It is very interesting watching the progression of the farm and land as the seasons change. Not many people realise how much hard work goes into keeping a farm running properly. Thank god for the gift of a tractor.
Loved the video so interesting to a none farmer and farmers alike I am sure . Love listening and learning from your dad and you better than any tv .keep the videos coming and Happy Farming
Not going to lie not here so much for the farming yet you and your old man look like your smashing it.. it's your drone footage why I watch the most, you get some awesome videos bro!!👌
Great presentation Tom, love the uploads and have just subscribed your father is very knowledgeable and really plays a big part in making the uploads fantastic, keep up the great work 👍
Interesting to see how you guys go about reseeding, we never do quite so mant processes Usually for us it's plough, breakdown i.e. power harrow, seed with an air drill that has what i call a "sheep's feet" roller, (it's almost like spikes is the best explanation) and then rolled in lastly and it works well for us, that's on a quite well draining medium loan ground :)
I subbed because I love your enthusiasm!! You truly LOVE what you do. I'm in Finance, chained to a desk, wishing I was out running around the farm with you!!😀 PS - That is some beautiful soil!
Tom why did you harrow a plowed field does it airate the soil nice to see how its all done your old man know his onions mate what a fella and nice to see it passed on to you tom id love an old man like that but im a self tought engineer i love that love you guys on pemberton farm 👍
I understand the milking thing. We milked 380 holsteins 3 times a day and scraped their lots and raked their stalls every milking, plus fed calves and heifers, not to mention field work. Makes for long days. Good job
A tip I heard from a contractor was to weld your old metal tines or similar onto new ones to extend them so you don't need to have the harrow so low, it also stopped most of the rocks from jamming in the knuckles holding the tines.
What the Ginger Warrior doesn't know about seeding grass.. is not worth knowing... Really would love to see the Ginger Warrior in a Warrior (A Duetz Fahr Series 9 Warrior that is) Great Video Tom.. Loved it!!
Great video young man and Tom! I measured that field at 3.25acres using my aerial maps software. Naturally there will be slight differences to paper map measurements because straining posts on wire fences can be put in slightly the wrong place (a matter of centimeters) and as such that is where the difference is determined because on aerial maps you need reference points such as straining post's. Stone walls a generally in the same place for long time so tend to offer better accuracy. Keep up the good work.
Just some tips for the power harrow, try to avoid lifting it up at the headlands after you have stopped as it leaves a big pile of dirt, lift it up when still moving when possible, do the headlands last and leave about a tractor and a bit for width to make it easy to turn around and keep those lines straight 😉
Hi mate We made a draw bar that goes behind our power Harrow and we then pull the roller behind it it makes it heeps better cod you can do 2 jobs at once
Tom, love your vids , but today i got a cringe when seeing you and dad talking while standing next to spinning PTO and the power harrow . This is one horrible accident , which is only one misplaced foot away . I always turn off the PTO when stepping outside of tractor . I want to see many more vids from you , please stay in one piece ! :-)
It's real simple don't get in the pto I see tons of these comments and I farm lots hay and cattle I obviously don't put my ha d in the mower or baler with it running I think Tom is smart enough to do the same
justin whitley. It‘s not about whether someone is stupid enough to stick their hand in there! Turning off any moving piece of equipment before getting out of the tractor is perfect practice to avoiding an accident. If you were to trip up and fall into it that’s the end of you.
In my opinion there is plenty of other dangers working on a farm to be concerned about haha. They are experienced. Granted it may be good practice. But farmers are made of harder stuff lol.
The ROCKS, necessary to roll the field before planting; got it. Otherwise, seed into the cultivated surface. It's all good. A variety of methods accomplish great results. Thank you.
Never worry about how long your video is, we know you only put the worth while content in, I have never felt like you are just filling time before. In all honestly I prefer longer vids here and there.
@@TomPembertonFarmLife you talking, him talking, cows mooing, grass blowing in the breeze, i'm betting your fans aren't to bothered no matter what the content is. id bet a camera pointed at an empty field set on 24hour live stream would pull views lol.
Yo Tom and Ginge. If it looks like it will rain chances have it, well its going to piss down. Its part of living in the surroundings of Morecambe Bay, lived here most of my life except undergrad life which was spent in Leeds. If it looks like rain wear a coat, weather man can give you all the assurance that for all in the world that the rain will come at 5pm. Yeah the rain appears when it wants to. Respect to the Ginge warrior, when you have clay it can get a bit sticky, learnt that as a cub and scout that the rain will come and go as it pleases. Try walking in thick red clay during wet weather, would rather I had your tractor, a lot less effort physically.
Great vid. We only have a 3 metre Amazone power harrow and it works ground for 20 acres of winter wheat, 60 acres of Maize and 20 acres of grass each year.
Tom great videos love them all love it when your dad makes a mistake he doesn’t really want to amid it but he always has some kind of reason why he made the mistake but it really wasn’t his fault! I laugh every time!! Keep up the great videos thank you very much!!! Shout out to you from America I live in Twin Falls,Idaho
Tom could you do a video of you milking cows and taking them in and putting them out it would be nice to see what you do every morning and evening if you agree
Hi Tom. we have just been hit by major vandalism whilst trying to do spring work. some nice person filled the oil on the New Holland with sand and gravel. New engine at £15K required. Who will rid us of these pests!
A good educational today, could you not have had the roll behind at the same time, one pass two jobs done?. Great to see Ginger Warrior giving another farming lesson. You seem fated with these drones breaking something each time, will have to come up and fly it for you.
Mike Rom Thanks Mike... yeah it hurt like buggery at the time and is a nightmare milking with cows just knocking it alittle 🙈 it’s on the mend, Mother bear has sorted me right out

Robert Mcwhirter Sorry mate I must have mist you asking. It’s some clay/ heavy land in places and then around the main farm it’s a lot lighter soils. 100’s ago it was the sea front 🙈
Tom, your dad is a genius, legend....he is so informative and knowledgeable. Great teacher, listen to his every word.

Good morning tom.. I love your video's so inspirational. and i always click so fast when u upload... best TH-camr ever.
Great video as always, good insight into the reseeding of grass, sounds simplistic but reading the comments there’s so many right/wrong ways to do it!
Good video love power harrows they are so good at creating a decent seed bed

Power Harrowing a ploughed field creates a good seed bed for a crop to grow. They are growing grass there soon, to make hay in the summer.

Yes, this is wonderful.

Serious safety issue there, when your Dad came out to talk he left the PTO spinning, a seriously bad idea. Those harrows don't take prisoners.
Great video Tom, how old is that harrow? Good to see dad in the video.

Have you rolled the Field prior to power harrowing and if so Why?
You broke a rule when you get out of the tractor you should turn the pto off and have a cover on it

Are the birds looking for worms??
Nice Tom. Did power harrowing a few a weeks ago then used a fertiliser spreaded to spread the seeds then power harrowing again.
tractor which is very convenient, in my country there are no tractors using the cabin😔

I have asked several times the farms soil type - no answer. My guess is clay.

If not why not
We call that a rotor tiller here.
Why are you rolling heavy clay/loam soil? That soil structure is stable and seed right into it after cultivation.
