Hi there, I just discovered your channel, and I am finding it so helpful. I love the way you address different gardening challenges. I live in central BC in Canada, zone 3b, and I am a passionate gardener. I am also 68 with arthritis, so many of your suggestions are especially helpful to me. Thanks so much.

I totally agree! I do that as well, but missed talking about it. Thanks for sharing and watching the video!

I chose metal beds because, with the current price of lumber, they can be had much cheaper than lumber.

So true! I found the metal beds easier to put together and move around. Thanks for watching the video!

Thanks for the info. The ones I have are galvanized I have had for years and haven't put them up yet health issues. I have one end of the space in the shade I might try it there. What do you think?

I've not used those so really can't say. Shade would likely help keep them cooler, but it would also limit what you would be able to grow there. Potatoes need full sun with at least 6 to 8 hours of sunlight each day. Let me know if you do try it. I'd be interested to know how it works out.

How do metal beds work for potatoes I live in central Florida and it gets hot let me know thanks

I had potatoes in the metals beds last year, as well as this year. I didn't have any issues with heat transfer. The potatoes did beautifully well. I'll add a photo of my current potatoes planted in the metal beds on the community tab.
It regularly gets up into the 90s with high humidity here. I've heard others talk about the silver metal beds getting super hot - even to the point of causing burns if you touch them. I never had this issue with the Vegega beds.
I think there's a big difference in heat transfer and heat absorption between the galvanized beds and the steel core with zinc alloy coating/non-toxic paint. I returned all the galvanized beds I ordered from Amazon last year.
I hope this helps and thanks for watching!
