It would be really cool if you put another wildlife overpass where the highway borders the rock in Oak Nature Reserve. That way it leads into the reserve and you could landscape some of that hillside
Loved the chat about future episode ideas for VB, you mentioned the Sterling Family Zoo / Nature reserve which are nearly 100 episodes ago & 2232 is approaching in game which is the 200 year anniversary of the grand opening. Definitely an opportunity to re-detail those classic areas with some fresher assets! Would also love the idea of upgrading Somerset and how a city would go about doing that in reality. Great stream, shame I missed it but it was 2am my time. Have a great day!
I really do love watching unedited or minimally edited stream VODs back. It feels more personal, like I’m actually there! Sometimes I forget that I’m not watching it live because it feels so natural.
I am soooo sad that I missed this live. Dangit! I'm enjoying listening to it while I work, though. 🙂 Phil, I think your new setup worked really well! I enjoyed watching and listening to you get distracted and squirrel all over the place, as usual! So fun. Thanks again, for the excellent content.
Between the music, your calm voice and the relaxing game, this has become my routine for relaxing before bed and falling asleep to (in the best way possible). Just so peaceful. And I always go back the next day to rewatch what I missed
I would like to see a true Metropolitan multi city build using all 81 tiles combining like three Big Cities i.e. New York-Newark NJ Metro Area or the San Francisco-Oakland CA Dallas-Ft. Worth-Arlington Metroplex, Atlanta-Chattanooga-Birmingham Combined Metro area
I really like the idea of a lightly modded (primarily utility mods rather than assets) build. Where maybe the extent of extra assets is something like the Vanilla+ road pack.
I really like this idea too. I'm surprised that TH-cam streams tend to be either "so vanilla we won't even use MoveIt" or "so heavily modded we've replaced every asset in the game and it requires a supercomputer to run". I wish there was something in the middle, because realistically that's where many of the players are at.
@@rebecca99994 Not just that but going through the dependency hell of oh I need this asset, oh that one requires these other 5 so let me exit back out and grab those 5 too.
I've been a fan since bluffside crossing started, and I just wanted you to know the insights and stories you go on in your videos really have changed the way I view the world around me. When I'm going about my daily life I feel like I have a lot more insights into why things are how they are (My playstyle in city skylines is drastically better as well)
CPP, I would love to see a super detailed city, at any population limit, that is SUPER realistic! I love you’re videos, because they have a story, I get to learn about city planning, you try to be realistic, and you inspire me with ideas for my own cities. The city that I’m currently building in the first one over 20,000 that I’ve continued playing. It’s the first city I gonna play to verde beach numbers!
Something I feel the city is missing is a scouting program. You could use part of Oak Nature Reserve to make a scout camp. Something with a fire bowl, activity centers, and camp sites. It'd make the nature reserve active and unique from the other parks in the city.
I’ve spent a lot of time in southern France and Spain, I’d love to see a you do a Southern European/Mediterranean style city build. Cities like Toulouse, Lyon, Barcelona, Valencia have some amazing urban design and the countrysides have loads of space, small villages and have some dramatic and sweeping highway junctions
the massive cycle ramp is not needed imo. It should continue with the waterfront to the opposite bridge and could be a recreational cycling/ped area along the waterfront.
Would it be at all possible if you could make a detailed video explaining how to use move it and really any of the other mods out there that help you fine tune roads and such? I have been going crazy trying to figure out how the heck to get a road to match the height of another road, etc. Trying to make a decent over pass with on and off ramps and a decent starting entrance to my city...yet all the starting roads are not the same height and it is driving my nuts..lol
wish i could have caught the stream live the vod was really good thanks for leaving it up also shout out the the fishing boat that gets stuck on land at 21:43 that gets ignored lol
i think for the nature reserve i think you should “sell off” a small bit of land and build a small community but make it centered around the nature reserve edit: just got to the part where you said make it a pedestrian neighborhood, I think that be such a good idea, you should do that
Honestly I would divide up oak nature reserve in half, however Where the paths are all ready will remain the reserve but put a barrier like a half a mile distance for trees. Then develop the land that remains as part of downtown. But also have a park in the middle of the new development as July said save the trees. It's a good compramise in my opinion. Also please name it Elizabeth memorial park if you do go this route. If you want lore for why it was named after queen Elizabeth II, she had visited Verde when a British embassy was established in the city, she did a few things in her short time in the city but one of the biggest and symbolic things she did was plant a tree in the reserve. The British embassy heard that the city council was petition to get that land back from the nature reserve. (If the US has similar laws like nz then yah that's a real hard thing to do so it probably did take a long time to get that land back. I say that because it's been an established nature reserve for over 100 years) they had jumped on it and asked buy that land as soon as it is available. As a compramise they will help develop that land. (All this because the queen or king of England great, great grandmother had planted that tree there hey remember Verde is 100 or more years later from 2022 we would have gone through Charles, William and most likey George as kings, potentially Charlotte as queen by then. Basically that tree would be considered a historical site) it's sad because alot of us don't know a world without her and half of our world is in mourning for her. Also alot of us thought she would live way Longer to.
All the greek names should've been by the campus. Nike, Athena, Ares, Achilles by the stadiums Dionysus, Aphrodite, Eros by the bars Hestia, Hera, Psyche, Hypnos, Elysium by the student housing Themis, Hades, Tartarus by the police academy Demeter, Persphone by the farm or one of the conservation areas Hermes by the post office Zeus by the power plant Hephaestus by the industrial park etc etc
I’d love if the next series is something based on European cities zoning style: more multi family building, heavily transit based and less car-centric. Kind of like Barcelona and Paris. Verde Beach does this at some extent, but not 100%.
I found this channel a few months ago and i've been slowly making my way through the Verde Beach episodes. I just watched episode 61 and you claim that Phillip is spelled wrong. I would like to disagree with that, being a 2 L'd Phillip. Love the channel dude. It's actually made me a better builder in the game and i enjoy it much more now.
The pedestrian part is great! But I am not crazy about the designs of the new buildings. They are very eclectic and only fit a certain style. Would be been nicer if they were more plain.
I say leave the nature reserve alone. Realistically speaking, there would be a huge community push back against developing a nature reserve, if not illegal to start developing a nature reserve.
CPP I'm not able to download the save files for your older guide for cities skylines city named "StarterVille" from steam as I have got this game from epic games, is there any other way by which I can download the save file, I'd really like to study that city as I'm a complete beginner, or if there's any other way to download that save file, please let me know guys, any help is much appreciated
I have lived in Michigan and Arizona in the US. No where I have ever been in this country is walkable. Please tell me which states are because frankly I find it hard to believe any are. Walkable is Japan. I lived on Japan for 5 years and everywhere was walkable. I never once felt the need for a car and I was all over Japan. Just one of many reasons why Japan is better than the US.
Hi Phil, I've got some name ideas for streets all across Verde Beach, if you'll be happy to implement some of them in the next episodes or stream: Einstein Blvd. Queen Str. Yitshak Rabin Road Charles De Gaulle Avenue Elizabeth Blvd. Frank Underwood Str. Costanza Way Cantstandya way (should intersect Costanza way) Elaine Str. Kramer Str. Newman Lane
The idea of developing the nature reserve is controversial. If it was real life, I would obviously be against it but in the game it might be acceptable
I enjoy Verde Beach. BUT, I find myself getting frustrated with no mods. Clearwater County is better. You've got network multitool, and move it, etc for when you need it. It just lets you do things right instead of compromising. I would LOVE another series. Clearwater is my favorite thus far. But..... maybe something like Salt Lake City Utah? Masterplanned, mountains, big highways, etc?
20:29 - All the houses along that ridge could do with fences... otherwise add "Watch for falling children" signs on the road below.
It would be really cool if you put another wildlife overpass where the highway borders the rock in Oak Nature Reserve. That way it leads into the reserve and you could landscape some of that hillside
Second! I love this idea!

When you build out of 25 tiles thing might go wrong and don't function properly
I really like the idea of a lightly modded (primarily utility mods rather than assets) build. Where maybe the extent of extra assets is something like the Vanilla+ road pack.

At 23:57 the boat clips the bridge, so you may want to consider raising the bridge. Love your stuff and looking forward to the next episodes!

Ya gotta love that Oak Nature Reserve is almost entirely filled with palms...

Sorry I am late to this comment...
"Verde Beach is a very slow burning series."
🔥🤣 I sincerely hope the pun was intended.
I feel as a cyclist the ramp needs to be longer, maybe twice as long for a shallower gradient.
1:29:53 Clearwater Way becomes Olive Blvd just before it reaches the bridge intersection.
Video started buffering only when you started talking bad about TH-cam's limitations. #conspiracy. 😁
you should use extra vehicle mod in C/S, increase vehicles from 16384 to 65536.
1:38:34 I like watching the VODs as they were when you first streamed---with minimal editing to fix wait times and other stuff.
1:24:11 Took the newly renamed Burton Street and changed it immediately to Gotham Street.

Verde Beach does this at some extent, but not 100%.
Oh, I should have watched this so I could recommend a road name local to me, Chicken Dinner Road.
Too bad it's Verde Beach and Vanilla. Two words: Quay Anarchy. ;) Cheers! Great Video As Always!
Need to name a road by Hamilton “Curdsen Way”

Hey Phil, we would also love a small front facing camera on the screen somewhere. 😉
The big ben should be named after the queen
Who’s from Des Moines? I am but wasn’t watching the live stream. Been trying to find someone to do a build with
It would be cool if you made up only walkable City if that is possible

It fixed itself
Is there any way to block the constant "You're the real MVP pop ins"? I find them really distracting and can never make it through a stream.

Is a loss for the anglosphere not to the world
The idea of developing the nature reserve is controversial. If it was real life, I would obviously be against it but in the game it might be acceptable
Perhaps you could make a memorial garden for Queen Elizabeth II

I'm incredibly disappointed you didn't do as everybody kept asking and name something for Queen Elizabeth
Que walls ruin the natural scenery, just more concrete to stare at.
I wish I was available to join🥲 But being an European in Saudi Arabia doesn’t make it easy😅
