Ophir Tintic and Western Train Show in Spanish Fork Utah

- The OT & W train show was held this year at the Fair Grounds in Spanish Fork Utah. In the past the show was held at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi but the move provides a larger space for more modular railroads.
The show included the OT&W modular layouts in HO scale and N scale and the Wasatch N scalers as well as two toy train clubs with two layouts in Lionel 3 rail as well as American Flyer two rail. And fine-scale S scale, fine-scale O scale, and F scale!!

That is one magnificent winter scene. Superb!
I always wanted to build a trainset on a spinning table. The landscape would spin and the train would stay in one spot. Perfect for a window display.
Steve sorta did that. The huge train a cars were fixed in place. On a clock tower. The track and structures and background spun below and behind it. A sign for a burger and ice cream shop.

This was great again! I think my favorite shot was that bright yellow ALCO PA pulling a coal train. of course I love that fine scale S too!

@@ToyManTelevision Right. Incredibly few people are familiar with "The Skater's Waltz," by Emile Waldteufel ("Les Patineurs"). Appropriate for the skating scene on the one N scale module. Your sound editing is world class. Both my parents were professional, classically-trained musicians. But my father still started me in model railroading at the age of five. I missed seeing Karyn there.
@@ioanekirarahu951 6:51-7:07 and at 17:30 and again at 17:43. I usually take video on the other side of the train shows so that we get a video of everything. I have even been known to be in two places at once! The key is to look quickly! LOL!
@@karynfelix-the-Cat Thank you Karyn so much for your reply. I really enjoy you in all of Dale's videos. You two really make a team, and complete each other. My one and only passed away just over two years ago, so I admire Dale for finding such a treasure. In fact, in the November 2021 Intermountain Train Expo video you guys did, that is the last video/photos taken of my Lory before her passing (or before her strokes leading to her passing), when you recorded my S Scale display at that show. I even introduced her to you in the video. One of the best things is that you yourself are also so much into building models also. I really, really enjoyed your video where you built the model of your Honda motorcycle from back in the day. Thank you guys so much. See you this fall, I expect.
PS: We got to meet and know a bit Gil Bennet at the "Wasatch Rails" train show back in 2007, when I first displayed my S scale trains. Unbeknownst to me at the time, Lory purchased from Gil a print of a UP Turbine set in Echo Canyon. It was a wonderful birthday or Christmas gift (I don't remember which now) Lory got for me at the time. So I also had a nice visit with Gil there at this last show, and I-m thinking of ordering another print from him, of that D&RGW 2-10-2 (with the green boiler!). We had the Turbine painting/print framed very nicely, and this other print if I can get it will make a nice set with the Turbine. It was also at that 2007 show that I met Al Badham, and we had a wonderful time there talking about all kinds of model railroading stuff. :) :)

Fun video! Great train show. I haven’t fallen off the earth or anything just super busy the last couple of weeks so super far behind on your videos!
Some years ago a model of that round warehouse was built. The real one was in NYC and was the CJN Bronx terminal.
I can't recall just who did the model, but he did several videos on its construction. It's well worth the search. I did find an article from MRC about an N scale model, but the one I remember was in HO. A fantastic model. All the turnout's were hand built and all track was hand laid and even had a "rail barge".
Sorry Dale, it was almost 10 years ago. Oh well. ;-)

I notice a British train!!! At 3:30, that's LNER (London North Eastern Railway, - the original incarnation having the Flying Scotsman of course), and that's a model of the Hitachi trains which are new to multiple railways over here.
(I'll have a video riding one soon 😉).
I love American, of course, but nice to spot a little British something over there 😁
Amazing right! Love to see those trains. I’m not sure if that is a Stadler Train? I know Stabler makes equipment in factories all over the world, but we have one of those assembly plants right here in town. Sadly, the local railroad doesn’t use any of them! But they might at some point. But it’s always fun to see that equipment no matter where it’s made.
@@ToyManTelevision No, that one will be a Japanese-built Hitachi, a Class 395 "Javelin" I think. It seems all the new inter-city trains here in recent years are Hitachi. Nice trains!
I just had a little look. Apparently we do have some Stadlers here, but only smaller domestic city trains.
That will be so nice for your local Stadler factory to have trains built AND opporating in Salt Lake.

For as large of a city Houston is, there is only one train show! There are other shows but they are far away.
Did you ever follow a fellow TH-camr who recently passed away, Hobo Shoestring, and watch his years long exploits riding the rails from Coast to Coast?
I use Airwire and it's a good system, but if you aren't using it on your other locos then you should change it just for consistency purposes.
Where do you get the info for the local train shows? i usually just google but doesnt come up with much or if i go to a local show and see a flyer. would be nice to see all the local shows
Cool, now I just want to ask doss anyone know of someone who has done an accurate, to scale layout for the bigger model trains, I’m talking like G scale… I know g scale could be a bit too big to do a proper scale model layout, but I just wanted to ask that as I was thinking about how much I like the larger g scale trains, due to all of the smaller details you can only get from the bigger scales…

Yup. Not sure how to connect with this. OT and W has a website. Not sure how to connect with them about the show. Same with NMRA in the fall. The Hostlers really know how to run a show which is why Evanston Wyoming lets them run their show!
