Bill Frisell played in Detroit back in 2007. One of the best shows I’ve ever been to. He played a version of Marvin Gaye’s ‘What’s Goin’ On’. Sent chills!!!!
Never noticed Bill using flat wound strings before. Wouldn't matter what he used, of course. Such taste, elegance, creativity and understatement going on here.
How can anyone give this a thumbs down? They have to be tone deaf this is sublime period Bill always plays like this what a master there is nobody like him on the planet today nobody even close to his style a genius period
I've been aware of him for ages via guitar magazines, but have only started listening to his music lately. This is extraordinary stuff. I love how he's not wed to merely jazz or other genres. He just seeks to create something moving and magical which requires improvisation to reach.

You don't need to play fast, you need to use whatener you have learned properly. You have to allow your notes existing. You have to play smart. Bill Frisel is a brilliant guitarist, and i don't know many guitarist who are similar to him.
