Hello!! How to program the expression automation? I’ve tried several times but didn’t work. I have written the automation line on logic but session strings 2 will not read it. I did not understand how to link it.
what is the software on the left that shows the piano and the midi? is this via kontakt or via daw? i can't get ANY controls on the wheel or aftertouch to - nothing! Thaks!
When taking a closer look, I found out quickly: There is no access to individual instruments, thats a huge drawback. The sounds are like the library ... a little bit poor, BUT in the background for pop, R&B, dance tracks (as described) probably enough.
Question - Is the Novation Launchkey MK3 (49 or 61 keys) sensitive enough in the key velocity to use for these articulations (like the tremolo/crescendi example), or should I get the more expensive Novation SL MKIII to have more quality keys and aftertouch? Basically - will these subtleties work with any mid-price MIDI, or can this be a problem? Perhaps I should contact Native Instruments directly. But they will probably advise getting their Komlpete Kontrol MIDI, and I don't like that one at all - no faders, no pads, just another little computer screen... I already have a computer 😂
Hullo! Do any of you know if it's possible to alter the length of the crescendo (AccCresc Fast) in Sessions Strings 2? And if so, how? Any help would be very appreciated.
are you able to automate the different “techniques?” like say you want pizzicato on one part of a song and tremolo on another part. do you have to just create a new track and open kontakt again?
I ike my Session Strings ll very much but I still cannot find a way to simply save the changes I have made to FX & articulations that suit a particular taste. It seems that any of the SAVE features that I see available take for ever to actually save the "patch", as if it is storing the entire instrument with all of its related samples. Maybe this is the nature of this sort of thing. I am pretty new to this but I was hoping that there would be a better way. Any thoughts on this?
I have Session Strings 1 but its pretty frustrating to understand which strings are in the groups presets. I want to create my own groupings such as 1 violin, 1 viola and 1 cello but I can't! Would love a walkthrough like this for session strings 1
@@ChrisTheAppleOne I haven't unfortunately.... I am not using Session Strings anymore because of this.... when I would like to use strings on a track I use Studio One's 4 own presets for strings, they sound great and are separated.
@@eddiefiscella Correct - pro has the solo instruments, and this one just groups of 2 or 4 i think. And in pro you can adjust the mic position (sound style), and here no.

It's cool in theory but nothing about this allows me to write the parts themselves. Smart Chord itself serves to highlight the problem: you either have an algorithm work on your side or you have nothing work on your side.No avenue for how these 4 instruments are set up. Great if what you want to do is cookie cutter, absolutely terrible if you want to do anything else. It's a shame. But if you want to slap strings on something, sure this is fine. If anything serves to prove what I've said wrong, I certainly didn't see it in this video. Seems like at the end of the day all the purveyors of these technological advancements are in it for is the technological pursuit itself. Not the musical one. Same issue with the session horns pack. Made for some theoretical engineer who's trying to pay the bills by crapping out some strings arrangements. If the vision of your music can be describes as "some strings/horns we'll just slap on"...yeah sure. This is for you. If your vision is anything else, looks like you should keep searching. Seriously, there is a button for octave/vs arrangement. You can't make a handful of instruments play in unison/octave? You can't make a simple arrangement for 2-3 strings/brass instruments? Your skill level is plain as day... Clear who this pack is targeted for: not anyone who is serious about music. That is for sure. It's just shame.
When I use this library I load the sections separately and write each one completely from scratch including expressions and articulations, you can definitely do that if you're not a fan of the pre made arrangements.
@@axel.lessio How do you load a section separately? From what you said I understood that you have one instance for the basses, one for the celli, one for the violas and one for the violins. And then assign 4 midi tracks to play each section separately? In the video I don't see a way to load and use just one section though. Maybe you have the pro version in which there are apparently nki files for each section?
@@LanewoodStudios, I don’t have this plugin anymore but if I remember correctly yes I loaded 4 instances and wrote one voicing each. Now I use Spitfire Audio Abbey Road Two where I literally use one track per instrument.

I had no idea it was the follow up to session strings.
I was mind blown too bro

Can't wait for Sessions Horn 2
Freakin awesome so far. Takes the original sessions to the next level.
I bought it in pre order, without thinking... I do not regret
- Thanks NI!
I brought it and I _do_ regret it! That stuff cost me ~$100 dollars I needed to buy new strings! Ughhh...
I got it for free. Do not regret!
Very good. I was looking for a clean-sounding modern string, and this appears to be it. Lovely UI too. Just ordered.

Yep, serious disco! Let's go.....
Is there no way to open a mixer and pan the individual instruments?
yes
Play them one by one.

With Session Strings do you have the capability to play a solo string instrument separately, as in solo cello or violin?

Yes

Logic Pro X
