Thanks so much for sharing this, jeesquivel08. Its not fun worrying every day and wondering if this is the time the delay will turn into the car not starting at all. It's only been one day since I tried your solution but it appears what you have shared has solved my problem. Thanks a lot. Good karma for you, I hope.
Mike L. that is so awesome! I sold my car at 200,000 miles and that problem never happened again! I loved my Charger but it was time for a new one! The next problem I had was the air conditioner was not switching between hot and cold. It was stuck on hot. In my town that is horrible with 115-degree temperatures. The problem was behind the dashboard. The box that switches between hot and cold was broken. I had to force it to cold in the summer than to hot in the winter. It was going to cost me $200 dollars to replace the whole box.
You’re a hero man! Helped my friend out with this fix after his car wouldn’t start in a parking lot. There was an auto parts shop in the parking lot and we fixed it in no time. I feel like mechanic now!
Been having this problem with my '14 charger. I'm going to try this and follow up with results. Either way this video was helpful and THANK YOU for MAINTAINING a GODLY attitude at ALL times!!!
I HAD THIS PROBLEM. My car was dead and wouldn't start 2-3 times a week. Here is what worked for me. Ever since I began doing this my car has never failed to start immediately. I tried most of the tips given here in the comments section. Sometimes they worked, sometimes not. Here's what I do. Prior to attempting to start your car simply take your key fob and cycle through the lock unlock sequence a couple times. This has ALWAYS worked for me. It seems to dissipate the static interference between the electrical anti-theft system and the starter relay unit. Voila! Try it!
Thank you so much. I’m currently having the same issue. On my way to the gym now once I get there I’m gonna swap the fuses out. See if that’s my problem.
Thank you so much, you really just helped me out with this one,my car just did it to me at work after working all night.thanks for the video.#lovemydodge
God, I hope this works in the morning, lol... I checked all the fuses(not like yours, my TIPM is full! like 60-70 fuses) but of course you can't see the circuit in those ones. I'll swap it with something else tom. fingers crossed. tx for vid
At least yours starts up I just changed the starter, alternator, relays are good been kept up on maintenance. It went out for work one day last July then 💥 nothing. It has high mileage but still 🤔
The way to test if it's really the relay is to use a paper clip and tap into two pins that will start the crank up. You do this on the relay socket after you pull it out. Look online to see what I'm talking about. If your car still doesn't crank then it's something else like the ignition switch or the starter itself.
Would this work on my '15 challenger? I just got a new battery and my car cranks but won't start. I narrowed it down to the fuel pump, alternator or starter.
My friend got a charger 2008, sometimes it doesn’t start right away you hear the engine started to run but then it stops, but it works after next try, I wish I know what causes this problem
Why is that red light staying on on the dash?? Mine is on and it won't start nor will it turn over. The mechanic said that it's the ignition itself that's actually bad.
@@jeesquivel08 I see. But this guy is telling me the ignition switch because when I got the car the key was all taped up. Said it's the ignition 😩. Is any fuses underneath the dash?? My battery and fuse box is in the trunk.
@@ms.m.murphy3453 no the fuses that need to be changed is the hood. If the key is tape it might simply be the key that needs to be changed. The key is like $150 with someone to program it.
@@jeesquivel08 I said that too but they need the car to program a new key. I live in Oregon haha EVERYTHING is very expensive here. I want to know about the red dot in your dash. That's what it coming up on mine all of a sudden and not it won't start. I'm wondering could it be the ign switch being that the key was broken when I bought the car now it's just not reading it anymore and the anti theft is on now
have a 2009 dodge journey that won't start had it towed to dealer put it on machine show nothing said it was the battery put 1 in paid $400 brought it home started 3 times then nothing had lights and radio towed back to dealer we had a recall Ro 3 done on it this all started after this was done any ideas please
I also have a 2009 Dodge Journey. It may be the neutral safety switch (range sensor). It's located in the transmission. It won't come up in a diagnostic test. The dealers will try telling you that it's the starter, battery or alternator. Try turning the fob key to the on position and starting the jeep on neutral. It this starts the jeep, the range sensor is the problem.
he got a starter relay.. he keeps calling it a fuse. it is NOT a fuse but a relay. Go to auto parts store and ask for a relay switch for the starter (starter relay switch).
My issue is around 5 seconds to start, but i see a lightning bolt and battery lighting on my right side of the dash illuminating and then goes away when it starts up.
That's actually a relay switch.. not a fuse. fuses pop when they go bad and thats it. So if it was a fuse.. then your starting issues would not be intermittent, However relay switch can become sluggish before they fail all together. the sluggishness is what causes the intermittent behavior. Relays and fuses are two different things.
I didn't hear any delay. plus hard to hear with the key chime next time close the door lol but sounded just fine all 3 times. now when you have a dragging sound then make a video. my battery is going bad and went start mine I had to jump it off but nothing wrong with yours
MrYukon04 I don't want to be famous or make the video for my personal gain. I simply wanted to show a problem that was giving me a lot of heartache and the fix that saved me tons of money. Now, this issue fixed my car but I am not saying it will fix other people's car. It worked for me and from I am reading it has helped others.
I have about 185,000 miles on it and that has been one of the biggest issues that I have had. I have had to change out my Coolant Bleeder Housing because the original one blew up. That was a pain in the butt. The problem I am having now is the cool air does not come out. I have checked the pressures, the air compressor, the air condenser, but I think it is the dash temperature control unit or the Air Vent Actuator got stuck on hot air. So I might make a new video on that replacement.
Ok well, this fix worked for me. Like I said before it might not be what your car is dealing with but it worked for me and I have not had the problem since. The starter relay was the problem on my car.
