Hi, thanks. I accidentally disassembled too much on my bike and I am a complete noob so this helped me out to see how the parts work and belong together :D
My Cervelo front end was getting a little loose so I took it apart, cleaned and regreased everything and reinstalled with one of these FSA compression top cap assemblies and after a bit of pfaffing and fiddling about all the play is now gone. Tight as a drum so I guess I have no complaints. $15 to go from unrideable to fixed.
Hi, thanks for you video... I'd ordered a full carbon fork and a expander that looks similars to yours, I'm a little bit worried about the size of the expander, in one hand there is plenty of people installing this short ones, in other hand, there's some people that says that they are too short and dangerous and so on... what are your thougts?
Make sure the stem is tightened over the expander, probably near the top of the steerer. Also tighten only to manufacture recommended torque, no more. I think it should be fine. But if you feel safer with a longer expander then might as well get a longer one for peace and comfort. I've ridden with this for hundreds of miles, no problems so far.

Thanks, I'm glad you got it back together!
If you have installed this, then change it. the design is really poor, and possibly dangerous
Me too. This part fell into the frame and I had to figure out how to reinstall and reassemble it. Showing the instructions in the video was key.

Amazing! Glad it worked well for you. Have fun cycling!
how important is it to use a torque wrench for the compression part? my 5mm hex socket doesn't reach inside the top cap..
I'd say it's important. Carbon fiber can catastrophically fail (e.g. crack) so overtightening would not be good.
that's what I was thinking. I'm going to order an extended 5mm hex socket. Thanks.@@pedalpowercycling

Terrible design. Everybody stay away from it
Just dissassembled mine... I'll probably replace it. Any recommendations?
What's the OEM version? They're typically pretty good?
