The whole map is owned by only 3 hardcore companies. Some of which are now selling Gorgan raid spots for tens of thousands of gold. This is not how to engage returning or new players...
They NEVER addressed the war situation. You are either in the small always warring community or you are not. There is no good path to get practice at wars without going up against pro companies and getting smashed. I know many people and even companies that fell apart and left the game because the war situation was terrible.Some sort of practice war or skirmish war system where companies could war against each other and practice without tyerritories changing hands would have saved thousands of players.
I don't know the science but I was told that you won't be able to "hit" as hard or function as well overall, whatever, until you hit gear score 695... Personally I'm at 683 and don't understand how some people just melt bosses and I still don't..I'm critting 4 and sometimes over 5K with a hatchet or spear
@@LionscubSaint In pve content gear score actually does make a large difference. Even just trying to speedrun the main story with stats and perks I liked vs GS that was straight up higher made the difference between struggling against Isabella and stomping her.
@@Zant5976 Gorgon Raid doesn't have any form of gearscore raiding like Mutations does, it's a myth. You can clear Gorgon with bis 675 just as well as you can with bis 700. People just don't understand how it works.
I've been seeing a lot of the newer players starting to quit because they feel like they are logging on, dumping hours into the game and not making any progression. Raids and other end game content being gatekept by the veteran community is killing the game all over again. I'm not just blaming the veterans, AGS shares in that blame just as much.

with the outrage i've seen and people leaving soon, i think they should get the roadmap out soon before the year ends; like... before December. Knowing AGS... they're gonna drop the roadmap in the 2nd or 3rd month of the new year... when we're 1/4 of the way through the year. They did that last year and dropped the roadmap like in late feb/early march if i remember and it pissed off a lot of people how late it was.
the fact that they gutted their own content with that 725 only in raid, making crafting + instances + openworld drops useless ensures to me that none of their staff playes the game. in most of the overhauled (angryearth) zones still dropping 625 named gear from 65+ mobs - they updated NOTHING in that sense.

Going for raid gear should be because the raid gear has exclusive perks and artifacts. Not the only source of getting 725 gear score. That's bad design. Encourage players to want to play your raid. Don't force them to do the raid just because its 725 gear score. That's artificial engagement. Not organic.
Why is everyone so obsessed with the 725. The bis builds will probably sit around 710-715 since perks matter more then 1-2% attribute bonus increase. Some of the best gear is still 700. Its hard cause ags needs to do a better job explaining this to people. That yes 725 gear has come out. But 700 gear with best in slot percs, is going to better then, 725 with bad percs. Percs matter more.
As someone who has come back the main problem I found is there is no mid game. Literally steam rolled to 700gs with no clue what I was doing. You get to the end way too fast. Rolling my 3 expeditions a day for the bonus cash you see so much cool content that is not relevant. I literally didn’t know any of the mechanics in glacial tarn until M2 as I didn’t need to know them to win. Also I’m at then end game trying to get 725 gear but also can’t craft anything as you get there so fast there’s no point level your crafting but now I’m stuck where I need prismatics or matrices but can’t craft them
the matrices are the least of the issue even though they have a stupid requirement of 2 crafting skills at 250, because for almost all upgrades that require a matrix, they'll also require Chromatic seals from the faction vendor, which will also cost you another 5k gold every single day if you don't want to miss getting any and end up with not enough to upgrade all the gear you're going for, this is noticeably far worse for named items than artifacts, since it requires 1 for an artifact but 3 of them for a named item, that makes the cost to upgrade a named item and change the perk at 15k flat gold, before matrix cost and before the craft mod cost and also the actual craft cost itself. it's very frustrating being time gated and locked out of your progress like that.
they should rework expeditions for better drops once u get on harder mutations. I see ppl doing that only to drop the artifact. Another missed content is open world mobs/ elite areas. At least in my server, the group goes for the chest runs and sometimes dont even care about mobs, noone wanna kill a single mob in the game lol, they just want to open chests.
Yeah they streamlined the leveling way too much especially for console players who have never played. They don’t know what they are doing. Also cross server pvp with legacy players and fresh start players was so dumb. Talk about driving players away from pvp when you don’t know how to gear properly and the next guy has been playing for 3 years with every item in the game.
I genuinely thought AGS will be updating the game more frequently after console release but it seems like we're back to the way it was. Lack of bug fixes and general updates will slowly kill the game again.
Sure, they didn't do it in 3 years but they are going to do it now for console users who don't even know how to open a browser to complain about how they are being scammed.

PvE has less endgame content after the update. There are only 2 endgame raids that are significantly time gated in terms of loot meaning there is no reason for the average player to replay them. There are 10+ amazing mutated expeditions which have been completely gutted due to the awful combat changes and lack of endgame loot. It sucks that a content update actually reduced the amount of endgame content PvE has
The fact that no other loot drops in Gorgons after your first weekly run is a very stupid decision. None of the mobs drop anything, no mini bosses, etc. there’s zero point to run it more than once per week unless you just want to test building there or help other people. They need to fire Scot Lane asap. I’m sure he’s behind all these decisions

Completely agree about the feeing alienated when it comes to late game content. Unless you’re close friends with a group or a healer you pretty much have a 1:10 chance at a raid group invite. Solo play is non existent after you finish the story and get the trade skills up which cost tons of gold by yourself.
tbf the hatchet tech exploit whatever it is, (light light throw cancel light light) is veeeeeeeery old already, just that no one used hatchet because the tracking of it was non-existent and it was unplayable.
I play on xbox and loved new world beta and early game it was so fun and i thought it was a new game for everyone, but then when it became time to get into the end game, we were completely shut out. The superiority complex was insane. We couldn't take full advantage or play with the market, raids, join companies or wars because everyone knew everything and everyone already. Completely skipping most content and making console feel like late losers for not knowing anything, Everyone was cliqued up so yall got it. Biggest gripe is that either the devs are complete dogshit at their job or the engine is complete dogshit and makes the dev time wayy longer or a combination. mostly disagree - i think its ags fault here. firstly - they mixed the main fresh server content with legacy players (opr,arenas), wtf is a brand new player to pvp gonna have fun getting smacked for 10+ games. Especially since the legacy players never had to go through that process themselves. Ags should have mixed the matchmaking at least a month or so later. arguments for 'get good' are simply ignorant and invalid. secondly - the fact they made console only servers a settings button in game you have to press is just troll...who tf is gonna know that when on homescreen searching for worlds. Imagine if AGS put console only servers in the homescreen (consoles happy playing with other noobs who have no fking clue whats going on). fresh start servers with no legacy matchmaking (returning players happy as majority of players have trash gear except tryhard companies). Legacy servers (legacy players cant complain they are missing out on smacking noobs, but they can still do raids/opr/arenas as normal with other people who are experienced therefore are happy) And then after a month or so, they start merging the servers or whatever... Surely this is just common sense

You are by far the most informative and IN DEPTH compared to everyone else. You know so much about this game. And seem to be the only person who talks about things so deep into game.
As a solo player, I've given up on the Hive, as no one will invite me because I haven't finished the raid. I have completed the 1st boss and had the 2nd boss down to 25% health. All of this was done the first week in pugs. I also have difficulty devoting 3-4 hours for the raid. That being said, I believe that the people who put the time in should get the best gear, which should be hard to get. As Mecrow has stated, because the new endgame (Hive) is not really something I can participate in, I will eventually leave because there is nothing left for me to do. I absolutely love this game, but unless they bring something to the less hardcore player, they will lose more and more players.
I understand that you're a solo player, but it's seriously worth the effort to join a company. I imagine you already know that the raid isn't especially difficult, you just need a consistent group of players. I'm solo myself but joined a company, cleared the raid twice, and got my desired raid artifacts all in the past week. Everyone's a bunch of nerds and dads on this game, I'm sure you'll find a place to call home.
I started on Rosa you are exactly right people are selling slots into war skill doesn’t matter there is a core who play on 5+ servers and block out others unless you use your wallet and others are selling runs into slots raids posts into discord saying if you play with anyone on blacklist your banned from end game content so much more so all ags did is give company leader’s ability to sell and block reg players from 725
For sure m3 should be getting 725. It will help solo players do team play in a small a group, then once they have mastered that the raids shouldn't seem so bad
My biggest frustration is that I thought I was starting fresh, expecting a fair chance to compete. Instead, I joined after the initial rush, only to find myself up against players on legacy servers with fully maxed-out gear. On top of that, the mutation rotations aren’t functioning properly, which makes it nearly impossible to gear up effectively.
I’ve played since PC beta. I took a few breaks and was on a break and came back for this “relaunch”. It’s nice. But they have to do something. iWork full time and have kids so I play after work and weekends when I can. It’s to hard to find a group for gorgon. They need group finder. I’m only at 715 at the moment.
I dont really understand why i need to run elemental band on every weapon and build? I got this artifact, upgraded it fully, but on most elemental dmg builds such as boltcaster, firestaff, void, even fuckin mjolnir hammer i have empower cap allready. Whats the point? Please explain.
More empower and people do not ward towards random elemental dmg. If 30/50 people in a war run slash everyone will ward heavily to slash. So convert to ele, use ele band, and there’s not as strong of a counter.
i jumped back in for fresh start again , but my friends that i played with didnt comeback so for me its been a solo experience . but i havent been racing to endlevel ive been playing it slowly and enjoying the solo experience . though i have been playing other titles that have come since the relaunch . ive played it regularly . will i continue to play it once i get to the level cap ? i dont know . but i have been seeing a slight decline but my server is fairly active so there is that . i dont know if new world can plateau and stablize at a health pop or not or will AGS need to do more
Hit max level a while ago, gear score only 707 now. Takes a week+ just to get 1 item up... Can't join Raid (trying but not getting included into parties) Can't join main Faction companies (leaders don't interact or respond been trying for weeks) Can't pvp, perma swarms with firestaff lol All that is left for my late game so far was grind chest runs/ 3vs3 arena. Maxed riding, maxed all weapons etc.

Wanna ask u something since u mentioned FS dots being strong, i have 420 int + fire dmg ring and one harnessing and my dots are doing about 89 dmg usually, so is that considered strong? Cause to me it seems rather weak, though i play FS in OPRs only, maybe the dmg is nerfed there? I'm using ignited runeglass and lifetaker aswell
You mentioned and its true a lot of live service gaming studios are focused on where the most profit is now, rather than look for revenue generating creatively from player retention measures. They know their biggest revenue stream comes from enticing new players to purchase (and pay for subs in some games)-which is why AGS invested so heavily into console and reworking the story and on-boarding and calling it ARPG and etc, and why their marketing/communication is the way it is atm. Other MMO's have done this also. ESO a prime example how even though they have MORE endgame and midgame content and more things to do in their game in general than NW (ESO been around for 10 yrs), their reward structure for the massive time investment into that endgame is very poor compared to their cash shop and the money they will keep coming if they market to the new player base initial purchases and ongoing DLC purchases- and promoting the benefits of their subscription payments to that newer base. etc
It’s because it’s easy to cater to hyper casuals. They toss some red meat to us to test for lotr with this re release and then they go back to lotr (or as I expect, slacking off as a team and not knowing wtf to do because they can’t code and need to outsource everything)
It was optimized, but that optimization introduced a lot of bugs/exploits. There is also some new content like a new raid and matchmaking rating for pvp.
Thanks for the update. I had been watching this from the bench and pretty much it seems like there is no reason to return. The problem with New World is shortsightedness of AGS, and it seems like that got worse.
The raid gate keeping is going to do it for me. Game been out a few weeks and it’s already “must link hive token” or you pay $30,000 for a carry. Well they’re welcome to spend their time raiding for a game that is going to die in a few months again.
Yep. From a I did the raid 20 times player perspective they want a 30-45 min run not a 5 hour run but that completely prevents other players from getting involved in the raid.
Try organizing. Make a company for PVE. Look up mechanics. Post in recruitment that you're looking for people new to the raid to learn it. Don't rely on other people to waste their time.
I set up a company and recruited 100 new console and PC players, they were happy to join. In a month and a half 95% of gamers offline! I recruited new players and the new players are offline!

I think what they need to bring back is mutations doing m3s used to drop endgame gear you could use in war then sell the gear you didn't need I feel like doing anything apart from m2s now just isn't worth it maybe m1s just to get the gs for m2s but still people wanting to run dungeons especially mutated used to be a big part of peoples daily login that a vast majority could do and they basically gutted that
The terrible thing is they want to do this new "seasonal world" model kind of like 'Leagues' in Path of Exile or Diablo. As it stands currently from a player's perspective whose played several years; the devs don't have the experience, innovation, or the studio size to continuously make 'new and refreshing' ways to play the game every 3 months. The first season isn't even a new concept, they're literally recycling original/alpha stages of New World where you dropped gear on death. With the remarketing of "Action RPG" its looks like they're trying to pivot to be 'path of exile-like'. I just don't have faith that they'll produce. It bothers me that we still play this bug/exploit filled, half broken of a game and people seem to be fine with that. What happened to standards?
Analyze on spot. I didn't play NW:A because why would I after 5k in the game and nothing new really. Since the June announcement I've been saying AGS was trying to get some extra money before moving to LotR (or any other new project we don't know about), and I still think it's the case, 1 month after Aeternum release. Hippos are also an indicator that they wanna make money short term and that's about it. Milk the playerbase while it's not yet too low.
I've avoided the aeternum completely because i've seen this cycle in new world before... And last year it was way worst. I mean, they guttered their own roadmap and i kinda get the feeling they are going to do it again. There was a video by scott before the announcement of aeternum that he stated "players dont actually want what they ask for" and that was it for me...
Plenty of people will do raids. the issue is that sandworm requires 20 people, and new world has on average one of the dumber mmo playerbases. Unless you aren’t in an already organised company, you probably won’t ever get to do it
I’m new to NW (Console) The the things that will kill the game for me is knowing I don’t get chosen for raids etc because I’m a console player and everyone wants someone that can take advantage of macro’s and knowledge of bugs/exploits when I cannot. I get left out of a lot of things

@ You’d be surprised on my server yellow faction are a bunch of PC players who made a new character on fresh and ONLY allow bow in war if you’re using the heavy exploit. same thing with hatchet pretty degenerate, but they own 90% of the map
The 725 grind killed it for me, I'm the top bruiser in my company in every war I've been in and even I couldn't get company members to help me complete the raid so I'm stuck.
100% agree with that content issue they make people wait 1 year but it takes 1 month for people to master the content and then it becomes repetitive not to mention there servers can hardly handle races that have more then 200 players involved
They could make so much better ideas with pvp zone. Make storage chest you can buy with tokens, trophy craft mods you can buy, so much stuff like this would draw so much attention to it. Doesn’t even have to be sellable. Just a way to get items without having to do pve if you don’t want to.
Im an oldschool runescape player and honestly this games endgame isnt for people that arent die hard into this game. The player base depending on which server you join makes it difficult. As someone that plays console and on Cathesia server i have touble finding people that are capable of doing anything more than following through on gear runs. You still need people to do content but if you picked a bad server youre kinda screwed especially console players since we have transfers disabled. Theres honestly just not enough good comprehensive guides for people that need to get strong when they are getting off the ground. (More or less people need a better understand of how to get into the end game content and vet players arent doing there jobs and helping new players learn how to be strong in anything outsides of pvp)
I think boxes that are gated to 3 per day should 10-15 per day maybe - more reason to go into FFA and more chance to get something good from the lottery. as of now I really don't feel motivated to go into FFA. anyway, what's the point in rng chests for AGS? it's not like it's pay to win, you can't buy more chests with real money, so what's the benefit in that? the last time I played before Aeternum was Brimstone and I feel like gearing system was better back then even with the annoying expertise system. this time around I feel like I'm never gonna get what I want
710 from M3 was my thought as well. why not do that ? may be because gear score doesnt matter as much as the perks on the gear in this game. this is kind of a design flaw in the game than anything. but i must give credit to them for Hive. that raid is pretty good from a design and fight prospective. but it drops bop stuff only which is also not good. it can drop boe 710 which players can sell to other players so more people can get their GS up
The game is fun, but i find myself just running CK mostly, and hoarding things in the storage(most of which are full now even with 12 epic chests). Add events like GW2, a living world.
The 725 has created an arbitrary chase that people are mad they cant reach. A lot of named gear are still bis and cant get to 725. The groups that have been completing gorgon every week are running it was 680 gear score. Perks matter more and a lot of the 725 gear don't have bis perks. So the issue isn't that they gutted old content. Is that people are seeing the higher number and assuming its best. It is not a lack of end game, its a lack of clear directive.
They could make some easy changes to create a game loop that people who do. My suggestion would be let debloons be used to craft pvp artifacts. You would people in your new zone constantly. Let basic materia be converted into dense materia. Same concept as above. Give me a mutation vendors that rotates where i can spend my useless materia to buy gear or mounts buffs or something. The artifacts quests are lame as hell. Id rather just get the artifact in its full form. At this rate i have so many i cant do the others because i dont have thousands of gold to get the crafting necessary to level them up.
I don't think 725 is reserved for top players only. If you can make 50-60k gold a week (very easy with daily activities) you can at the very least buy a gorgon run lol.

I'm a new player as of aeternum. I love playing the game, but I'm at around 675 gs and I guess I'm supposed to go for 700 but I keep thinking what's the point? You can't inspect players, so it's not like I can show off any cool gear or high GS I get. And in end game dungeons and M1-2, I'm getting gear that's all lower level than i already have. So I'm kinda bored. I've just kinda lost the drive to keep playing
They could make M3s drop 720GS and people would still do the raids to craft BiS gear. This is just another example of decisions being made by people who have clearly never played an MMO.
i made the switch to TnL, after playing only NW for years.. but getting too frustrated.. and now im glad i did! i had troubles getting used to tnl, after nw, specially the combat, but also its a very complicated game, that doesnt tell u alot, and i think the expierence is made or broken by how much research u do, and how much game info u have. (tnL f2p playaer here) but now im loving it! and they doing so much right, that was done wrong with NW. and so much more contact, updates, content, fixes, roadmap, new stuff, lots to do, and like my server alone alomost has as many people/pop as all of NW pc playas combined.. haha.. i still dont see NW as being a success, its just holding on, even tho it should have died.. and yes, u are now leveling again, with freshstart, but u really just playing the game over, its not fun.. and u will soon be at the exact point u/we were for ages.. with too many issues, no new content and engame content, not enuf. and inherrent flaws in the endgame too.. the whole leveling is to play endgame.. so whats the point really.. and i feel they ruined the action combat too! which was NW main saving grace.. goodbye NW
i just want all expeditions and raids to be scalable and if you want to do an m3 glacial tarn solo, it scales down and if your build is good enough and youre good enough, you can solo it over and over and farm solo to bis. Solo'ing tough content in Division 2 is a highlight of the game. cant do that here
I started playing 1 week ago. I realized I can't play bow/spear in Gorgon in PUGs. I realized OPR is full of legacy characters that are unkillable to fresh start players unless those people are no life and veterans.
As a newcomer this pvp track is the worst thing ive seen in any game. No matter how much progress you make you never know how close you are to your goal. You just have to play this pvp that you are undergeared and underskilled at and its very slow and unfun. Above all its unrewarding
Too much time gating especially with the inductors. It’s really lame that you have to wait a week to get a gorgon inductor and 4 weeks to get the coins in order to craft 725 gorgon gear.
Yeah, I feel like the amount of time, gold, knowledge, etc. you have to put into 725 average gs compared to 700 is just not satisfying. You can literally play for 100 hours, and only get 1% better. In those 100 hours, you could have made 3+ new 700gs loadouts, with really good perks and different weapons. I hope they add some new weapons, up the lvl cap to 70, and gearscore to 800. It would make sense to lock the 800gs items behind dungeons/raids/pvp, where you need to have 725gs to enter. That way 725gs would actually have a purpose, and after you get 725gs you would be able to actually get much ''stronger'' with the 800gs items. Artifacts should obviously be upgradeable, but you could only get the items to upgrade artifacts from 725gs content. It would add 100s or even 1000+ hours to the end game. + There would be a huge difference between a person with 700gs and a person with max gear score, as there should.
Yup....The gatekeeping made me quit. Once I realized theres not much after the Gorgon in terms of content, It just wasnt worth the grind for major trophies and all that. If they add more content, maybe I'll give another go. Was a blast up until that tho!
I think the biggest problem the game has now, is that getting 725 gear has very limited paths. In past versions of the game, there was no irrelevant content in the game. That was (maybe accidently) genius. There was always a most efficient way to get maxed bis gear but you could choose to do whatever way you found fun be that crafting, box runs, expeds, through sheer wealth, the whole game was relevant even if it wasn't the "best" way to do it. That's how you retain players imo, let them get the best gear however they like to do it. As someone who enjoys crafting being seemingly unable unless I'm missing something to craft 725 gear is bullshit. (you actually went on to say basically this about a minute further into the vid from when i typed this comment lol)
in past versions everything was chest runs and nothing else mattered. Now you do mutated so you can do the raid and chest runs is just a daily whitout much importance.

Pvp should be 3 modes, more variety in each, more accessible 3v3 - 5 maps random rotation Opr - map progression War - structured pvp, remove factions, company only mode
I really think they are dropping the ball by not having a roadmap out by now after the Aeternum launch. I'm still having fun, though, personally. I just enjoy the world and the game and I'm trying not to worry about the min/max stuff.
I don't see why it's such an issue to make it difficult to get max gear score. Like, everyone's issue last season was that 700GS was too easy to get...
I despise AGS' approach to the weapons in this game. The cannot for the life of them quickly adjust or change weapons based on how they're performing and it is such a drag at times. Bleed Rapier, for instance, has been consistently shit for PvP since the game's launch outside of F&F one shot builds. Great Hammer feels utterly miserable to play anywhere outside of war and outpost rush, and even then, the results just aren't there to justify the weapon's use more often than not. Blunderbuss is either utterly broken, or complete trash; I don't think we've ever seen an in-between. Side note, when's the last time you've seen someone use Mortars? Flail was probably the least impactful weapon put out in the game bar none. It's pretty trash at both DPS, and Healing, so it's left as like a weird hybrid support/tank weapon, but it just feels so bad to use. It honestly worries me about the future weapons that MIGHT be added. Will they also fail to even leave an impact on the meta and be unpopular to the majority of players? I think it's honestly insane that, disregarding the exploits, Hatchet skyrocketed in use when the tracking just adjusted to be 100x better than it use to be. Small changes to weapons like that can completely shift it's popularity. (that and the bugs that go unfixed for insane amounts of time) I dunno, in my opinion, weapon balance needs to be a top priority. Warhammer feels so sluggish and grounded in one spot, and in a meta right now that encourages high mobility and gap closing, the weapon is just terrible unless you're sitting on a point. Greataxe feels alright but I miss when you could actually left click on people. Currently just feels like you blow your ability rotations and then swap because your basic attacks whiff if the enemy moves one too many inches away from you. The point you had about greatsword was pretty spot on; why use greatsword's offensive stance and risk taking more damage when you can just use a different weapon and output that same damage safely? I just wish that New World had better developers who could interact with their game on more than a twice a year basis
another thing i hate is when i see new players asking for help and no one wants to help them out because they have no expir or they never done a m1// raid or worm.. it makes no sense like we all start somewhere.. so what if we dont complete the m1/2 or 3 gold like its fine we get 25 chances some leave the game becuse they feel left out i see a bunch of high end game players sttanding in ww evrfall doing nothing while the new players are asking for help all day in the chat games gonna die and go back to 5k players
Mecrow, big fan of your content so not a shot at you. 4.6k hours… I thankfully had an epiphany right when I hit 65 and ran into some old bugs. Was in a strong war company, have good friends playing, so no isolation issue. It was just my “wtf am I doing” moment, I really am not cool with this auto lock nonsense… I’d stuck with NW during a lot of AGS’ worst moments due to loving/knowing how much potential the combat system had. The auto lock was too close to tab targeting for me personally and I hate to wish bad on people and some may find this extreme or simply just disagree but I wish Scott Lane and some senior staff would be fired. It 100% is a cash grab, it’s insulting to those of us who kept playing hoping they’d get their sh!t together, and at the end of the day they don’t give a sh!t about PC players who stuck it out and kept playing. In summary, I’m finally free and it feels good. Lol. Had to tune in to hear if they had or hadn’t dropped the ball so thanks for the peace of mind in confirming it. ❤
open world content (chestruns,elite zones,...) = dead instances besides gorgon (expeditions, trials, hatchery,..,etc.) = dead pvp content besides the new island (opr, 3v3, influence races, no exp. on wars) = dead dead > in terms of usable content to farm meaningful items (just opened 300 OPR caches for my loadout > in terms of perks only 3 items usable NOT being gs 700) gorgon raid and pvp island is not enough AGS! Revisit and update the loot/gear table in the whole activities of the game, remove useless named items, crafting items,etc.!!!!
The whole map is owned by only 3 hardcore companies. Some of which are now selling Gorgan raid spots for tens of thousands of gold.

They NEVER addressed the war situation. You are either in the small always warring community or you are not. There is no good path to get practice at wars without going up against pro companies and getting smashed. I know many people and even companies that fell apart and left the game because the war situation was terrible.Some sort of practice war or skirmish war system where companies could war against each other and practice without tyerritories changing hands would have saved thousands of players.

I don't know the science but I was told that you won't be able to "hit" as hard or function as well overall, whatever, until you hit gear score 695... Personally I'm at 683 and don't understand how some people just melt bosses and I still don't..I'm critting 4 and sometimes over 5K with a hatchet or spear
@@LionscubSaint In pve content gear score actually does make a large difference. Even just trying to speedrun the main story with stats and perks I liked vs GS that was straight up higher made the difference between struggling against Isabella and stomping her.

You can clear Gorgon with bis 675 just as well as you can with bis 700. People just don't understand how it works.

I've been seeing a lot of the newer players starting to quit because they feel like they are logging on, dumping hours into the game and not making any progression. Raids and other end game content being gatekept by the veteran community is killing the game all over again. I'm not just blaming the veterans, AGS shares in that blame just as much.

with the outrage i've seen and people leaving soon, i think they should get the roadmap out soon before the year ends; like... before December. Knowing AGS... they're gonna drop the roadmap in the 2nd or 3rd month of the new year... when we're 1/4 of the way through the year. They did that last year and dropped the roadmap like in late feb/early march if i remember and it pissed off a lot of people how late it was.

the fact that they gutted their own content with that 725 only in raid, making crafting + instances + openworld drops useless ensures to me that none of their staff playes the game. in most of the overhauled (angryearth) zones still dropping 625 named gear from 65+ mobs - they updated NOTHING in that sense.

Why is everyone so obsessed with the 725. The bis builds will probably sit around 710-715 since perks matter more then 1-2% attribute bonus increase. Some of the best gear is still 700. Its hard cause ags needs to do a better job explaining this to people. That yes 725 gear has come out. But 700 gear with best in slot percs, is going to better then, 725 with bad percs. Percs matter more.

As someone who has come back the main problem I found is there is no mid game. Literally steam rolled to 700gs with no clue what I was doing. You get to the end way too fast. Rolling my 3 expeditions a day for the bonus cash you see so much cool content that is not relevant. I literally didn’t know any of the mechanics in glacial tarn until M2 as I didn’t need to know them to win. Also I’m at then end game trying to get 725 gear but also can’t craft anything as you get there so fast there’s no point level your crafting but now I’m stuck where I need prismatics or matrices but can’t craft them
the matrices are the least of the issue even though they have a stupid requirement of 2 crafting skills at 250, because for almost all upgrades that require a matrix, they'll also require Chromatic seals from the faction vendor, which will also cost you another 5k gold every single day if you don't want to miss getting any and end up with not enough to upgrade all the gear you're going for, this is noticeably far worse for named items than artifacts, since it requires 1 for an artifact but 3 of them for a named item, that makes the cost to upgrade a named item and change the perk at 15k flat gold, before matrix cost and before the craft mod cost and also the actual craft cost itself. it's very frustrating being time gated and locked out of your progress like that.
they should rework expeditions for better drops once u get on harder mutations. I see ppl doing that only to drop the artifact.
Another missed content is open world mobs/ elite areas. At least in my server, the group goes for the chest runs and sometimes dont even care about mobs, noone wanna kill a single mob in the game lol, they just want to open chests.
that's when you join a company, where there'd be crafters to help the members out. Then you can slowly level your own crafting, if you want.
Yeah they streamlined the leveling way too much especially for console players who have never played. They don’t know what they are doing. Also cross server pvp with legacy players and fresh start players was so dumb. Talk about driving players away from pvp when you don’t know how to gear properly and the next guy has been playing for 3 years with every item in the game.
I genuinely thought AGS will be updating the game more frequently after console release but it seems like we're back to the way it was.
Lack of bug fixes and general updates will slowly kill the game again.

PvE has less endgame content after the update. There are only 2 endgame raids that are significantly time gated in terms of loot meaning there is no reason for the average player to replay them. There are 10+ amazing mutated expeditions which have been completely gutted due to the awful combat changes and lack of endgame loot. It sucks that a content update actually reduced the amount of endgame content PvE has
The fact that no other loot drops in Gorgons after your first weekly run is a very stupid decision. None of the mobs drop anything, no mini bosses, etc. there’s zero point to run it more than once per week unless you just want to test building there or help other people. They need to fire Scot Lane asap. I’m sure he’s behind all these decisions

Completely agree about the feeing alienated when it comes to late game content. Unless you’re close friends with a group or a healer you pretty much have a 1:10 chance at a raid group invite. Solo play is non existent after you finish the story and get the trade skills up which cost tons of gold by yourself.

I play on xbox and loved new world beta and early game it was so fun and i thought it was a new game for everyone, but then when it became time to get into the end game, we were completely shut out. The superiority complex was insane. We couldn't take full advantage or play with the market, raids, join companies or wars because everyone knew everything and everyone already. Completely skipping most content and making console feel like late losers for not knowing anything, Everyone was cliqued up so yall got it. The biggest gripe I've seen in this game is that there are no people but then they turn around and contribute to the problem,

firstly - they mixed the main fresh server content with legacy players (opr,arenas), wtf is a brand new player to pvp gonna have fun getting smacked for 10+ games. Especially since the legacy players never had to go through that process themselves. Ags should have mixed the matchmaking at least a month or so later. arguments for 'get good' are simply ignorant and invalid.
secondly - the fact they made console only servers a settings button in game you have to press is just troll...who tf is gonna know that when on homescreen searching for worlds.

AGS put console only servers in the homescreen (consoles happy playing with other noobs who have no fking clue whats going on).
fresh start servers with no legacy matchmaking (returning players happy as majority of players have trash gear except tryhard companies).
Legacy servers (legacy players cant complain they are missing out on smacking noobs, but they can still do raids/opr/arenas as normal with other people who are experienced therefore are happy)
And then after a month or so, they start merging the servers or whatever...

It took me about a week of being hyper fixated watching new world videos for me to come across your channel. You are by far the most informative and IN DEPTH compared to everyone else.
You know so much about this game. And seem to be the only person who talks about things so deep into game.
As a solo player, I've given up on the Hive, as no one will invite me because I haven't finished the raid. I have completed the 1st boss and had the 2nd boss down to 25% health. All of this was done the first week in pugs. I also have difficulty devoting 3-4 hours for the raid. That being said, I believe that the people who put the time in should get the best gear, which should be hard to get. As Mecrow has stated, because the new endgame (Hive) is not really something I can participate in, I will eventually leave because there is nothing left for me to do. I absolutely love this game, but unless they bring something to the less hardcore player, they will lose more and more players.

I'm solo myself but joined a company, cleared the raid twice, and got my desired raid artifacts all in the past week. Everyone's a bunch of nerds and dads on this game, I'm sure you'll find a place to call home.

For sure m3 should be getting 725. It will help solo players do team play in a small a group, then once they have mastered that the raids shouldn't seem so bad
My biggest frustration is that I thought I was starting fresh, expecting a fair chance to compete. Instead, I joined after the initial rush, only to find myself up against players on legacy servers with fully maxed-out gear. On top of that, the mutation rotations aren’t functioning properly, which makes it nearly impossible to gear up effectively.

I’ve played since PC beta. I took a few breaks and was on a break and came back for this “relaunch”. It’s nice. But they have to do something. iWork full time and have kids so I play after work and weekends when I can. It’s to hard to find a group for gorgon. They need group finder. I’m only at 715 at the moment.
They haven’t added it for raids because they are semi complicated. Imo this should still be supported though.
I dont really understand why i need to run elemental band on every weapon and build? I got this artifact, upgraded it fully, but on most elemental dmg builds such as boltcaster, firestaff, void, even fuckin mjolnir hammer i have empower cap allready. Whats the point? Please explain.
More empower and people do not ward towards random elemental dmg.
If 30/50 people in a war run slash everyone will ward heavily to slash. So convert to ele, use ele band, and there’s not as strong of a counter.

The dungeons, which are the best part of PVE are just rotting away, as they can't drop 725. It's a no-brainer fix that instantly expands the endgame.
i jumped back in for fresh start again , but my friends that i played with didnt comeback so for me its been a solo experience . but i havent been racing to endlevel ive been playing it slowly and enjoying the solo experience . though i have been playing other titles that have come since the relaunch . ive played it regularly . will i continue to play it once i get to the level cap ? i dont know . but i have been seeing a slight decline but my server is fairly active so there is that .

Wanna ask u something since u mentioned FS dots being strong, i have 420 int + fire dmg ring and one harnessing and my dots are doing about 89 dmg usually, so is that considered strong? Cause to me it seems rather weak, though i play FS in OPRs only, maybe the dmg is nerfed there? I'm using ignited runeglass and lifetaker aswell
You're seeing the correct number. They essentially doubled how many ticks you get which is why it's stronger then previously.
You mentioned and its true a lot of live service gaming studios are focused on where the most profit is now, rather than look for revenue generating creatively from player retention measures. They know their biggest revenue stream comes from enticing new players to purchase (and pay for subs in some games)-which is why AGS invested so heavily into console and reworking the story and on-boarding and calling it ARPG and etc, and why their marketing/communication is the way it is atm. Other MMO's have done this also. ESO a prime example how even though they have MORE endgame and midgame content and more things to do in their game in general than NW (ESO been around for 10 yrs), their reward structure for the massive time investment into that endgame is very poor compared to their cash shop and the money they will keep coming if they market to the new player base initial purchases and ongoing DLC purchases- and promoting the benefits of their subscription payments to that newer base. etc
It’s because it’s easy to cater to hyper casuals. They toss some red meat to us to test for lotr with this re release and then they go back to lotr (or as I expect, slacking off as a team and not knowing wtf to do because they can’t code and need to outsource everything)

It was optimized, but that optimization introduced a lot of bugs/exploits. There is also some new content like a new raid and matchmaking rating for pvp.

Thanks for the update. I had been watching this from the bench and pretty much it seems like there is no reason to return. The problem with New World is shortsightedness of AGS, and it seems like that got worse.
The raid gate keeping is going to do it for me. Game been out a few weeks and it’s already “must link hive token” or you pay $30,000 for a carry. Well they’re welcome to spend their time raiding for a game that is going to die in a few months again.
Yep. From a I did the raid 20 times player perspective they want a 30-45 min run not a 5 hour run but that completely prevents other players from getting involved in the raid.
Try organizing. Make a company for PVE. Look up mechanics. Post in recruitment that you're looking for people new to the raid to learn it. Don't rely on other people to waste their time.

I think what they need to bring back is mutations doing m3s used to drop endgame gear you could use in war then sell the gear you didn't need I feel like doing anything apart from m2s now just isn't worth it maybe m1s just to get the gs for m2s but still people wanting to run dungeons especially mutated used to be a big part of peoples daily login that a vast majority could do and they basically gutted that
The terrible thing is they want to do this new "seasonal world" model kind of like 'Leagues' in Path of Exile or Diablo. As it stands currently from a player's perspective whose played several years; the devs don't have the experience, innovation, or the studio size to continuously make 'new and refreshing' ways to play the game every 3 months. The first season isn't even a new concept, they're literally recycling original/alpha stages of New World where you dropped gear on death. With the remarketing of "Action RPG" its looks like they're trying to pivot to be 'path of exile-like'. I just don't have faith that they'll produce. It bothers me that we still play this bug/exploit filled, half broken of a game and people seem to be fine with that. What happened to standards?

Since the June announcement I've been saying AGS was trying to get some extra money before moving to LotR (or any other new project we don't know about), and I still think it's the case, 1 month after Aeternum release. Hippos are also an indicator that they wanna make money short term and that's about it. Milk the playerbase while it's not yet too low.
I've avoided the aeternum completely because i've seen this cycle in new world before... And last year it was way worst. I mean, they guttered their own roadmap and i kinda get the feeling they are going to do it again.
There was a video by scott before the announcement of aeternum that he stated "players dont actually want what they ask for" and that was it for me...
No one wants to do raids, you thought they'd learn that with the sandwurm failure.
Plenty of people will do raids. the issue is that sandworm requires 20 people, and new world has on average one of the dumber mmo playerbases. Unless you aren’t in an already organised company, you probably won’t ever get to do it
I’m new to NW (Console) The the things that will kill the game for me is knowing I don’t get chosen for raids etc because I’m a console player and everyone wants someone that can take advantage of macro’s and knowledge of bugs/exploits when I cannot. I get left out of a lot of things

The 725 grind killed it for me, I'm the top bruiser in my company in every war I've been in and even I couldn't get company members to help me complete the raid so I'm stuck.
100% agree with that content issue they make people wait 1 year but it takes 1 month for people to master the content and then it becomes repetitive not to mention there servers can hardly handle races that have more then 200 players involved

They could make so much better ideas with pvp zone. Make storage chest you can buy with tokens, trophy craft mods you can buy, so much stuff like this would draw so much attention to it. Doesn’t even have to be sellable. Just a way to get items without having to do pve if you don’t want to.
AGS has never done anything around the holiday season. So just enjoy the events and the raids and wait till next year.

Im an oldschool runescape player and honestly this games endgame isnt for people that arent die hard into this game. The player base depending on which server you join makes it difficult. As someone that plays console and on Cathesia server i have touble finding people that are capable of doing anything more than following through on gear runs. You still need people to do content but if you picked a bad server youre kinda screwed especially console players since we have transfers disabled. Theres honestly just not enough good comprehensive guides for people that need to get strong when they are getting off the ground. (More or less people need a better understand of how to get into the end game content and vet players arent doing there jobs and helping new players learn how to be strong in anything outsides of pvp)
I think boxes that are gated to 3 per day should 10-15 per day maybe - more reason to go into FFA and more chance to get something good from the lottery. as of now I really don't feel motivated to go into FFA.
anyway, what's the point in rng chests for AGS? it's not like it's pay to win, you can't buy more chests with real money, so what's the benefit in that? the last time I played before Aeternum was Brimstone and I feel like gearing system was better back then even with the annoying expertise system. this time around I feel like I'm never gonna get what I want

710 from M3 was my thought as well. why not do that ? may be because gear score doesnt matter as much as the perks on the gear in this game. this is kind of a design flaw in the game than anything. but i must give credit to them for Hive. that raid is pretty good from a design and fight prospective. but it drops bop stuff only which is also not good. it can drop boe 710 which players can sell to other players so more people can get their GS up
Need to introduce a way to upgrade all gear to 725 or atleast 715 or so every piece of gear should be upgradeable from past content.
The game is fun, but i find myself just running CK mostly, and hoarding things in the storage(most of which are full now even with 12 epic chests). Add events like GW2, a living world.

The 725 has created an arbitrary chase that people are mad they cant reach. A lot of named gear are still bis and cant get to 725. The groups that have been completing gorgon every week are running it was 680 gear score. Perks matter more and a lot of the 725 gear don't have bis perks. So the issue isn't that they gutted old content. Is that people are seeing the higher number and assuming its best. It is not a lack of end game, its a lack of clear directive.
They could make some easy changes to create a game loop that people who do. My suggestion would be let debloons be used to craft pvp artifacts. You would people in your new zone constantly.
Let basic materia be converted into dense materia. Same concept as above.
Give me a mutation vendors that rotates where i can spend my useless materia to buy gear or mounts buffs or something.
The artifacts quests are lame as hell. Id rather just get the artifact in its full form. At this rate i have so many i cant do the others because i dont have thousands of gold to get the crafting necessary to level them up.
I don't think 725 is reserved for top players only. If you can make 50-60k gold a week (very easy with daily activities) you can at the very least buy a gorgon run lol.

I'm a new player as of aeternum. I love playing the game, but I'm at around 675 gs and I guess I'm supposed to go for 700 but I keep thinking what's the point? You can't inspect players, so it's not like I can show off any cool gear or high GS I get. And in end game dungeons and M1-2, I'm getting gear that's all lower level than i already have. So I'm kinda bored. I've just kinda lost the drive to keep playing

They could make M3s drop 720GS and people would still do the raids to craft BiS gear. This is just another example of decisions being made by people who have clearly never played an MMO.
i made the switch to TnL, after playing only NW for years.. but getting too frustrated.. and now im glad i did! i had troubles getting used to tnl, after nw, specially the combat, but also its a very complicated game, that doesnt tell u alot, and i think the expierence is made or broken by how much research u do, and how much game info u have. (tnL f2p playaer here) but now im loving it! and they doing so much right, that was done wrong with NW. and so much more contact, updates, content, fixes, roadmap, new stuff, lots to do, and like my server alone alomost has as many people/pop as all of NW pc playas combined.. haha.. i still dont see NW as being a success, its just holding on, even tho it should have died.. and yes, u are now leveling again, with freshstart, but u really just playing the game over, its not fun.. and u will soon be at the exact point u/we were for ages.. with too many issues, no new content and engame content, not enuf. and inherrent flaws in the endgame too.. the whole leveling is to play endgame.. so whats the point really.. and i feel they ruined the action combat too! which was NW main saving grace.. goodbye NW
i just want all expeditions and raids to be scalable and if you want to do an m3 glacial tarn solo, it scales down and if your build is good enough and youre good enough, you can solo it over and over and farm solo to bis. Solo'ing tough content in Division 2 is a highlight of the game. cant do that here

I started playing 1 week ago.
I realized I can't play bow/spear in Gorgon in PUGs. I realized OPR is full of legacy characters that are unkillable to fresh start players unless those people are no life and veterans.
As a newcomer this pvp track is the worst thing ive seen in any game. No matter how much progress you make you never know how close you are to your goal. You just have to play this pvp that you are undergeared and underskilled at and its very slow and unfun. Above all its unrewarding
AGS has no idea what they are doing, most of the core systems within the game feel half-baked and aren't cohesive
Too much time gating especially with the inductors. It’s really lame that you have to wait a week to get a gorgon inductor and 4 weeks to get the coins in order to craft 725 gorgon gear.

Yeah, I feel like the amount of time, gold, knowledge, etc. you have to put into 725 average gs compared to 700 is just not satisfying. You can literally play for 100 hours, and only get 1% better.
In those 100 hours, you could have made 3+ new 700gs loadouts, with really good perks and different weapons. I hope they add some new weapons, up the lvl cap to 70, and gearscore to 800. It would make sense to lock the 800gs items behind dungeons/raids/pvp, where you need to have 725gs to enter. That way 725gs would actually have a purpose, and after you get 725gs you would be able to actually get much ''stronger'' with the 800gs items. Artifacts should obviously be upgradeable, but you could only get the items to upgrade artifacts from 725gs content. It would add 100s or even 1000+ hours to the end game. + There would be a huge difference between a person with 700gs and a person with max gear score, as there should.
Yup....The gatekeeping made me quit. Once I realized theres not much after the Gorgon in terms of content, It just wasnt worth the grind for major trophies and all that. If they add more content, maybe I'll give another go. Was a blast up until that tho!
I think the biggest problem the game has now, is that getting 725 gear has very limited paths. In past versions of the game, there was no irrelevant content in the game. That was (maybe accidently) genius. There was always a most efficient way to get maxed bis gear but you could choose to do whatever way you found fun be that crafting, box runs, expeds, through sheer wealth, the whole game was relevant even if it wasn't the "best" way to do it. That's how you retain players imo, let them get the best gear however they like to do it. As someone who enjoys crafting being seemingly unable unless I'm missing something to craft 725 gear is bullshit. (you actually went on to say basically this about a minute further into the vid from when i typed this comment lol)
in past versions everything was chest runs and nothing else mattered. Now you do mutated so you can do the raid and chest runs is just a daily whitout much importance.

Pvp should be 3 modes, more variety in each, more accessible
3v3 - 5 maps random rotation
Opr - map progression
War - structured pvp, remove factions, company only mode
I really think they are dropping the ball by not having a roadmap out by now after the Aeternum launch. I'm still having fun, though, personally. I just enjoy the world and the game and I'm trying not to worry about the min/max stuff.
Musket really sucks right now. Your teammates will blame you on both PVP and PVE.
I don't see why it's such an issue to make it difficult to get max gear score. Like, everyone's issue last season was that 700GS was too easy to get...
I despise AGS' approach to the weapons in this game. The cannot for the life of them quickly adjust or change weapons based on how they're performing and it is such a drag at times.
Bleed Rapier, for instance, has been consistently shit for PvP since the game's launch outside of F&F one shot builds.
Great Hammer feels utterly miserable to play anywhere outside of war and outpost rush, and even then, the results just aren't there to justify the weapon's use more often than not.
Blunderbuss is either utterly broken, or complete trash; I don't think we've ever seen an in-between. Side note, when's the last time you've seen someone use Mortars?
Flail was probably the least impactful weapon put out in the game bar none. It's pretty trash at both DPS, and Healing, so it's left as like a weird hybrid support/tank weapon, but it just feels so bad to use. It honestly worries me about the future weapons that MIGHT be added. Will they also fail to even leave an impact on the meta and be unpopular to the majority of players?
I think it's honestly insane that, disregarding the exploits, Hatchet skyrocketed in use when the tracking just adjusted to be 100x better than it use to be. Small changes to weapons like that can completely shift it's popularity. (that and the bugs that go unfixed for insane amounts of time)
I dunno, in my opinion, weapon balance needs to be a top priority. Warhammer feels so sluggish and grounded in one spot, and in a meta right now that encourages high mobility and gap closing, the weapon is just terrible unless you're sitting on a point.
Greataxe feels alright but I miss when you could actually left click on people. Currently just feels like you blow your ability rotations and then swap because your basic attacks whiff if the enemy moves one too many inches away from you.
The point you had about greatsword was pretty spot on; why use greatsword's offensive stance and risk taking more damage when you can just use a different weapon and output that same damage safely?
I just wish that New World had better developers who could interact with their game on more than a twice a year basis
another thing i hate is when i see new players asking for help and no one wants to help them out because they have no expir or they never done a m1// raid or worm.. it makes no sense like we all start somewhere.. so what if we dont complete the m1/2 or 3 gold like its fine we get 25 chances some leave the game becuse they feel left out i see a bunch of high end game players sttanding in ww evrfall doing nothing while the new players are asking for help all day in the chat games gonna die and go back to 5k players
Mecrow, big fan of your content so not a shot at you. 4.6k hours… I thankfully had an epiphany right when I hit 65 and ran into some old bugs. Was in a strong war company, have good friends playing, so no isolation issue. It was just my “wtf am I doing” moment, I really am not cool with this auto lock nonsense… I’d stuck with NW during a lot of AGS’ worst moments due to loving/knowing how much potential the combat system had. The auto lock was too close to tab targeting for me personally and I hate to wish bad on people and some may find this extreme or simply just disagree but I wish Scott Lane and some senior staff would be fired. It 100% is a cash grab, it’s insulting to those of us who kept playing hoping they’d get their sh!t together, and at the end of the day they don’t give a sh!t about PC players who stuck it out and kept playing. In summary, I’m finally free and it feels good. Lol. Had to tune in to hear if they had or hadn’t dropped the ball so thanks for the peace of mind in confirming it. ❤
725 gearscore was too low. 750-775 was needed to create a gear chase. Perks barely increased, and the stat jump was not enough for 725 gearscore.
one thing is a gear chase other is literally making anyone that dont raid folder to get killed by those raiding. 725 is fine.
So endgame is only catered to the 1% hardcore crowd. Where have i heard this before? Oh yeah, Wildstar and we all know what happened to that game

I levelled 65 on fresh but fk the gear chase, just log in on main and opr cross server a bit
open world content (chestruns,elite zones,...) = dead
instances besides gorgon (expeditions, trials, hatchery,..,etc.) = dead
pvp content besides the new island (opr, 3v3, influence races, no exp. on wars) = dead
dead > in terms of usable content to farm meaningful items (just opened 300 OPR caches for my loadout > in terms of perks only 3 items usable NOT being gs 700)
gorgon raid and pvp island is not enough AGS! Revisit and update the loot/gear table in the whole activities of the game, remove useless named items, crafting items,etc.!!!!
