Have been a huge Bill Frisell fan for many years.(check out his ECM era) but this track has to be one of my favourites. Beautiful melody, with a wonderful solo. He just gets better with age. Long may he live and grace us with his genius. Thanks for uploading.
Brilliant as usual bill just keeps getting better and better so sublime and his tone is exquisitive bill and Wes Montgomery two masters at the top of there game just beautiful with just 4 chords
looks like a tv jones or gretsch pick up to me. Saw this whole performance on pbs this afternoon and have spent the past 5 hours trying to find it. He blew my mind. Never heard him before.
IS that a gold foil (Teisco?) pickup he has in his guitar? Like the Ry Cooder pickups? Didn't know Bill rocked one of those. Amazing performance, thanks!
Sounds like a film sound track. It's not jazz but who cares. The bassist looks bored stiff, probably would prefer playing The Girl From Ipanima. It's actually just wall paper music played by someone who is very good at wall paper music. Kinda wall paper music as art.
It's amazing how he can make four simple chords sound like the world
This video is just WONDERFUL! It just doesn't get any better, the style, the sound, classic Frisell.
Batho mfowethu, my brother. You are as sentimental and intelligent ~ beautiful as the artist Frisell himself. Keep it up!
I just love this rhythm section... The boys give it everything... pour their souls out into the night... 10/10
Let he who has ears....hear...
Thanks Bill
The way the chords hit at 8:26 sounds like the clouds parting to make way for the sun.
What a gorgeous rendition.
they go at a slightly faster pace than the pre-recorded riff and Kenny has to pause to tune in to Bil's pace ;-) these guys are great, indeed!
The subtlety is astonishing. What musical vision ...

Just brilliant!
A gorgeous cover version of my favorite Lucinda Williams' song (and there are many great ones).
Bill is a wonderful creature...

Es deliciosa. Frisell es un duede con estrellas en los bolsillos. Su mente...

It’s all in the fingers!
this is drumming at a very high level of musicianship. GB is outta control, man.
Good. Thanks a bunch. :)
Great stuff!!
Where can I get a copy of this show on dvd?

I love Pat Metheny. But defintly Bill. What a great Master of small lines melody and such great sound and harmony.
Why can't I play that way?
I am almost certain you are mistaken and it is indeed a Teisco Ry Coorder gold foil type pickup and not a SD...
Not on one of his albums. Its a lucinda williams song.
One of the best guitarists (jazz) with Wes Montgomery
which album is this from?
this kind of jam makes bill frisell one of the founder of post rock movement
hahahahha u know whats funny my last name is frisell same as spelled as his LOLZ
