I'm surprised you shot log and I thought it looked a little different to your usual stuff but I must say it worked really well here with all that wood and the skin looks good too.
Great video dude! Over the weekend I shot some footage with om log and what I discovered is that using the custom white balance with a grey card is a must. It really helps get rid of some of the weird green matrixy tint the om log ads. I also picked up a tiffen BPM filter. The olympus is so sharp that adding that really helps smooth it out in a positive way. I meant to grab the 1/8 strength but got sent a 1/4 in stead. Honestly I think 1/4 works for this camera, especially if your using log where you can't adjust the sharpening in camera.
Yeah, that's kinda why I like the Glimmer glass, its softness it in a pretty natural way without adding so much halation to the highlights. And yeah I noticed when I white balance every time it does tend to look better, converting it to arri log-C with cinematch and going from there also has given me really good results

Hi Nigel. Awesome content by the way and I love your channel. You mention in this clip (from 4:21) that the All-I codec in the EM1-Mark II camera to be a little disappointing in terms of detail compared with the IPB codec. Would you say that the GH3 and/or G85 provide more detail specifically in the 1080p space compared with the EM1-Mark II? Just wondering why you chose the EM1-Mark II over the Lumix G85? I find that the used EM1-Mark II market to be a little more expensive than the Lumix G85 offerings, at least in Australia. I know you've moved on from the GH3 yet I still can't help but think that for under AU$300, you can get so much for so little. Of course, once you experience the IBIS phenomena, it's hard to go back to anything less. I'm leaning towards the G85 in my case, although I understand the EM1-Mark II appears to have naturally better colours and a little more dynamic range than the G85.
The quality of your footage is sick! Im between a panasonic G9 and an OM 1 ii , which has better video quality in your opinion since your familiar with both?
The G9 rocks and built the majority of my channel talking about that camera and micro 4/3 cameras if you want to check it out!

@@MatthewDangyou No doubt! Hey, tell me this & why ; If had to choose 3 micro third cameras strictly for your video production, what would they be?
@@themichaelkang Really depends on your budget! I mean personally speaking my three dream camera set up (if they had to be different cameras) would be the GH6, Z Cam E2 M3, GH5 Mark ii. If I was on a budget (which I am) Gh6 is a camera I still would save up for but if not that then Gh5 Mark ii Panasonic Gh5 and Panasonic G9. Professionally speaking. My future set up will be the Gh6, G9, and G7 for my professional shoots. Each camera has a lot of different pros to them and the higher costing one has the other ones. A lot of video production if you can get 4k 10 bit at least up to 60fps you will be solid for majority of your shoots for commercials and professionally speaking!
HI Nigel, Just curious why you picked the Olympus over the Lumix on this job. I am coming out of video production retirement and I have been tempted to get an M50 cause I like Canon ergos, but I am leaning toward a micro 43 system because I have had an Omd em5 since the dawn of time and I know how good that stabilization is. Any thoughts?
Why did you choose the glimmer glass over the promist??
I'm kinda over the pro mist look right now, glimmer glass gives you that less sharp look without the bloomy highlights
@@NigelBarros Would you consider doing a review on it, explaining your decision in detail. I purchased the promist based off of your and other film makers review of it.
Also the product line of glimmer glass, black satin etc. Naming is confusing.

how do you configure the timeline when you work with 4k and 1080 videos at the same time?
I just scale up my 1080 to fit the 4k frame!
The half cage that you use, would that also fit the Om-1?
Smallrig actually just released a half cage for the OM-1 and it will fit the E-m1 mk II and Mk III
