Adding butter to white chocolate instead of coconut oil for example is why it didn't set enough. Also, I've noticed repeatedly that you add flavorings or other ingredients that contain water in them that cause your fudge to seize as you mix. If you use flavoring designed for candy making that has an alcohol base this won't happen. This also is true for colorings. Gel based coloring prevent this. You can get them when that go on sale at hobby lobby. *Milk based ingredients also have water. Hope this helps.
@ProudCanadian-vv6bk I was thinking that. It looked like the butter went in after cooking with the milk chocolate but during cooking with some of the white.
To keep your paper from moving, use a light mist of vegetable spray at the bottom of your pan first. the paper will stay put when you spread ingredients in your pan
Before I see the end results I’m thinking that you guys may end up preferring the fudge with the chocolate chips you usually use because that is what you’re palette is used to and have come to love. I also noticed that the Hershey chocolate chips were milk chocolate, whereas the others were semi sweet. Might make a difference in preference.
Betty Crocker canned frosting instead of the sweetened condensed milk also works and there are many flavors 👍🏻 I love to get a can of chocolate frosting and do creamy PB instead of chocolate chips. It’s delicious.
Put a little cooking oil, or what ever one uses on a paper towel and rub on both sides of the blade to keep the fudge from sticking to the blade. Justva little tip 👍🏻😊✌🏻
Nestles white chips can still be used for fudge, however, you need to use 1 1/2 to 2 packs of chips per can of condensed milk. This is the same for any white chocolate. I have also had this happen to me one time with a semi-sweet chips also.
Lol I have never myself owned a wooden spoon or a wooded cutting board and I have non stick pans too. I use metal everything on. I have never wanted to use the wooden because it is so porous and I can't even imagine the germs that can easily get imbedded in them. They also can splinter. I have used my same metal spoons for 55 yrs never replacing them and yet I know so many who have to replace their wooden ones on a regular basis. Plus I see a lot of food wasted because the bowls don't most of the time get scraped as well with wooden. I know I am the odd man out in this but never have had any trouble using metal in my whole 60 plus years of cooking. Bottom line there are pros and cons to each.
I haven't made fudge in a very long time. But when I made it more often I always used the fantasy fudge recipe from Kraft as well. It is so good and a hit with family and friends.
150lbs. of candy sounds delicious! I appreciate that you aren’t stingy with the portion size. 😉When you are pouring the smooth fudge mixture I wish I could get some. 😋
When doing white chocolate fudges, I always cut back on the Sweetened Condenced milk. There's more wax in the dark chocolates types, and they hold up better.
Someone did a store bought chocolate frosting taste test on another channel and the picked the Hershey frosting over all the other brands. Your test taste followed their conclusions too! Great job Jack with showing the brand while giving Tara the test samples!👍
I remember eating some Easter chocolate years ago and had a sip of ice water at the same time. I couldn’t believe how waxy the texture was. I learned a lot that day why some chocolate is less expensive than others.😖
Absolutely love your nails you inspired me to go get mine done Christmas theme. Not sure what yet but I might steal your idea. I love the candy cane Look and absolutely love all your candies. Can’t wait to try them the week before Christmas. I was wondering how long does the nugget last and should we store it inthe fridge, thanks for all your videos.❤❤❤
Thank you for doing the taste test. For fairness, I want all the variables the same except the chocolate chip brand. I went back and looked-all the chocolate chips were semi-sweet except Hershey was milk chocolate. I make a stovetop fudge like you demonstrated your Great Grandmother’s recipe a few weeks ago. The recipe I use doesn’t cook the 1 c butter with the sugar and condensed milk and it uses 4-1/2 c sugar instead of 4 c in your Great Grandmother’s recipe. It includes marshmallow fluff and vanilla. BTW, everyone loves it and I mostly use Toll House Semi-Sweet or Milk Chocolate chips or a bag of each.
This was interesting. I’ve always used Toll House chocolate chips. I really love their mini chips. Your cutting skills are good. My cuts are never straight or the same size, but the fudge is good regardless. lol
Not trying to pick a fight, unless you pay me off in fudge, but a form of the internet (which was initially called the Ethernet) did exist more than 30 years ago it just wasn't what it is today. I worked for a major corporation and we used the Ethernet/ internet back then. Of course technology took off and it became a much more complicated thing as time went by..
@@supereasyrecipe I worked for Xerox Data Systems at the time. Most folks don't know that Xerox had a computer division back then. It was a lot of fun. We all used the Ethernet to communicate with our far flung branches.... including in the UK and in Japan..
I only use Ghirardelli, but have to cut way back this year, as one pack is nearly $5.00! I've never thought about making fudge as almond bark, only use to dip candy. 😊
Regarding white chocolate. I made the nougat candy with the dots yesterday. I bought one bag Ghirardelli and one great value. I used both in the recipe, thinking the more expensive brand would be better but for cost saving measures, “dilute it with the cheaper”. I can tell u I tasted nothing morsels before making. The Ghirardelli was dry like. Not that creaminess when I put it in my mouth. The great value was creamier and had a much more superior vanilla like flavor. Now I know I don’t have to spend more
Huh weird the whit chocolate ones didnt set up. Thanks for trying. I wonder if you could just roll in balls and freeze and then dip in chocolate and it would be good. Truffles. Sorry if you say that in the video. Didnt finish yet. 😂
I am wondering if maybe you should have used only one brand of condensed milk. The different brands of condensed milk could affect the taste as well as the different brands of chocolate chips.
It’s because the white chocolate chip you are using do not have any chocolate in them. There is no cocoa powder in them a true white chocolate you would need to get the white chocolate wafers that have cocoa in it . If you look on the package ingredients it says that it is a flavor, not true white chocolate .

Water works too 😊

Good observations!
I noticed she used different brands of condensed milk but I think for a taste comparison every added ingredient should be exactly the same…to be fair.
Betty Crocker canned frosting instead of the sweetened condensed milk also works and there are many flavors 👍🏻 I love to get a can of chocolate frosting and do creamy PB instead of chocolate chips. It’s delicious.
Why don’t you use a silicone spatula? Wouldn’t it be much easier?
And quieter.
Amen, amen and amen. And turn off the background music, please.
Love your Christmas nails!!
Also, love the candy videos!!!
I think using a spatula would help you mix easier and again taking the mixture out of the mixing bowl into your pan 🤗
Thanks for testing these chocolates for us.
Put a little cooking oil, or what ever one uses on a paper towel and rub on both sides of the blade to keep the fudge from sticking to the blade. Justva little tip 👍🏻😊✌🏻
Thank you for doing this comparison!!! 😊
Yum! This fudge is the best and so easy. Dollar general has some super cute rectangle tins for $1 that would be perfect for fudge/ candies.
Nestles white chips can still be used for fudge, however, you need to use 1 1/2 to 2 packs of chips per can of condensed milk. This is the same for any white chocolate. I have also had this happen to me one time with a semi-sweet chips also.
Christmas nails 👍🏼
Will someone please send this dear lady a wooden spoon?! I can barely handle the scraping sound of the metal against the pan. {shiver}

@@jillcooper172…..silicone spatula. I use a wooden spoon for stirring, usually.
I love your Christmas nails! Nice festive touch!
Love the nails ❤ , I love your quick easy way to make fudge, this will be great for the holidays 🌲☕
I always use Nestle milk chocolate chips. I like the way it melts nicely every time.
This was awesome! I have a feeling I'd be surprised at all those flavors too.
Thanks for the simple recipe.
I also use Walmarts chips. I make a lot of fudge. I use the fantasy fudge recipe from Krafts. Always worked great.
I haven't made fudge in a very long time. But when I made it more often I always used the fantasy fudge recipe from Kraft as well. It is so good and a hit with family and friends.
I love Ghirardelli bitter sweet chips to snack on, they're really good. Their milk chocolate chips and ALDI milk chocolate chips are good alone.
love the video and love the nails! Merry Christmas!
The Hershey was milk chocolate I think the others were semi sweet chocolate. Thanks for the video.
The BEST milk chocolate chips I think are the Guittard.
Your nails are very cute and festive!❤
Ooo i like the clip idea on side! Nice!
Thank you for this video
Thank you 😊
150lbs. of candy sounds delicious! I appreciate that you aren’t stingy with the portion size. 😉When you are pouring the smooth fudge mixture I wish I could get some. 😋
Great video! ❤
You may have picked Hershey’s because it was milk chocolate instead of semi sweet. Maybe you prefer milk chocolate?

Thanks! Mine are press on ones from Walmart.
20:53 Nestle is great for fudge DO NOT ADD BUTTER!
try a pizza cutter to cut fudge.
Thank you for doing the taste test. For fairness, I want all the variables the same except the chocolate chip brand. I went back and looked-all the chocolate chips were semi-sweet except Hershey was milk chocolate.

I have the same tan microwave pan you used. Love it ... sure wish they still made it because mine has been well used.
Surprising results!
Melt the while chocolate’s back down and add a little paraffin and use it for dipping
I bought some Toll House milk chocolate chips last week. Not a fan.. but, haven't used them in a recipe yet. Just tried them plain.
This was interesting. I’ve always used Toll House chocolate chips. I really love their mini chips. Your cutting skills are good. My cuts are never straight or the same size, but the fudge is good regardless. lol

LOL I know, Mike was a part of it in the 80's I believe.
My husband worked for Commodore computers in 1977 to 1983 near San Jose, California.
@@supereasyrecipe I worked for Xerox Data Systems at the time. Most folks don't know that Xerox had a computer division back then. It was a lot of fun. We all used the Ethernet to communicate with our far flung branches.... including in the UK and in Japan..
You’re making me want some fudge.
Ethernet was a pain. Not practical for communication.
I always use Bakers baking chocolate bars, with Carnation sweetened condensed milk. It always melts the best.
Wish i could come and taste test! 😋
I use Dove chocolate. It’s creamy and has a better flavor that baking chocolate.
Love the nails
Maybe with the white chocolates you shouldn’t add the butter. Maybe it’d set up better. Or, try using a little coconut oil.
The Hersheys was milk chocolate and the others were semi-sweet chocolate.
I only use Ghirardelli, but have to cut way back this year, as one pack is nearly $5.00! I've never thought about making fudge as almond bark, only use to dip candy. 😊
My toll house chocolate, 2 ingredients fudge was incredibly soft as well

Beautiful nails 💅
Did you add butter to each one?
nails are fantastic!
Do u put butter in each one?
Ghirardelli all the way
Fun fact. It’s pronounced Gear-a-deli with a hard G, not a J sound.
I just bought a big bag of Hersheys chipits and I’m so glad.🥰
That seems like a good test.
My blood sugar alarm went off from just watching the video.
Maybe too much butter in the white chocolate fudge? Just a thought.
No same amount.
Hi Tawra,Mike,Dave I bet your kitchen smelled amazing
They don't sell almond bark in Canadian Walmarts, it makes me jealous seeing you guys use it, lol
I would like to add nuts to them.
Huh weird the whit chocolate ones didnt set up. Thanks for trying. I wonder if you could just roll in balls and freeze and then dip in chocolate and it would be good. Truffles. Sorry if you say that in the video. Didnt finish yet. 😂
Use little vanilla instead of butter
Yummm
I am wondering if maybe you should have used only one brand of condensed milk. The different brands of condensed milk could affect the taste as well as the different brands of chocolate chips.
Don’t forget to save some for you and your family too.
By the time Christmas comes I have a feeling we will never want to look at candy again! LOL
I think you met Mike at a candy counter
I just bought Hersheys semi sweet chocolate chips 2, 12oz packages for $5.00
How about soup kitchens.
Not sure what I did wrong I made your maple fudge it just doesn’t set up 😫😫
What are you doing with all of this candy?
It’s because the white chocolate chip you are using do not have any chocolate in them. There is no cocoa powder in them a true white chocolate you would need to get the white chocolate wafers that have cocoa in it . If you look on the package ingredients it says that it is a flavor, not true white chocolate .
I will be in town tomorrow.
I'll take ze candies.
🤣😂🤣 jest kidding
Jack's voice is not that of a little boy, is it? He is growing up so fast!! Great video. Thanks for making all these so we know what NOT to do. :)
You are so kind. Thank you so much for always being so encouraging! And yes, he is growing up fast!
Using to much butter cause to not let set quick.takes longer to set
You should use an allergy free one like enjoy life as well
Was it the butter?
White chips don't have as much wax.
❤️😋❤️
Do you prefer the 2 ingredient fudge over the other using marshmallows?
yes
That is Not Fudge
FYI, it's pronounced gear-a-deli
I’ll give a thumbs up but I can’t stand the pointy nails. Especially when you’re cooking. Just my opinion
Why do you have 2 channels? Is this one legit?
Yes it’s legit
Yes it's legit. I actually have 7 channels but only active on 2 right now. Tiy can have as many channels as you want.
How many pans do you have?😂😂
4
Weird video.
