Really wish that VSTs have demo versions. I can't get the sound I want with my current string library and I want to see if Session Strings will sound any better without committing to the whole thing😄
I have all the Spectrasonics's suite, and I'm seriously considering to buy komplete very soon. I just get Session strings pro 2 and I'm very impressed! Good job NI!
I just bought this the other day and I'm so excited to use it! I've been using Symphony Essentials String Ensemble which is also great, but that pack has a very specific use. Session Strings Pro 2 seems to be way more versatile.

Does anyone know if it’s possible to drag the created string phrase into my DAW, Ableton for example, much in the way that Studio Drummer allows us to do.
i have a question about rhythm and phrase mode. I can play everything and it triggers all the notes perfectly .. BUT when I RECORD into logic, maschine or FL, it does not record properly, half of the notes do not trigger in those modes.. they are fine in the other modes... any idea about this . Thanks
Can you do a quartet sound (cello, viola, 2 violins) & mimic them being in a small room? Im looking for a small room vibe like I’m sitting right in front of them (and an upright piano). I couldnt achieve that in the $99 version
When I use this library alone in Kontakt, it works perfectly, however, when I use it in conjunction with other libraries (piano, for example) the strings sound like the sustain pedal is always on. Has anyone had this problem and knows how to solve it? Thank you very much.
Although impractical, have you tried bouncing the strings as a wave and then mute the vst just use the wav version with the piano's, this should eliminate crossover if nothing else works.
Hi man! The first thing you do is you click the wheel (settings) button in session strings. There you can choose to use either modwheel or velocity to control the dynamics. Choose modwheel, standard it is assigned to CC11 (expression) but you can also MIDILEARN it to your modwheel if you like. Then open your cc page in fruity loops and start writing =). In this case CC11 isn't just a volume automation but it also controls the dynamics and the bowspeed of the strings which is very useful to create realistic arrangements.
So when a player's finger is on the string, more often than not, once they have found the note, they will begin to bend the note, almost like a singer adding vibrato to their voice. Does this Plug-in have that factor in it? I ask because it doesn't seem to be mentioned here.
It sounds good, but can it just play MIDI ? I bought one of these things from NI before and it was like a toy, tried to be super-clever and auto-create all kinds of magic phrases. I already have a DAW I'm happy with. The last thing I need is another dumbed-down DAW. I want to drive the car. All I want is good-sounding samples for MIDI. Does this provide that? Promo video unclear.
Hi! I'm using Session Strings Pro 2 with Cubase 10. It seems that I can only use modulation cc, activating the mod wheel, but can't use more cc at the same time like expression or main volume. Can anybody help me? Thanks!!!
I don't get the part of the pitch bend wheel activating the articulation since from what I understood are triggered by pre define keys, can anyone explain ?
Use pitchbend before the note play to trigger slide into note. How much the bend is done defines speed of bend. Use pitchbend while note is playing to slide out. How much the bend is defines the speed.
Is there a way to downgrade to the authentic and original Session Strings? Or simply also have it installed next to Session Strings? Please!? Anyone? I really prefer the legato of the original Session Strings. Thanks

Overall seems pretty meh, but it's somewhat of a budget string library, so you get what you pay for. If you have a considerably larger budget, Spitfire Chamber Strings can do more while covering any pop purposes. I guess I'll get this whenever I update to the next version of Komplete, otherwise I'll pass.
It is when you're comparing it to larger libraries that cost closer to a thousand. Also, all Native Instruments libraries have sales, including crossgrade/upgrade sales of 50% at some point, so this will be very inexpensive after all the discounts whenever it is on sale. I'm in no hurry to get it, as I'd rather just learn to use my SWAM instruments better. It's a lot more work(a ton more really) to get it right, but I think it's worth it in the long run.
Flat B If you need a larger sound sure but EW isn't competing with this smaller sized ensemble. I do appreciate the mic positions/extras with EWQL HS Diamond but the library is a bit dated and you may find better from Orchestral Tools "Berlin Strings" and Spitfire products.

I would use it for all genres of music ( including Disco! ). I have already used the Halion 6 Strings library for 70s Disco. Back in 1993 I used my Yamaha PSS-790 keyboard. My Roland SC-88 Pro also still has half decent strings useable to any genre of music.
