I have had CC for around a year now & watched lots of tutorials, yours are by far the best I have come across and that includes purchased courses. You do not rush & speak clearly, (great for someone like me with hearing problems). I am so pleased I came across your videos. Thank you so much for taking time to make them.
LOVE that you reiterate simple/useful steps for us like maximizing desk space, short cuts, undo features , the order of the edit steps you use etc... It's so helpful for not only retention but also so I/we don't have to refer back to anything if following along on a personal project :)
This is an example of a person who can teach with knowledge and experience, fantastic tutorial even for pro's who thought they knew it all like me , thanks !!! i learnt heaps and will cut hours of future post production...
Lightroom was very frustrating to navigate at first so this video has helped me to not only understand the navigation but realize just how powerful a tool it can really be! And a great big hooah for no obnoxious music in the background! ;) Well done. Thank you Mr. M!
Everything I know about Lightroom I've learned from Anthony Morganti. These videos are the next best thing to having a mentor sitting beside you as you learn. I generally watch a video once or twice without taking notes and then watch it once more, pausing as needed and taking notes about the specific commands and settings. I then attempt the learned techniques on one of my own photos. These videos are very helpful to me and Anthony's presentation style is outstanding. I don't think I could learn Lightroom as well if I paid for a multi-day Lightroom training class. The biggest benefit for me is learning the workflow and some starting points for adjustments. Before watching these videos I just randomly started moving sliders around and the results were almost always bad. These videos provided me with baseline information and introduced me to the tools available in Lightroom. I'm grateful for having these videos.
I have learned so many different techniques by watching Anthony's videos that I can thank him enough. I try and watch one or two videos an evening to continue learning more about Lightroom and Photoshop. Keep up the great work Anthony!
I can't tell you what a treasure you are when found Anthony. This video just helped me with a photo I took of a model that had acne on really one side of her face, and following your steps left me astounded at what I was able to do. Thank you!
This should be the first video anybody watches before dating somebody whose picture you found on the internet. :) Seriously though, you're doing photographers a great service with these videos, and I'm learning so much. My before/afters are mind blowing thanks to your easy to follow instruction.
Transitioning from PS to LR for faster workflow... I learned more in these few videos than I could have ever imagined. You answered SO many questions... questions I forget I even had. THANK YOU. Those short cuts will make life so much easier - and you really took the intimidation out of it. Thank you, master teacher!!
just got the 30 day trial for lr cc, and have been watching your videos. Your videos are wonderful!! I will definitely be using lr cc permanently after what i've learned. Thanks!!
Ive been following you for a while now and I've learned so much from you, i wanted to say a big THANK YOU , i am now a better photographer and my confidence is through the roof. My Lightroom skills are now up to scratch too. I always recommend you to people i know.
The very best group of lightroom tutorials I have ever seen...so easy to follow that finally I am starting to get the benefit from Lightroom that I always wanted...thank you Anthony very much
I don't know if it has been mentioned but don't forget that when you use the brush tool, if you press the o key on your keyboard it turns overlay on, like when you hover over the button that you just painted, and it makes it easier to see what you are painting and where the changes are being applied. Its handy when you are covering a sky or water or skin as in this case to make sure you haven't missed any parts. I learnt this from you Antony In your Lightroom 5 videos. Much appreciated, your tutorials are fantastic. I send all my friends that are new to photography to your youtube page. Thanks again, Stuart. Belfast, N.Ireland.
Thank you so much. I had only watched the first two episodes when my Son's senior prom came around, and even with that little knowledge, the pictures are so much more professional looking than the people who took snapshots last year. My son, his girlfriend, her family and everyone else that has looked at them has been very impressed. I'm continuing to go through the rest of them and trying out what I've learned. Having a great time. Thanks again.
I'm so impressed Anthony. And thankful. Besides you are a wonderful teacher, your English is clear and easy to understand. I'm not englishspoken myself (Swede) and I also have a smaller hearingproblem (I do use headphones wich is very helpful). But I have no problem whatsoever to follow your lessons. So, thanks a lot for your efforts to make the rest of the world understanding Lightroom. Keep up the good work!
Anthony I have tried several software programs and have settled on LR6, your videos the most helpful I have found. Thank you for the great work and all the time and effort you have put into these videos. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Just to let you know that when healing underneath a previous healing action you dont have to move or start outside the existing action, you can push the button H and all previous healing markings are hidden. this means you can easily work on the area you need. Push H again and they return.
Im using lightroom years now and i always adjusting the brush manually,i didn't know about the epic presets...Amazing...As always your tutorials are simple the best.Thank you
Anthony - these tutorials on Lightroom 6 are amazing, thank you for explaining the functions so clearly. I have just purchased Lightroom 6 so I am looking forward to putting your teaching methods into practice.
Removing spots / healing in an area that has an active tool above it is possible by choosing "tool overlay --> never" instead of "always" or "selected" on the left hand side of the bottom menu band. So there's no need to start outside the relevant area. This is how I do it - I can't learn all the shortcuts by heart... Thank you very much for the great videos by the way!!
Anthony I wanted to say thank you so much for your videos. I've just gotten into photography and the steady pace and explanations you give are top notch. It really has been a tremendous help to me!
another great lightroom video Anthony. you are right on time with this video. in my digital photography class we are working on editing portrait just like this and other ways. this video is going to be a great help to me. thanks again my friend. look forward to the next one.
Great video for beginers. I have watched several tutorials and yours is the most informative. You take the time to tell us what buttons are being pressed. Keep it up!!
Hey Anthony! Great videos, I'm a fan and subscriber. I often do portraits and photoshoots with models, but I watched your tutorials on landscape processing in Lightroom and I thought "hey why not?". So I'm using your landscape photography tips on Basic Panel, even for portraits, and people love the results actually. These have been my "all time best photos" so far. Combined with the tips from this video, altough I started photo editing long before I watched this video here, I was so glad to find you actually do the same stuff I do in portraits. Namely, I can leave my own tips here for people, if you don't mind. These are just a twist from this video here, but they work very nicely: > Press Z key to cycle betwen "entire image" and "close-up zoom". > Instead of adjusting the hair like you said, I use the Iris Enhance template. Works like a charm with blond, brown, and red hairs (just NOT black ones). Adjust if needed. > I like to enhance the eyelids of my models, that will enhance the makeup artist's work too. I use the "Burn (Darken)" template, and pass it through the eyelids, touching both the eyebrows and the eyelashes too. Remove the excess with ALT key (to keep the eye and iris sharp and brighter). > White balance? Sure, I use the white balance selector and pick in the white region of the model's eye. If the skin gets too yellow, then I go to the HSL Panel and adjust both the hue and saturation for orange and yellow. Skin gets real natural and with a warm feel. So, thank you again for your tips, and keep doing an excelent job! ^_^ Btw, I actually wrote a 3 part tutorial in my own language (Portuguese) for people to learn Lightroom, and I used part of your method here: marciosilvadesign.wordpress.com/area-tecnica/ My page here, for everyone who wants to visit: facebook.com/msdesignfoto/
Awesome tutorials! I'm following them in order... that much I think they're worth the time investment. You may address this at a later tutorial, but when you mentioned that the only way to treat a spot within an already treated area was to drag from the outside.... I just found that if you click DONE at the bottom of the screen all healed spots are accepted and dissappear so you con go back and retreat some areas as needed, that way you're not dealing with so many circles... Thank you for putting so much time and effort!!!
By the way, you can heal over spots already healed by another technique other than 'dragging in' as you showed. If you hit H it hides the overlays, then you can add another, then hit H again to see them. Hope this helps. Great videos, looking forward to the rest.
Anthony - you may know this, but you don't have to mouse over the brush control button to see the red overlay, just hit the O key and it'll toggle it on and off. Makes it really easy to fine tune exactly where it's being applied since it stays there even when you're painting or erasing.
Ryan Maziarz Yes, I mention that in one of the videos. There are so many I don't remember which one. Thank you for mentioning it and thanks for watching!
Just started your series ... I am Learning so much I have heard about Adobe Lightroom watching various photoshop tutorials ... I Just now downloaded it and I am LOVING your Tutorials Thanks so much Your very Talented HUGZ & I must mention PHLEARN you teach a lot of the same way he does -- Slow and understandable ! ty
Cool vid! I had no idea Lightroom had all the tools/techniques that I would normally use in Photoshop. I use Adobe Camera Raw but I see most of the equivalent tools in there as well. Personally I wouldn't remove the dark area below the eye. The shadow helps give the eye volume under the skin and when removed it looks somewhat artificial. A think just a little lighten would do the trick.
When you're zoomed in using the brush tool, if you need to move around the image hold space bar. That will turn the mouse into the hand tool and you can move/zoom as needed to continue adjustment.
I've watched this episode already but will most definitely watch again (as other videos of yours lol; I am busy and then I forget). I haven't taken the time yet to look, but do you have other Lightroom videos that have people in them? Any studio shots that you use Lightroom to process the images?
Hi Anthony, in minute 18.22 you are saying that the only way to use the heal tool upon another is to start from outside and drag it inside. The easier way is to change the overlay tool from auto to none, so u can do what ever you want, when you are done, you'll change the overlay tool back again to auto.
I know this is an older video, but to do a healing brush over an area that you already have one, on the bottom under tool overlay, change from Auto to Never and you can easily add more on top of it.
I'm really enjoying your tutorials! In regards to this Portrait Retouch tutorial, I had kind of hoped you would of touched on removing the wispy hair. Is this issue addressed in a later tutorial?
Anthony I absolutely adore your photos, could you do a series of outside portraits or landscapes with people in it. They seem different to touch up. I watch almost all your videos (I was most of the way through LLR5 and I noticed you started LLR6) and I don't believe this was touched on. I dont think you can do the standard highlights down and shadows up. Also one specifically for sunsets/sunset portraits. I know this is asking a lot, you rule, big fan, I have a hard time watching other tutorials because they don't dissect the nuances as well and smoothly. Thanks again for everything!
I am VERY new to Lightroom and so far have learned a lot from your tutorials. Thank you! One question. Where is the Custom tab under the brush tool? I have Lightroom 6 but do not see "custom" when i select the brush tool. Help
Hi Anthony, please explain how touching the background to paint curves to banish the shadow effect behind the nostrils worked, rather than the background colour remaining? Thanks and regards, Joe

Anthony, you can also tap the "o" key while a brush is active and will show you the area that is painted. Just like hovering over the indicator.

Hello, you mentioned that the photo has a harsh light, so how do we fix such a problem, please?
Fantastic tutorial well explained
great video and pace - thanks
Nice tutorial. Thank you for a totorial-Video that have a nice speed
Hi Anthony, I learn a lot from your videos, thank you very much for your efforts on explaining things with great clarity! I do have a question. I have processed an image of an elderly person, with a lot of details in the face, hair and beard. However, when I exported it into jpeg, I found that almost all the details have been lost. Is there a way to export the image in any format which will retain the details, sharpness, contrast and exposure without losing any of it? Thank you in advance.
I am so glad I found you:) great video's.
