I got to meet him twice back in the 80s at a bar called Dillinger's in Cedar MN. It was a outdoor concert and hot a heck out that first time he was hired to do the show by the bartenders mother that owned the bar then . Half way through the concert the band took a break and he had his own tent to sit & cool off & me and and a good friend of mine asked if he wanted a booze drink or beer pop & he said yeah get me a whisky coke so we said ok & walked out way through the crowd of people in the bar and being Terese knew us she let us up front and we headed back to Ricks tent and hung out with him for a while . It was basically the same thing that following year because he recognized us as well as his road crew .
Gary would love it, as would ALL the rest of them. I been following these guys since the plane went down, prolly before but I was very young. You couldn't hide from them on the radio back in the 70's, no matter where you tried
Damn that is bad ass! Rickey Medlocke is one hell of a guitar player and a great singer too. I think he is probably one of the most underrated guitar players in rock music.
And write some new music seriously you've been playing guitar for how long I think no offense to Richie but destroying Blackfoot😢 Best of luck! My personal music has moved on! Be Safe
Saw Rickey Medlocke with Blackfoot back in 1982 at a day long Festival at the New England Dragway in Epping, N.H., along with Cheap Trick, Krokus and The Joe Perry Project. THAT'S Rock and Roll. Rickey did the five notes from "Close Encounter Of The Third Kind", and it being a crystal clear day, I'm sure it got out there.
OHH "HELL YES", I do!!! And as far as southern rock bands go, Ricky Medlock and Blackfoot have always been in my top 5 favorite southern rock bands, probably # 2 behind another one he's been involved with for quite some time now, but Lynryd Skynyrd, but I don't know if I can even put one above the other??? I think I'll just put both bands at #1!!! (Ernie Wilber) 🤘👹🤘✌️
Plenty will say no Ronnie, no Skynyrd. I won't argue, but they did what they could with Gary, Billy, and Leon, and now they're all gone. There is no Lynyrd Skynyrd anymore. It's time to put a halt to the cover band cash grab.
It's good to see Rickey's still out there rockin'! I saw Blackfoot and Foghat at Compton Terrace way back in 1980. Great Show!
Saw that tour.👍🏼

Proper old school rocker,RM. He,s been round the block a few times!
What a talented Man. I was lucky to have met him many yrs ago. Still Rocking and still has a great voice.
Love Blackfoot, saw them in mid 70s, great band
Rickey is one of the southern rock grandfather's
I saw Blackfoot open for Kiss in 1976 on the rock and roll over tour in New Orleans they were GREAT!!!
Would have loved to see that Concert….but I was only 6 years old. Didn’t know Blackfoot and Kiss toured together.
Blackfoot was very heavy though. Love Blackfoot

“Highway Song” is still one of the best songs
Awesome! 🤘🎸🔥
I wish he would sing his Black😮foot classics with Lynyrd Skynyrd
Yeah, like train train .
Highway song is a good one
that's prolly what he played the night they filmed this
I wish he’d sing it with Hargrett and Walker.
And write some new music seriously you've been playing guitar for how long I think no offense to Richie but destroying Blackfoot😢

My personal music has moved on!

I'm sure it was a hell of a concert, loved the video
It’s also a great venue, but it’s SO far.

Great song to cover. Rock the fuck on Rickie.
Bad Ass
Bring the vocals up Mr. Soundman.
Nice Gibson / Wizard combo Darkhorse.
It's an Ibanez. Not a Gibson.
@@lordofthe80s64Looks like a Gibson Les Paul Access
I guess no one likes southern rock anymore huh ?... 436 views in a day . Now taylor swifty is a real hit . lol
Trailor
They should have Rickey do the singing instead of Johnny he sings better
Hey, man. I definitely agree with you on that
Plenty will say no Ronnie, no Skynyrd. I won't argue, but they did what they could with Gary, Billy, and Leon, and now they're all gone. There is no Lynyrd Skynyrd anymore. It's time to put a halt to the cover band cash grab.
Medlocke should be just Blackfoot
Who are all the homeless guys on stage with Rickey?
He doesnt need all that clutter on stage.
Not Blackfoot
Rickey left blackfoot because he thought he was MTV next solo artist now he needs blackfoots music and rip off skynyrds music to be himself
