The coach’s actions can cause trauma for this child. No one deserves the humiliation and disrespect she displayed.
Idc what type of coach you are, you would not like anyone in your child’s face like that. I’ve been on a team, I understand being passionate but that was disrespectful. That’s why the other coach tried to talk to her calmly, she knows she was wrong. I give Cadence the utmost respect for continuing to cheer after being humiliated like that. This was wrong!!!!!

This is is an embarressment to the cheer community. I am a cheer coach as well and Im starting an All Star Gym here in Greensboro next year. As a black woman, my goal is to train more black girls in this sport and I want to have a team full of different races and ethnicities. THIS is what they expect of black coaches. THIS is fitting the stereotype. THIS is what I will NEVER do to my girls. The team I coach now is FULL of first time cheerleaders. They have made a lot of mistakes and I NEVER curse nor yell at them. I simply TEACH them, thats what a GOOD coach does. I work to enhance their skills and I make sure that I lead in a POSITIVE way. I also make sure that I take cheer coach training classes in my free time, rule number 1 is to lead with POSITIVE COACHING. You MUST care about the mental health of these girls. This is toxic, unhealthy, and just down right TERRIBLE. I only watch for the girls and because I love cheer but the coaching style of this team is down right DISGUSTING!!!!!! Im sure they dont care because they are loving the views, likes, comments, and engagements online but please know that the seeds you are sewing within these girls will come back to bite you. Trust and belive this! And btw if this was my daughter, I would have laid some holy hands on this coach. Never in a million years will anyone talk to my chilld like this ESPECIALLY if I dont talk to her like this.

That's why her mom had to hold on to her t-shirt or tug on her shirt because she knew she was doing too much. So you holler at one child and say ( Phoebe will not say anything and tell her she has to speak louder.) It doesn't make sense. It's always Tya that cussing them out like that. Like is it that serious? And it makes me wonder when she did cheer or any other sport as a kid was she treated like that? Who used to talk to you like that to think it's okay to talk to children like that? She did the same thing to Destiny, and that was a medical issue Destiny was having. Like how is this motivating?

hell naw you can get frustrated and yell but she crossed the line getting that close and talking to her in that tone, and pointing in her face. If this was my coach I would pull her aside and tell her I didn't appreciate her talking to me like that.

Coach Tya, there's no excuse for you yelling at that child the way you just did. Your mother had to pull you away due to the disrespect towards that child. I've coached for 27 years and had you yelled at my child like that you would've met me after practice.
You all yell and curse at these kids just for them to still look the same. A mess. Motions aren't there, walks aren't there, even SPIRIT looks a mess. You all have some nerve to treat them the way y'all do. This is NOT tough Coaching this is unprofessional and toxic. This is NOT passion. Even the girls aren't passionate about cheering. You can see it on their faces.
At some point, as a coach, you need to sit back and self-reflect. This is unacceptable and needs to be SHUT DOWN!

I know I don’t personally know everyone on the team. But I was watching Pheobe and I am so proud of her. She has done so much better and is shaking and stomping!!!! I just wanted to point that out because she got yelled at so much for not knowing what was going on around her but she adjusted and fixed it. I’m so proud of you Pheobe continue working hard!!

My first thought when I saw her today was the same Serena. She is standing taller and prouder. Her movements are convincing and strong. Some kids can do these things without thought and others it takes hard work and Phoebe looks as if she has been putting in some hard work indeed. Good for her x

I’ve literally been saying to myself, the same thing coach T said to Cadence. She has so much potential but holds back. I don’t like to compare the girls to each other, but I feel like Cadence and Alima should have a friendly rivalry with each other. Maybe because they started together. But they should on the same level, pushing each other to see who is going to do better or go harder. Cadence has it, it’s there. She just needs to break through the wall she has up.
I’m also waiting for the day y’all enter Alima, Cadence, and Jordan in a trio. Once Cadence and Jordan can hold their own with Alima. Chile, no one will want to step to the 3 of them. Because, baby it’s going to be 🔥🔥🔥.

I said this last episode Something is up with Journie this season.. she’s off. Don’t get me wrong she will FOREVER have a strong walk. But it’s like while she’s cheering and chanting she had a million other things going through her head. So she’s not all the way there at practice. She can be a mini Cheyenne I swear she just has to have the same energy doing everything else as she does walking. I need the season 3 Journie back

There’s a difference between constructive coaching and the idea of thinking that you have beat your kids down for them to preform. They’re young and you’re teaching them toxic ways to communicate and their perception of a relationship.
Coach T’s rant made no sense to me. I’ve rewatched this video multiple times and would never place my daughter in this squad due to Coach T’s attitude. I don’t like her attitude at all

When the coaches started dancing, I'm like yessssss!! Show em how it's done!! Y'all still got it!! Love this 💕💕💕 and it also shows realistic opinions when Kevin was making those comments. I been to a parade before and seen a whole team get booed, laughed at, and judged from the crowd, so this should definitely teach the girls a great lesson to keep on going even if side remarks are made from people. Enjoyed this! 🙂🙂

First off, if I was that girl's parent, I would've handled that coach woman to woman. You don't ever yell at a child, I don't care if she's in your care or not. That's unacceptable and honestly unprofessional. You're a coach, you do that job but to yell at a child, that's not your place. I honestly, want to give that girl a hug. Kevin’s just crazy. 😂 Love seeing him in front of the camera. Phoebe is on a whole other level! She has come so far and a lot of us counted her out and some even said she didn’t want to be there. She proved us wrong and I know she can prove the coaches wrong by showing them she knows the words and can vocalize them. This isn’t just cheerleading for her or something to do just to do, the lessons she’s learning by being on this team are going to help her become who she becomes now and as she gets older. Rooting for you girl!!!
To be Honest the Leaders like Alima yahari and Payton not even Try to lead when you see someone not doing anything go to them and help them out so they won't get in trouble or get yelled at be your sister keepers . To be honest complaining and help.. all have to remember yall was once in their shoes ..
They do correct! The girls just don’t listen, Payton told Candace to say the words and she ignored her. Also at a lot of girls started when Alima started, so there is no excuse. In a lot of videos you will see alima helping the girls to learn the cheer. You have to remember they don’t film the whole practice. You also can’t force someone to do something. They have to wanted for themselves.

@@godsanointedpraise idk If you watch other videos, they have pulled people to side. What really needs to happen is the coaches need to cut people. Some don’t even listen to the coaches. They shouldn’t have to keep pulling someone to the side when they have corrected them.

Alot of yall saying Kevin being mean . Listen when your in a parade there is going to be other cheer teams or majorette teams and they have their own music playing , and doing stomp and shake . And also the crowd is loud shouting , so the girls need to be prepared for distractions and also to be coached and take criticism, cause in the real world they don't baby anyone and everyone knows everyone so you don't want casting agents to remember you as the girl who was doing fool .

Been Watching a lot of the videos and I noticed that the coaches are very passionate. But today I really didn't like what I saw from Coach t. The adult had to come and try to pull you away because you were getting that frustrated with a child. Passionate or not that's a little too far. I know she wants what's best in all but if that was my child I don't think I would be able to watch her do what she did to cadence that's just my opinion. I know you frustrated when you know the kid got potential but that was a bit much. My opinion

I agree. I, too, have a daughter. And I wouldn't be able to hold that in. She would've met me after practice. There's no way she should be yelling at a child like that. They curse and tell at these girls every practice. I'm surprised they keep coming back. It's toxic and depressing at times to watch. Why are the parent allowing their children to continue to cheer around this?

Overall these coaches are just plain mean. You are not going to get more from your team by telling them how awful they are! I wouldn't even want to be on this team!

There should be one or two leaders that are coached on how to lead a parade (what to look for, what to call and when, spacing, pace, etc). Leading a parade is an intelligence (I was a baton twirler and captain of my team). It takes training to do it efficiently. I don't even understand why there were multiple people calling cheers, in front leading, and what not. If you are going to do that, the leader still needs to say what/when the cheer/chant is called so the person knows and there is a flow. How you gonna get mad about pauses/taking too long to call the next thing, when you have so many different people being responsible for calling cheers/chants?
I understand what Kevin was doing but it didn't work. All Kevin's heckling did was confuse them more. If you notice, they just started taking their cues on what to do from the "crowd". Obviously these girls have not been properly prepared. But then get yelled at for doing it wrong(were they told ahead of time that the music wasn't for them?).
All those complaints that the "leaders" had are reflections on the coaches, not the cheerleaders(except for them not saying the words). Leaders need to tell it like it is and stop blaming the other ladies. They were just as confused and messing up just as much. They need to tell the coaches that they need better communication and guidance. Getting mad at Kameron and Journee when they should have asked why they were in front in the first place? And if she is going to be up front, how could I have better prepared her for that role? I assumed they just turned around to get back down the street but that should have never been the case. Don't put them in a situation they haven't prepared for and then get mad when it all goes to (y'all know the word).
Coach tia u was sooo outta line you didn't have to raise yo anger and voice on her theres a thing between constructive learning and just yelling and cursing u should apologize for putting yo hands in that girl face instead of u talking to her in front everybody making a scene u could have done that after practice and talked to her mother u cant yell at her like she your child people are crazy about they kids remember that and try controlling the way u speak to the when ur angry this was so uncalled and out of character😐
I will be honest I don't care much for screaming in any child's face when wanting them to do differently and it is way more disrespectful as an adult to that than what you are saying she is disrespecting you with. BUT... I also know and understand that frustration from many years working as a voluntary youth worker and how when you constantly repeat yourself over and over it can and does get the better of you at times. My personal pet hate was not communicating that they wouldn't be coming to a meeting, organising things on your own time and cost to find on a specific day that kids knew they wouldn't be there as they chose to do something else even though in our eyes their first commitment on that evening was our group. It effects everyone and they just didn't care and would come back the next week and couldn't even apologise. So I do get coach Tia losing it but I do wish that she could find another way to express herself. (I am saying this was a bit of age, experience and wisdom from having ranted and raved myself. I wish I knew then the things I know now and many things I would have changed but hindsight is a wonderful thing lol)
Anyone who has ever done voluntary work whether cheer, youth groups, marching bands, uniformed organisations like scouts... You are unpaid. You are often doing a thankless job. You spend many hours organising and planning on top of your own work and family life. You do it because you want to. You do love it. But sometimes you need to see you are appreciated too and when the effort isn't put in your frustration can take over. You are only human.
