In the midst of decluttering and organizing I’ve been so overwhelmed that I haven’t felt like painting. As I’m watching you today I grabbed a mixed media sketch pad that has been sitting next to me for months. I’m thinking that’s what I’m going to use and I’ll start with painting the cover with the words Play, Be Brave and Have Fun on it. You are always an inspiration!

You are definitely my sister from another mister. We have so much in common it is uncanny. I looovvvee mistery shows too..criminal minds is my favourite. I love experimenting with all my art supplies. I have done everything from alcohol inks to flow art to resin to realistic art to abstract....you name it. When I get bored I move to something else. I feel that they contribute to my skillset at the end of the day...why not have fun whilst you are trying to discover yourself?
I have had fun starting with a white kids crayon...some resist scribbles that "appear" in unexpected places! I also found some floating frames at the dollar store that are perfect for all my 4x4 arts!

Death in Paradise, Inspector Lewis, Midsomer Murders, and Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries are some of my favorites (3 British and 1 Aussie). Some are streaming on premium Prime channels (extra cost) but DiP and MM are on Pluto for free. And a bonus rec: a 3-part mini-series with David Tennant called The Escape Artist. I am a "thrifty" shopper & have always leaned toward the "less expensive" cost - AKA "cheap"!!! lol One thing I have learned from practicing is - you get what you pay for. I have given a few as gifts. My goal isn't to sell art - so I have not put them up for sale since I might need them again for something.

The damask stencil is beautiful. Once again you show your skill as an artist with how you lay the colors down to achieve dimension which really shows in your close-ups. Love the colors. Edit: Would you take of of your previous pieces that maybe wasn't your favorite and show how you might improve on it after it's sat a while?
You might check out the junk art collage video for some ideas (th-cam.com/video/S7qr4tDZnZc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=fIpkQXrGMuS11Jpe).. I usually don't go back and add marks to the pieces (I'll have to consider some pieces and maybe do some like that and film it. )... i usually cut them up into the hearts or circles... or use them in collages - I have several collage classes on Skillshare where you see me pull out old art and reimagine it some... I just keep the less favorites in a bin that I can pull from. I put the favorites in another bin in art sleeves. Thank you! 🥰

One is watercolor and one is acrylic. Watercolor one acts like watercolor and can reactivate. Acrylic one acts like acrylic paint and is permanent. I use the watercolor gouache. The Kuretake watercolors are watercolors with different binders that are very gouache like. Gouache is more pigmented than watercolor usually.
