Not related to this video but i recently bought one of your Dragon eggs and it looks amazing, it’s one of those with a tree in it, i just had a thought that a tiny deer would look amazing in there alongside the tree if it can be done 🤔😁

Just a suggestion. Maybe use that infrared thermometer to measure the resin temp instead of guessing when its warm enough. You might get more replicable results. 2 degrees might make a big difference

      @jlyssagraywolf7503 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

Awesome 😎👍. I think that you should make the 1st one into a paper weight and the second one like you suggested, in the vacuum in a color that will really pop. I think you should definitely keep dry ice in the shop freezer, cause you never know when it might be a great addition to your birthday parties and decorations. If I could, I would love to make dragon eggs with them. I think that they would be awesome to not only make but own.

Hi Ben, What happens if you’re stirring the resin really fast when it cures? Do you get the cyclone 🌀 effect?
Can you use one of those electromagnetic stirrer that chemists use? Possibly with iron filings to create a vortex?! That would be cool!

Great video! It might not be a feasible idea, but if you put the blank into the pressure pot with the dry ice in it, you will slow the rate at which it turns to gas, which might give you more control and may allow you to actually trap it in resin.

Once that sets pour an opposing color and place it in a vacuum chamber to such it in as much as possible. Worth a shot!

I've never tried vegemite before but now I want to! If you watch the vegemite against the plastic on the right at 8:15, you can actually see it pulling away. I'm not sure if it's because the vegemite is getting cold and contracting, or if its the gas forcing it away. My guess is the gas forcing it away, because you can see where something "releases" and then the vegemite starts reversing. Not the pop you were looking for, but still pretty cool!

As an American; Vegemite looks like the tar my dad uses to patch roads for the County.
Also blows my mind that Woolsworth is still a thing! My grandma talks about it.

Only at Woolworths? Didn’t know those still existed. I remember shopping there with my Grandma as a small child in the early 1980’s.

Coloured resin poured into the void left by the dry ice would be a challenge but ,I think ,have a cool effect. The milk with dry ice and resin......those bubbles looked uniform in size and over all shape. Colour the milk and make "grapes" or almost a bubble tea type thing. Uh oh the wheels are turning.......this dry ice thing is quite fun!

My bestie is Aussie and she made me try vegemite on toast. To be honest, it wasn't bad. It actually reminded me of something I ate a few times as a kid but no idea what. I'd eat it again.

I'm really interested in why the oil didn't off gas. I'd also like to say that I never try ANYTHING that is described as an "acquired taste," because to me, that means getting used to something you hate because you have to.
I also hope you revisit this using the pressure pot or vacuum chamber and different pour techniques.

I'm from America and I had Vegemite that was baked into some kind of savory cheese pinwheels that my university was serving as some kind of "cuisine from around the world" deal. I actually thought the flavor was nice, but very strong and only good because it was being paired with strong cheese and pastry flavors.

I’ve been playing video games with a few aussies since I was 16. They were all about vegimite and sent me some in the mail years back. I hated it at first. But kept trying it different ways. It was pretty good with a thin layer of avocado

Do those different colors!!! That’s such a good idea. You could make a whole dang mess of pieces full of whatever you want! I want to see a cave-system piece if you can swing it… with a lake at the bottom.

Purple. Definitely purple in the voids. Just recently found your videos. I find them fascinating. And I'm 61y/o lady. So I subscribed. Love the resin product. I make jewelry myself, but using resin too messy to work with even when wearing plastic gloves. Perhaps I need to give it a little more time and playing with it. I'll be watching you.

A small correction to make. The Alkohol isn‘t actually supercooled. A liquid is supercooled if it is below it‘s freezing point, but the crystals can‘t form for some reason (for example a lack of a starting point to crystallise). It can have a really cool effect when freezing because the freezing happens really fast. Thats what you can observe for example in hand warmers. In this case the alkohol is just cooled.
