It was obvious from Peter's initial declaration that a man had to save his mother - and visual hint that Peter wore rubber gloves to handle the rope made from hide that killed Phil - the same gloves that he wore to cut up the dead cow.
I think you guys are missing something. The fact that he was doing Phil a kindness. By "putting him out of his misery" like the rabbit. Peter is strong/superior both in intelligence and in countenance and Phil ends up dead because he doesn’t see it. Phil sees what he wants to see.

I do hate how you can predict the whole plot from the trailer, but it was still good. (I think I’m my 30s, no movies can surprise me anymore). I love that I predicted what would happen though. It’s good. As a quiet introvert who deals with adult bullies, Peter is my hero. You don’t need to be loud or violent to be strong.
SPOILER ALERT Throughout the film it feels we're told what will happen, that was my only disappointment. Both the trailer and the narrative announce the conclusion, and every act is another nail hammered in... All the actors were absolutely phenomenal, though. They were perfect, Oscar-worthy performances.

I also like The Hostiles tho very violent. About the lack of empathy and civility as we drove West and Jane Campion is the absolute queen of film.
Academy award for best actor 2022 😍
Yes! If only I can vote for him!
Will Smith??
I do hate how you can predict the whole plot from the trailer, but it was still good. (I think I’m my 30s, no movies can surprise me anymore). I love that I predicted what would happen though. It’s good. As a quiet introvert who deals with adult bullies, Peter is my hero. You don’t need to be loud or violent to be strong.
Spoiler alert: Science, bitches!
That is what his father thought of him, that he was too strong. He is.
SPOILER ALERT
Throughout the film it feels we're told what will happen, that was my only disappointment. Both the trailer and the narrative announce the conclusion, and every act is another nail hammered in... All the actors were absolutely phenomenal, though. They were perfect, Oscar-worthy performances.
Excelente em tudo, 2 talentos q desempenharam o trabalho de forma brilhante, impressionante, sinistro
Ending blew me away.👏
At school everyone laughs that I'm obsessed, that I'm crazy and they know that I would do everything for Ben, that's why they love to call Ben cucumber and it makes me angry and they just laugh at me, but I don't care, they can laugh at me, but I will always support him. After all, this man saved my life.
Why cucumber lol
@@goodbrainwork because of Cumberbatch.
You just carry on with your high regard for one of the most outstanding Actors of a generation. He will still be making Art long after you are finished High School, and no longer have to deal with the haters and bullies. You do you, dear.
There is nothing wrong with loving a good man and his art.
The best thing you can do for him is to live your life to the fullest, to keep yourself safe, and to delight in the joy of others.
Benedict Cumberbatch got a tan from making this film. Watched it last night and will rewatch it again. There were some beautiful, ariel shots of the landscape...just beautiful.
I can't wait for this movie to come out
It’s coming to Netflix.
still remember watched little kodi in that apocalyptic movie with viggo mortensen. i'm old..
which was that? Viggo was at SIFF a few yrs back & I think he is a tremendous Person!
BRAVO to you, Kodi; so brilliant; thank you :-)
Bravo for these incredible actors! I sensed so much of Brokeback Mountain's Ennis del Mar in Phil Burbank! So much pain that he cannot control, just because he keeps hiding who he is.
I just don’t understand why Benedict hasn’t received an Oscar by now……two Oscars for that matter
No. Lifetime Achievement.
There’s still time…
Should have won for Imitation Game. He was amazing
Should have won for Imitation Game. He was amazing
Same for Kirsten. It's true. Watching them in the same film, along with two other brilliant actors, was just a reminder to me of how underrated both of them are.
Amazing interview- Damn!!!
Benedict Cumberbatch is a fine fine actor. Love the guy!
Kodi es un actor que llega al alma con sus actuaciones , es un actor grandioso
Absolutely beautiful film! That payoff was amazing.
So I can't marry Benedict Cumberbatch, but is it possible for me to marry his voice?
I wanna marry his cheekbones
