- We paid a visit to Charlotte for Carowinds and their seasonal Winterfest event! This year, for the first time ever, Fury 325 is open during the holiday season! It was great to get back on that legendary attraction, plus get exclusive ride time on Copperhead Strike, and an exclusive tour of Nighthawk! And it was all part of the Coaster Crew event, Copperhead Christmas!

I know I say something every time she's in a video but Jen is always such a delight. In fact I really like it when we get to see more of the community. There's always something so special about events like these or when everyone is there for a coaster opening.

I would have JENERALLY loved that control room tour of Nighthawk 😆! As a controls engineer, I would have been nerding out so much haha.
it's absolutely crazy how much engineering goes into the behind the scenes, most people don't recognize a lot of the work that goes on to make sure we all have safe and enjoyable rides.

Fully support nighthawk supremacy 😂 it’s so fun and underrated. Only thing I can back up hating on it is the operations are terribly slow.
Unpopular opinion, but After Burn is probably my favorite B&M Invert! It was so intense and was pretty smooth!! Granted I’ve only ridden Raptor, Banshee and After Burn, but still it’s my favorite!
Whether you love Nighthawk or hate it, you have to admit the mechanics and way it works is cool to see.

Carowinds and Kings Dominon are those parks where it just seems so natural to build a theme park!

I think Cedar Fair parks are the reason for close hotels. Kings Island is right next door to great Wolf Lodge, and now Carowinds across from Marriot💀

I also really like Nighthawk. Keep your restraint loose, the ride ops never push it down. Relax and let the ride toss you around. It's a lot of fun. I have ridden it 10 times in a row without getting off and felt no discomfort whatsoever.

I waited 10 minutes on labor day weekend on fury! we hit the jackpot on wait times that day!

Looked like such a good time! The most magical ride i've had on a coaster was back row Fury325 last ride of the night and they sent us again after some "one more ride" screaming. I think I even remember seeing that in one of your videos. The atmosphere was amazing. One of the best highlights of 2022 and there were many.

When i stayed there in september...I stay just down the hall from ur room...I will be staying there again...loved the walk to the park.....it was my first visit to the park...love fury more than my ohio giga at cedar point..cause I live in akron ohio....
Heading down there in Feb for the first time in the winter season...now if they could just start operating Intimidator in the winter as well...

Very timely video, my wife and I might end up at Carowinds next week as we go out to look for a new home nearby. I'm going out on a limb and guessing that Carowinds would be a slightly better home park than Wild Waves.

NC has Fury, but SC has Afterburn, Copperhead, Nighthawk and Intimidator, plus some decent restaurants. Overall I prefer the SC side but you can’t go wrong anywhere in Carowinds

Probably south Carolina because they have a bnm hyper intimidator and chopper headstrike along with after burn though fury is in north Carolina.
I would just stare at intimidator from that window all day

We wanted to come to this even but the downside of having a kid that is hovering at 52", it would suck if he didn't at least make it on Copperhead Strike. And no Fury 325 for him (crazy though as they are the exact trains as Apollo's, a 52"). He wants to ride everything when we go. Looks like a blast though.

Don’t listen to the hate about nighthawk. It’s really cool. I actually prefer it over intimidator because intimidator is just a dumb coaster.
My favorite coaster experience is at holiwood nights, unlimited ERT on the voyage at night. And I'm in the front row, and I'm hammered drunk

That’s surprising because last year Fury was closed for Winterfest
In 2020 they were trying to open Fury during Winterfest because it wasn’t open at all that year however they couldn’t because NC still had stricter Covid protocols than SC so it remained closed. Carowinds has been angling for Fury to be open for Winterfest for a while.
