I just started playing, most of the buildings look unfamiliar, I wish the cursor would linger for at least a second on each building in the block to read the name and load.
i've just started getting into this game thanks to your tutorials, your guide to 100 population vid is great but i have a question about trade -- specifically, how do i make my first trade agreement? when i offer resources through the factions -> diplomacy menu i always get the message "you have nothing of worth to offer the faction" no matter what i offer, and no trade agreement. in your vid you were able to get a trade agreement at 50 population with minimal resources, i'm trying this with a population of 70 and significantly more resources but i keep seeing the same message. i'm not sure if i'm doing something wrong, or if there's been an update to the trade system since you made that vid, or what.
If you get that message, you're probably trying to trade with a large/wealthy neighbour and/or don't have enough resources to secure the trade deal. You seem to have the process down, you just need more stuff or to seek business with a smaller/weaker neighbour :)
If you're doing what I think you're doing, when you demand a trade agreement in the diplomacy menu, they will want a bribe in return. Offer them resources and cash as needed until the value listed at the bottom of the screen becomes 0 or positive. They will then agree to the agreement unless there's a bug.
Dwarf fortress jusst seems like less fun and less intuitive version of songs of syx Telling you that as a person who loves Space station 13 (probably the only game thats badder than dwarf fortress)
