Adding the brown/ aquapasto was a good idea, it pushed some of the dark lines back, creating depth. I'm going to try the black marble lines with the masking first. Kinda like using the pencil to get rid of the blank page.
@@suezq456 I think the aquapasto worked as well. I have used the marble marks before painting and it worked well. Make sure you use an ink/paint that isn’t water soluble so your lines don’t smear. Have fun! 😍
I so enjoy your videos Trina, thank you for a few more ideas, l didnt mind the crayon resist, it gives layers of light, but your first try is nice too. We're getting a blast from the tail end of the US hurricane tonight, we have hightide as well.......Alioban ❤
@@MixedMediaArtByTrinaWe didn’t have a storm, but on my way to work yesterday, I noticed the most cool cloud effects & I genuinely thought of you & your skies while I grabbed a few photos to use as inspiration for me! There was this big section that looked like someone had done curvy swishy lines with a brush, creating a fluffy semi-rounded cloud with a streaky edge (like some Cirrus clouds & a Cumulonimbus had a baby) & then in other sections, it had really broken up little blobs of clouds in a patch (cirrocumulus clouds) that looked like you’d been dabbing it with a tissue. It was such an unusual combo. I’m so glad I got some pics for painting inspiration.
2:30 That looks so cool. Like a hazy skyline of a small city surrounded by the desert. 15:26 Simply Marblellous! 😁 (apologies for the punny). It reminds me of a famous abstract artist’s work but I have no idea who (super helpful hey lol). I actually like all the resist marks with the marble trails & the sort of zigzaggy landscape. A bit wild but really interesting
Haha! I love the pun! 😂 Totally can see the desert skyline. The resist lines worked for me now after I stepped away and came back to it. The brown Aquapasto really helped bring the piece together. I had a bit of chaos in my life this week and I think it all came out in this painting. Feeling much more grounded today. Thanks Allison! 😍
Good morning Trina…(hope you don’t have the Monday morning blues 😊)…well for a “B” I think it turned out pretty good. After the marble marks (wonderful technique), I was wondering how you would continue and as always you amaze me…it turned out great! The acquapasto helped to bring it together as well as the connecting black lines. All in all, I think this would be interesting to try…need to see if my grandkids had some marbles to lend to grandma. 😊
I love the randomness of the marble marks. It got a bit chaotic but I think you’re correct that the Aquapasto brought it together. Sometimes it’s fun working through the painting to make it work. Thanks so much Katerina! 😍
This came out so awesome! I live in WA State, in the desert part….the watercolor you painted first looked so much like the area we call The Palouse….if you google Palouse landscape (you might have to add in WA, but I didn’t) and look at the images, you will see what I’m referring to.
I love the playfulness of your process.
Thanks so much! 😍
Learning some amazing techniques. And I especially appreciate the reflection on your work at the end. Process!!!
Thanks for watching! I'm glad you enjoyed the process and reflection. 😍

@@alisonlyons4691 thanks Alison! Looking at it again I really don’t mind the resist marks. Are you getting dramatic skies from the storm? 😍
Hope your houses, businesses & other property stay dry & you’re all safe.

The tape worked great! I really have to buy marbles.
