These are beautiful! I would love more content like this. I really appreciate how you explained layering, shadow placement, and negative painting techniques. You are awesome!
Thank you Kristin for completing the snowy landscapes. You have done them all justice and they all have their own unique finish as well as the unique backgrounds done so differently. It was good to see them involving into a finished piece of art. I luved the negative painting of the middle snowy tree is very effective as well as the third negative tree outline. This technique is so different and outlines the subject in a softer way and is so good. You have managed to show so many different techniques in all three paintings which is a great tutorial for us to try on our own to branch out of normal watercolour painting. You are a real blessing as you describe and illustrate your techniques very clearly thank you so much 🙌
Thank you, Kristin for another fabulous, tip-filled episode! I especially liked the negative painting around the 'snowy blobs' on the tree, adding definition to the overall effect! Wow, even your tip of lightly penciling in the future 'snowy blobs' ~ just seems so forthright, yet effective! 😁
Hello Kristin! I started trying your tutorials. I love the snowman I made but I want to try the ones from this video, too. I want to be better with watercolor painting but don't know what brushes or paint to get. What brushes and paints do you use, please?
Hi, can you send me a link to the last video where you reference making the snowy landscape textures. I am a beginner and really appreciate all your concrete tips. Thanks!
Kristin, I don’t have Indigo. I tried Prussian with paynes grey and then with black but wasn’t able to get that beautiful dark blue that you got from your indigo, do you have any suggestions of color combinations I could use?
@@debrawalters9746 magenta and a brughter blue like cerulean make a beautiful deep blue. Then I would add some more yellow and magenta (to mimick orange, blue’s complement) until I got the right deep blue color. I hope that helps!
Love these! Definitely going to give this a try. Thank you ☺️

Loves this painting. When doing the trees and highlights in the snow are you using cerulean? Or something with more green?
At 2 minutes in, she mentions Cerulean... 😊 as she's painting snow around the cabin!!!
