XC2 fans are all bad, but they're definitely very passionate. Unfortunately that passion can come across as aggression to any who display opinions that differ from their own. Every fandom has its bad apples, even XC1 fans can be rough but XC2 fans do tend to be the most active. It might be tough, but please try not to focus too much on the negativity. Please enjoy Xenoblade 3 at your own pace and form your own thoughts, feelings, and opinions.

Xenoblade is a beloved series and so that love comes with a lot of passion. Unfortunately for a lot of people, that passion can manifest in ways that are very unhealthy, particularly when it comes to watching streamers play the series for the first time. We love the series and want to see others love the series as well but for some reason some people really want other people to feel the exact same way they did while playing. And if they don't they can get pretty aggresive, which is wrong. I hope you're able to look past the BS and appreciate the series in your own way.
