- Introducing Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo, an interactive alarm clock that’s out of the ordinary! Alarmo responds to your body’s movement with game sounds, so you can feel like you’re waking up in the game world itself. Set an alarm inspired by five Nintendo games, with more alarms on the way as free updates as they become available.

For a limited time*, paid Nintendo Switch Online members in the United States and Canada can purchase Alarmo online via the My Nintendo Store before it is available to purchase by the general public. I think it's the fact it's motion detected and it has dynamic music and sounds is why people want it in an unironic way.
Though I think this is Nintendo's way of testing perhaps the motion sensors for the Switch 2.

Notice the countries that it's being sold in. Both countries have developed tech to track people on their homes but had no way to get people to want to buy it. The EU and Japan have rules on the collection of that data but in the US and Canada they don't. Which means Nintendo will be selling a person's stats and details to third party tech companies to help with their future dystopian world of 1984.

I think it's pretty telling every shot they used of the actors trying out the alarm featured them _alone_ and _in a giant bed_ . Good luck getting those motion sensors to not read garbage data if you're sleeping with a loved one, or in a cramped bed.
