If you're like me and got a freaking cramp in your hand from constantly hitting R2 (or your controller's sensitivity is off for that button making this mini-game quite difficult) I suggest going to controller settings on your PS5 and switching the R2 button into R1, triangle, square or whatever button you prefer to smash. Made this challenge a lot easier and didn't leave my hand aching even after several tries to get the top score.

@@velvet_victor Go to Settings Menu on your PS5 home screen. Pick "Accessories" > "Controller" > "Controllers" > "Custom Button Assignments for DualSense Wireless Controller" > pick "Enable Custom Button Assignments" and then "Customize Button Assignments". There you can switch places with any button you want, pick Apply and then merely go back and return to the game. Once you're done you can just switch the buttons back.

What I used from you is to have it at the slowest speed, to have adaptive triggers and motion control off and follow a pattern. What I added on to it was to have the graphics set to performance sharp, game difficulty set to easy, to have the controller connected to the game via the cable so as to eliminate input lag. I also set the button layout on my controller under accessibility settings to swap the R2 button and the "x" button so that instead of hitting R2 and getting forearm cramps I could just use my thumb on the x button. All of those things together got me 15000 on the nose right now. So thank u.

@@Klearith the adaptive triggers are really cool tech but theyre a pain in the ass if you have to repeatedly shoot quickly >.< definitely nice to know this accessibility feature exists

I finally beat it. Took me like 20 tries and I scored exactly 15,000 when the timer ran out. I was so happy. Thanks for the video!
Tips worked for me, stop what you are doing and shoot the two catuars , they are worth huge points
First Fat Chocobo comes up stop what you are doing and Aim to top left exposed cabin, comes up few seconds after Fat Chocobo appears.
When the 2nd Fat Chocobo appears stop wait you are doing and aim for the lower right exposed deck
Note you don’t have to hit every target, I found just keeping to the middle ship and aiming up every so often and down into waves but in the middle & with 2 catuar got me high score.

They need to add the ability to invert the controls because I can't play where up is and down is down. For me I have to have it up is down and down is up

Late, but you can go to camera settings in the game and invert (or not) vertical camera.
Change to performance mode. It glides better. i got it first try after changing. I use the lowest speed just as this guide shows and change responsiveness camera to 5 (idk if it really helps). Thank you!

This is my silly comment! This helped me so damn much just going slower in a pattern not wasting shots. 15300 after about 4-5 attempts and switching r2 to r1 thanks!!!!
thanks for this vid. i was wasting way too much time trying to maximize points per target rather than just shooting more targets. setting aim to slow and pathing also really helped. i beat it on my next attempt.
I cannot press R2 on the controller fast enough. Why did they default shooting on the adaptive triggers?
Ya talk about a cramp shooting the large targets. I ended up changing the buttons around so X was my R2 button you can edit your buttons makes it so much easier.
How tf...I can't get above 1100 because on slow settings it's like moving molasses and on high settings I can't aim at all. Is it because my camera settings are lower?

I got 13500 or whatever on my first one, but I don't like either of the 2 control schemes so I wanted to cheat by looking it up and move on. Too many minigames and not enough overworld at this point in the game so far.

Cactuar spawn when fat chocobo spawn. On first fat chocobo look for the left. The second fat chocobo its on the right.

I'm at 14300, but I'm determined to get 15000. Time materia is one of my go to equips for Cloud.

@@DuckyVonSoto Time Materia allows you to cast Haste (fills up your ATB faster), Slow (on your enemies), and Stop (on your enemies).

How do you do that? What is the option name? Couldn’t find it anywhere.
Hit square to switch aim modes. Turns L2 to fire and R-stick to aim. I found it easier to control for soother aiming.
