A fine example of "you get what you pay for" here. There are many things i consider overpriced, Rockstead is not one of them. I was completely impressed with the performance of this knife. The brick hits were painful to watch, but the mirror finish took so little damage from it. No sane person would use any knife for that kind of use. With the edge retention on that, it would make an incredible hunting knife for game processing. My greatest fear would not be using it, but losing it in the woods. I curse you bastards for seriously considering buying one now!
definitely! It's worth it if you can appreciate it. No things in life go up in price equal to performance but you do get a functional peace of art here

Honestly disappointed in how it gets dirty as easily as it does when the tight tolerances are supposed to help prevent that. Overall, don’t recommend them, and their customer service is shit too.
The mirror polish reflection right before the brick destruction was tripping me out. Such a gorgeous knife, it was hard to see but exciting. Thanks for putting out content that never disappoints after all these years!
I'd like to see you do an old school review on a Kephart style knife. You've got several modern options from LT Wright, Bark River, and even the Ka-Bar BK62. I'd love to see how such an iconic and classic design holds up today.

I had to pause the video and take a breather before watching you shoot this knife lol. I'm blown away by the performance of this blade and that it survived being shot at ~67HRC.

i remember several, several years ago when i was fascinated by a rockstead representative at the knife makers convention in solingen, germany cutting heavy japanese rope day in, day out for two days with the exact same knife, just stropping it regularly in between...and still that knife was sharper than a razor and still beaming that mirror finish. Despite the obvious language barriers we exchanged business cards (i still, to this day have his card) and one year later...at another iteration of this convention one of their than-unnamed pre-production folders was handed to me. Still cherish it to this day, use it regularly, its always with me...and still performing like a beast. I truly believe they infuse some ancient samurais into that blade steel to make them perform like that. And normally i'm not a guy to pay that much for a knife. It was kinda an impulse buy i never regretted. Thanks for the .."practical" review of a truly special knive

You really had that knife buried into that log when you shot it. Did you baton the butt to do that? Perhaps that "pre-stressed" the micarta and put a small linear crack in it so it could not take the intense vibration of the shots. Great video as usual guys!!

Rockstead should invite you for a company tour and they should pay your way for you to visit their facility. That would be a pretty good video especially if you could interview those who design the knives, make and finish them.

A ROCKSTEAD! 😰😖😩 That said, it was also like a great suspense, comedy, thriller movie all in one! 😎👍It was amazing to see what the Rockstead was capable of and good to know it's not all just hype. This is one of those knives I hope to get someday if I can afford it! If I do ever get one, it will likely sit in a display case in my living room! This is the first review video I’ve ever watched that had my heart pounding and I actually gasped when the handle shattered.
I think this test proves that super steel at high hardness are not as brittle or as fragile as glass. As a lot of people say they are.
