I feel like there's always a compromise between building experience and playabillity, adding a motor for every function makes the build less interesting imo, but makes the set more functional. I don't really have a strong opinion on this set other than that it's expensive.

i think that if it wasnt using those mechanical pistons but pneumatic pistons and 1 motor plus a pump for making air pressure you could have better function but also a more interesting build

Markus Kossman is the best! I'm so glad that he worked on this bulldozer as he designed the 2007 one as well! I have so much nostalgia for the 2007 one, and I love the gearbox so much in this set! Definitely the best model designed by kossman!

I work for a Caterpillar Dealer in Australia and CAT (that's what the manufacturer is called by dealers) has informed us that they are changing the naming convention of the entire product line. So this bulldozer, or correctly called Track Type Tractor, will now be named D11; distinguishing it from the proceeding model D11T. CAT have dropped the alphabet at the end, going forward. A bit of trivia for you. Thoroughly enjoyed your video and comments on this model. Looking forward to your next video.

Thanks for this video. I have just finished building the RC-Bulldozer by Happy Build® 22011: 7 motors, two hubs, RC (and some kind of "Control+" if you so wish), rechargeable batteries and excellent parts at a price of €180. It is a MOC that went into serial production, so it is not perfect in all aspects of the build, but it works fine.
This means that I will not ever be needing the Lego version as it has fewer functions, no RC, no rechargeable batteries, fewer motors (which you are not free to use for whatever you want unless you buy additional stuff), just one hub, a sticker sheet (but no Cat prints - if I understand you correctly) and costs the princely sum of €450. It is just a no-brainer.

Nabbed this bad boy for 250 euro (373 CAD). This is my third technic set and the first over 1000 pieces. In the process building it and the second step where you build the majority of the mechanism caught me unprepared in its complexity. Made two big mistakes that were not easy to fix after getting much later in the build. It was both great relief and satisfaction when the testing step came and everything worked 😅

4:32 it does not matter the direction on the grey idle gear for the linear actuators. As all it does is transfer the rotation from one side to the other… it’s an idle gear, the direction would only matter if that gear was the drive gear.

My last technic model in my youth was 8857 (the street chopper from 93, however I still have the set in its alternate dragster form); unlike that one, I find all these new sets have blue, red, orage, and a plethora of other multi-color parts, which is fine if you're semi-blind from age, or if you're attention span is that of a goldfish where you cant focus on any specific area to notice the details when its all the same or similar color.
Given that these are 18+ builds, that cost upwards of $500, 1) they should have same-color-parts for where they go in the overall, 2) All pieces that currently get stickers should have actually been printed (like the Ferrari)

Just recently purchased this set. Mine came with the screw on battery cover.

Are there any rumours about the next big lego technic product that comes after this bulldozer? 2022? Maybe a big hauler as seen in the mines around the world?

TYSM for your review... I have a question: I have the Lego 42009. There is the possibility to motorize it with control? Grazie

42009 was fully motorized with Power Functions, it should be also possible with Powered Up

Good review that exposes that joke of a back ripper... I didn't really expect fake actuators at this price point. Waited months for this set but it's disappointing to say the least. Guess I'll buy the Liebherr, can be found new for €350 right now
