Tom Ellard has a good chat between the songs and makes fun of the french speaking people in the audience.
He also gets annoyed at Stephen (or the local sound guy) for using too much echo.

I wasn't at this show. My passport had been stolen in Spain and I couldn't continue to travel. I wasn't the sound engineer, that would have been the local guy at the venue, I did do the visuals, with Tom, and they would have normally come from my video synthesiser as I was on stage as one of the band. The visuals here are only a tape replay.
Wow! Thank you so much for the information Stephen.
I’m honored to your reply and to take part of your story. You are a huge inspiration to my visual works. ❤️ I wish you all the best. Once again, Thank You!
Hi Stephen, thanks for the videos, great material. Been looking for info about the tour since I saw you performed on the town I was born. Were these documents stolen in a city near Valencia on October 11th 1986? As I'm aware these weren't specially good times, really sorry if this offends you or some other members from the band, not pretending.
@@actvsense Hello I'm a friends of Stephen's and he says "that sounds about right. It was definitely in Valencia, around that date." Because he had no passport he had to be smuggled into France and back into Britain.
it’s a great pleasure and honour to read from you. I was at a concert in Zurich at about the same era, together with Skinny Puppy and à;Grumh. By the way, the latter group were forbidden to perform at the Rote Fabrik ever again, for known reasons I think.
This concert was a tremendous experience for me. There were, I guess, three TV sets. Small TV sets, not to compare with today’s screens. But the impact with your visuals was immense. It left a deep memory inside me. These small TV’s were the perfect visual accompaniment to the equally brilliant music. Mr. Ellard was alone, he apologised for that, but went on. It was marvellous. Exceptional. Mesmerising.
I would like to express me deep thanks to you. Your work, together with the music, is real avantgarde. Even with modern tools I have never been able to even approach your artistry. Tools alone don’t make an artist, one has to master the craft. And you are a master.
Years passed. I’ve learned a bit about video synthesis. There’s an interesting sub-forum on Muffwiggler that I followed some time. But I’ve spent about 5k on my modular (music) system, and don’t have the resources or time to buy or build my own analogue videosynthesiser. Lots of software exists, I’ve done Resolume projections (privately, not commercially), there are good iPad apps … still, your work is a huge inspiration to me.
May our ways, including the Severed Heads, cross each other some time.
Thank you very much.
I listened to this song on Spotify with my grandma in the car and when it got to the part where the guy is narrating a story she was like "you listen to weird music."
😂😂😂
It's one of the most beautiful songs i've ever heard!
plus love the car vid stuff from the Capricorn One movie 😀
Live Metropol Aachen 1986 langer Abend wars Skinny Puppy,Agrumh und Severed Heads.
Good bit of music history preserved, this. Nicely done. 👍
See the last Show in Antwerpen, Belgium. One of the Highlights in my life time
Oh man, I'm old :o)
This thing growed with me... Still love this track.
This particular version is mixed awesome, I like the FM bass pronouncement very much in this version. I always thought it could be beefed up on the album and 12 inch versions.
try the Joakim Edit, it's available on 12" single and has a little bit more punch and some additional effects
Thanks, one of the most unerrated bands of that era, overpayed their 12 inch over and over again
Love it so much ❤️😱
DAMN Tom - It doesn't get much better than this :)
Fantastic! Thanks for share!
love to seen them live missed them play a rare show in the Uk as not well !!! Dam
So great, that you posted this. Thank you. Great video.
Cool
Emily Cane will never be forgotten.
Best version of the song in my opinion, remix 3 I believe it's called.
Why does Ellard hate the track? It made a shit load of money for him.
And? To an Artist Money may not be everything.
It may have distracted people from his other works, or attracted people to the shows who only wanted to hear the track. That's my guess! Either way, Tom seems to be doing well creatively despite that.
Lots of musicians get fed up with playing their hits.
Because there is always a difference of opinion in what you perceive as your best work and that of the publics opinion.
You might well ask Tom Hanks why he never mentions Bachelor Party or why Bowie wouldn't play The Laughing Gnome.
For a better example the UK show 'Big Train' did a sketch Ralph McTell sings 'Streets of London' - watch and it sums up the general publics attitude to music and the frustration it causes the artist.
They played a 'Dead eyes opened' reboot on Triple J for a good few months back in late '94 and I think it may of made it on to the hottest 100 for that year or some affiliate compilation but not entirely sure, that's when I first heard and discovered SH and I was only 14 and a half at the time, another great track from SH that came out the following year (1995) was 'Heart of the party' which also got good airplay on JJJ, I sure miss those days now.
