WHICH IS BETTER!? Mazzara Farm or Police Station? You know what I think, but maybe I'm out of my damn mind, and you have another reason why you like this or that base. Let me know if you agree or disagree with my judgement.
Without builder boon I would prefer Mazzara Farm especially as next station after the starter home. I really like the passive +30% food yield. Plus the kitchen provides passive knowledge of cooking so no cooker is required to held feasts. I cannot speak for the Rural Police Station cuz I never used it as a base but I will definitely check it out another time thanks to your in-depth breakdown. Great work mate! Another question: Are you still able to find the fertilizer mod or compost bin? Since the patch no trader has it and I cannot find it by looting the area. It's just gone... totally... I think I have to hire a survivor that is a trader to get the opportunity to build the trade depot. If the food trader has it then it seems to be a bug caused by the latest patch I assume. If he doesn't have it then the devs removed these completely. Even the garden toolkit is hard to come by. :D Or just my game is bugged who knows...
My gardening mods are carried over from the Cascade Hills reviews, so I definitely haven't seen gardening mods in a while because I'd remember if I had duplicates or not. On the other hand, I haven't been focused on looting. I also don't remember any of the random merchants selling gardening gear either. I know some people believe changing regions resets a lot of loot based things or causes the flow of wandering merchants to get unclogged. I'm not sure if that's true or just urban legend though.
So, older post, but I found a way to get more farming mods. I have the Trader as my leader, built the Trade Post leader facility, and then I called in a food merchant. The food merchant had a bunch of farming mods including the composting bin. My current base has THREE farming type facilities going, and I am able to deploy three composting bins to charge them up.
Def the farm, the ability to super produce food then hop to the distillery to produce alcohol is a huge benefit that overcomes the one good thing about police station (the ability to produce handgun ammo) The storages are just sidegreades of one another
It's definitely a tech decision. If you don't have access to ammo presses, the police station can shine where as if you do have ammo presses, then easy drive of the Mazzara Farm shines.
@@GitGudFox I disagree. Both bases are crappy. All mid-level bases are. They do not give you enough to make a base that can do everything you need, and you'll likely be moving out ASAP once you get 8 people. Just skip them. Cram 8 people into your starter base and go grab your map's biggest base ASAP. Why beat around the bush, waste resources, and more importantly, facility construction time?
Meep Changeling Because base building is an integral part of the game?Ofc the 8 man base is the best but the lower bases are all there for a reason. If you play a game just to finish it and not enjoy an integral part of it then why even play?
I liked the police station. I plugged up the climbable fences and doors around the sides and back with vehicles, leaving only the front door accessible. The AI on the watchtower does a slightly better job at taking out zombies on this base than some others (I usually give them a grenade launcher).
I usually take the brewing company building. Baseball field is nice but way out of the way in the south. The camp ground is nice but way off in the west. We need a new map or two soon. I mentioned before each map shows like 4 exit points on all three maps. So I think we end up with two new maps eventually.
I get the feeling that Return to Trumbull County will add an additional map. I'm hoping it's a hard mode map with stuff on it that is unique to the map.
I personally like the Police Station over the Mazzara farm. Why? When I'm using either base it's a half way home normally with a new group I have and with the station I can use the large slots with out being stuck having to use farms for those slots. I mean you can stack up food faster with the farm but it takes so much mats to get to that level and I don't plan on staying there past 3 days making the bonus of massive food yields pointless to me. If you're staying long term the farm is batter but both are halfway homes so as a half way home the Station is much better because instead of finding or buying presses you can just make ammo. It's also set on a T joint which is 3 main roads going to the rest of the map making it better because with the farm you have to drive through the river which can be risky at night so if you don't go through the river you are flat out driving around anyways adding time to you're driving.
im sure its been discovered by now but im gonna say it for newbies throw down a smoke grenade and stand in the smoke and nothing will attack you hostiles just stand at the edge of the smoke like whered he go which is another reason the vally rules every other map drools
tbh tho, the built-in Armory doesn't craft every ammo type, so it can still be useful even after you get an ammo press (like if you want both 9mm rounds and 5.56 cal)
Thing about ammo presses is that they're really easy to get if you have a Trader leader. Once promote a Trader as you leader, you can build a Trade Depot. Once you have a Trade Depot, you can call ammo traders to come to your base who will sell the ammo presses. They won't them all in 1 visit, but after 2 or 3 visits, you should have all the ammo presses.
Watch this video and didn’t watch till the end I wanted to know which one always better I quickly bought the police station now I don’t have any influence
It's a good base. I have used it during my Nightmare playthroughs, specifically during season 4. Its main advantage is the police armory which is great for newer players. If you need more influence, you'll want to sell some things, prioritize luxury items when you scavenge, and if you have the firepower available, killing plaguehearts gives a good chunk of influence. The only base that is bad in this region is the Country Church.
Police station is one of the best bases in the game because you it’s the only way you can make smoke grenades. They are OP on lethal and make you invisible to zombies when standing in the smoke.
They're really not. They're just like scentblocks except DRASTICALLY less effective. Enemies can still detect you in smoke especially since you have to stay inside of the smoke. I've demonstrated it multiple times against zombies, ferals, and juggernauts that they can detect you and not to trust them. Forget about the Police Station. Get a Biochem Lab and use REAL overpowered items: Scentblock and Bloater gas. Smoke grenades are garbage.
Well, this base was more in line with what the typical 5-man base was before the new maps came out. The police station was considered pretty normal, maybe not outstanding, but normal. The new maps have made a lot of bases really bad by comparison.
I've been using crossbows but atm I only have light or classic and they are next to useless when a feral horde or blood jug turns up. I mean the .45 or 9mm aren't much better against a jug but having more than one shot per reload makes dealing with ferals easier. I also haven't found any presses yet :-(
@@GitGudFox No I haven't. It's downloaded, but I've taken a little break. I saw your video on it. I really don't enjoy multiplayer games. Call me anti- social!! Lol
Yeah, my friends also took a break. Tbh, even I took a break with the exception being gathering footage for videos. One thing about Daybreak is that you don't NEED to interact with the other players. You could just treat them as more cunning (or sometimes less cunning) computers. I don't know of any other way to gain the prestige points either. Prestige points are a new currency you use to buy Red Talon stuff.
A lot of bases can be secured more by just parking cars in front of the breach areas. A good example is camp kelenqua. Cover the breaks in the fence and its a fortress
Im in the police station. With 3 trucks parked along the back fence so far it's much more secure. It's only temporary as it's to mass stock up on ammo to switch to nightmare mode
Kinda new to the game and for the life of me I cannot figure out what the little “3 people” icon means when you try to claim the outpost. It says I have 4/5 and I have no clue how to raise it.
Have you tried Subnautica? It's a survival game underwater. It has a lot to do with building. I have a playthrough of it if you want to see it first. It's also not a full price game and also available on the Xbox Ultimate Game Pass: th-cam.com/video/zrZr8CrNS1Y/w-d-xo.html

Couldn't you just counter the driving with getting a gas station outpost? Yeah, you're still driving a lot, but at least your fuel is covered for the most part?
That shouldn't be a problem on Standard Zone. Your community should be able to kill them effortlessly. On Nightmare Zone, you don't want to spend much time at your home base.

Police Station just use the river to get to where you going!
When I first played SoD2, I thought that driving in the river would destroy my car. It took a long time for me to experiment with it.
It's better if you have the military truck you don't get stuck and gotta watch out for the trees but it works for me!
"And smoke grenades... I don't know what they're good for, because I don't use them"

I worked it quite great with

And a solar area

Also, overflow resources have value.
