      dont
those magnets are too weak youll just knock them away from the correct time if you try to feel them without being very careful everytime. which sounds like a major hassle.
      overdesigned garbage.
just go for a simpler, cheaper braille watch that has fewer moving parts and is designed for function over form.

They're such dependable timepieces, back in the early 90's _Michael Schumacher himself_ stuck Casio watches onto his steering wheels to have an in-car stop-watch while qualifying. And keep in mind this was before digital displays became the standard in F1 so this was very forward-thinking.

My friend is visually impaired and he actually has one of these! I didn’t expect to see it here!
According to him, this watch is really useful because he can be very discrete (even more discrete than sighted people sometimes) while checking the time and doesn’t have to bring his wrist so close to his eyes every time he has to check the time
Also, his watch was dropped in a pool once, and it still works fine, so I think a quick dip is fine, thankfully

My dad is blind and for his last birthday he got a wristwatch. It looks just like a normal watch but he can pop it open like a pocket watch and just feel where the pointers are. So I feel like the one you have is just an excuse to make a watch for the visually impaired with a larger price tag. It don’t need to be too fancy.
Also, quite funny actually, my dad learned Braille a couple of months ago but can’t use his left hand because of the hard skin on his fingertips from playing the guitar for 40 odd years, but still he claims he can read Braille faster than he ever could read with his eyes.

It’s such a nice watch, because it’s accessible for just about anyone with a wrist. Blind, hard of hearing, literally anyone who can wear a watch can wear this and know what’s going on. Plus, it looks cool as shit for the people who can see, whether it’s you or the people around you. No noise, nothing too bulky, normal battery and design, and doesn’t need to be fluent in braille either, unlike other blind oriented touch based watches. Not every blind person knows braille, either because it’s difficult, or because they don’t have the time or energy to learn a new alphabet and memorise it. This can help when you either don’t know braille yet, or find difficulty learning it in general.

I kinda hope you are getting more into watches. You might like a Bulova Accutron (especially the “transparent” Space View models). They were the most accurate watches before quartz came around. They kept time electrically with a tuning fork that oscillates 360 times a second. You can actually hear it when its running and the secondhand sweeps smoothly across the dial. I have one but unfortunately its broken…

Man, I really want one of these, but I'm not sure if I can justify buying nice watches at the moment. I want to support this company because while I am sighted, my eyesight is so bad I literally can't see further than maybe 3 inches in front of my face without glasses, so my eyesight feels like a disability at times, especially when I wake up in the morning and can't see any defined shapes until I find my glasses.
This looks like a very high quality watch, and it is certainly a cause which I would love to support, but 300+ dollars for a watch is a bit tough to stomach for me, especially with clocks all around me all day long like you mentioned in the intro.
Maybe someday I'll get one, I'd sure be glad to own one.

That is indeed a neat looking watch.
In case anyone needs a description: the whole watch is made from brushed, matte silver metal. The body is round but thicker than most other watches. The band made from a lot of tiny metal segments has a woven look to it and moves more like a stiff fabric than a metal wristband made with larger segments would. The markings on the watchface are actually very similar in look to other minimalist watches, small strips for every five minutes, larger ones at the three, six and nine. The twelve is a triangle. Aside from being slightly raised these markings and the crown of the watch are also the only parts of the corpus that are polished smooth and reflect light, making them visually distinct details. Inside of the markings is a circular recessed track in which the minute hand ball bearing sits. The channel with the hour hand ball bearing runs along the outside of the corpus. The balls are also smooth and shiny. Yes, I chuckled typing that out.
Overall I would describe it as a minimalist, modern and industrial style time piece. It is unique and visually distinct but not in a flashy or outrageous way. Unless someone takes a close look at it or is a watch nerd they may very well not even realise that it is not a standard design. It's classic enough that it would go very well with a suit or in a business context. On a dainty wrist or with a more feminine outfit it would be stronger contrast and therefore more eyecatching.

If your getting into the watch world, look up the Bulova accutron space view. The original one from the 60’s used 2 tuning forks to resonate at just the right frequency to convert electricity to mechanical motion of the hands. Was one of the first stepping stones towards quartz watches and were the most accurate wrist watches at the time.

Honestly, being able to know the time without glancing at your watch is a super cool thing to be able to do. Apple watches have a feature I think called "taptic time" where if you hold two fingers to the watch face, it'll tap out the digits in either binary or decimal on your wrist. Switched to a galaxy watch cuz I have an Android now and can't find something like it, it's the main feature I've been missing.

The best bit about a watch like this is that it probably has WAY fewer moving parts than a traditional analog watch. If you've ever seen watch repair, disassembly, or the like, you know that an analog watch is insanely complicated with lots of teeny-tiny gizmos that you have to know exactly where they all go, or, heaven forbid, know what they're called in case one of those tiny, delicate parts needs to be replaced because you lost it in the carpet, it broke, or it rusted to nothing.
This guy looks like it would just be a set of timing gears and a couple of magnets, which would still be a lot of parts, but not literally dozens of them, including actual synthetic sapphires. Excellent!

Finally I can nerd out! I’m partly blind, and I work with the blind and visually impaired on the US. Your point about the SCREAMING WATCHES is very true, and that’s why many fully blind people don’t actually look at their phones. Many phones and computers have a feature called screen curtain that blacks out the screen, but allows audio, so they can discreetly use their phone with just gestures and headphones. I knew a girl who hardly too her phone out of her pocket because she could use it IN HER POCKET.
Assistive technology in general is crazy because it’s this paradox of genius and “why doesn’t something exist to fix this simple problem”. I think videos like this are very important because the more sighted people are aware, the more support we can get to help us find new solutions. On that note, fun fact, VoiceOver (apple’s screen reader) allows you to use an Apple Watch without touching it, just hand gestures. It’s super cool and I advise you look up a TH-cam or find a buddy who knows how to do it.
Final note, Braille is actually only known by 10% of blind people and is falling out of fashion as companies like Apple make technology a better option, and Apple is the leader is mainstream accessibility that’s FREE. Braille has several “grades”, with higher grades being more compact, and some being specialized for things like coding and math. It makes things very confusing and a generally outdated system
    Love to see it!
(P.S. my favorite part was watching dankpods trying to read Braille sideways)
