Also, what Atsumu says when he sets: "This position. This timing. This angle. It's perfect", is the same thing Kageyama says in season one when they lose to Seijoh... by having their quick blocked.
Yup. “Donpisha” (Kageyama) and “Donpishari-hyogo dialect” (Atsumu) means the same. It Means right on, dead on, fitting to a T, on the button, perfectly correct.
Risky serve yes but new I don't think so. Tsukki I believe tried it in the Shiratorizawa match too. Similar to when he feints, he does the same thing until they thing that's all he'll do and then switch it up.
It's a really tiny thing but a yet another parallel between Atsumu&Osamu and Kageyama&Hinata never fails to make me a bit emotional: when he says that Hinata doesn't trust Kageyama but instead simply thinks/knows the ball will be there for him to spike, it's pretty much the exact same way Osamu was thinking about Atsumu in the beginning of the match ("I don't trust him, I just know the ball will come"). That's probably why Osamu asks him what's so weird about that next - because that's exactly what they are doing too, but Atsumu doesn't seem quite as aware lol. And with these parallels and many other things you've already mentioned, I feel like the author managed to put a perfect seeded team for Karasuno to have an upset against: with just enough similarities and just enough of that ~craziness~, hunger, the kind that made them go for the quick in the end and head for a bitter finale that Kageyama and Hinata have already experienced in S1 against Seijou. Poetry :")
(just in case, small spoiler for episode 25 of S4) - - - - - - - To make it even better, this also adds as to why Atsumu told Hinata that someday he would set for him. Osamu, even tho he still has the mindset that you explained, is also losing love for Volleyball, so Atsumu is seeing for the first time how that certainty of "the ball will come and I will spike it" is combined with "I will give my 120% to spike it, cause that's what I love doing", for Atsumu who also gives his 120% for every set he makes cause like he said, he's a setter, Hinata is simply looking as the perfect spiker for him, which is why at the end of ep 23 we see him saying "I'm moved, Shoyo-kun".
"Speed is a very very strong weapon. It's charming and cool but it's not invincible. They knew that a little better than everyone else." I love Tsukki's line at the end so much!
My favorite part of the reaction was Carson resigning himself to thinking he was right as the twins had their epic moment to the Pog face when they blocked it. Always have faith in our boys, like Lindsay did
That last point is similar to when they lose to Aoba Josai the first time, their quick got blocked and from that Kageyama and Hinata knew that the quick is not invicible.
Omg I can't believe how amazing Lindsay summarized this arc. I always wait for her analysis and when she started talking about how this arc is different because Karasuno won due to their receiving skills instead of the usuall attack ones, I immediately started grinning. This arc really highlighted Karasuno's growth in so many aspects. You two are truly top tier Haikyuu reactors who understand what the author wants to convey. 💞 Also, let us all wait for the season 5 announcement this weekend!🤞
It's satisfying seeing Hinata and Tsukki finally understand the real meaning of "teamwork" previously described in the OVA. Tsukki trust Hinata, just as Lev believe in the Nekoma's first year libero. And they are all first year members in their teams ! The author is so good at these details.
We are all Suga crying that our orange spiker finally learned the pleasure of receives. It's like Iwaizumi said during their match with Seijo. And like Noya always knew. A killer spike is awesome, but making a seemingly impossible dig is somehow even more awesome than that. (Of course stuff blocks and setter dumps are too omggg volleyball is such a great team sport omggggggg)
The only people on the court who knew 100% when and how the quick was coming in that last rally were Kageyama and Hinata and I think that's a great testament to how similar their dynamic is to Atsumu and Osamu, twin brothers who have literally been playing and growing up with volleyball their WHOLE LIFE. Always makes me think how insane and out of control Kageyama and Hinata could have been if they had known each other earlier, like Iwaizumi and Oikawa.
That's why one of the first things Coach Ukai asks after seeing the freak quick is if they've been playing together since middle school. The chemistry is undeniable
Not enough credit is given to Ukai and his development as a coach. He is brave to give all players a chance, believes in his team, calls time outs at the perfect time (he run out of time outs in his first match against nekoma), helped all players develop and accommodated their improvements into a cohesive playing style, gave the team identity, does not force players into his believes but adapts his own to serve the team. What a journey for someone who didn't want to babysit teenagers!
Speed is a powerful tool. But speed is also a curse. Ahhhhhhhhhh! The twins learning the lesson that Hinata and Kageyama learned at the end of season 1. The freak quick is an amazing weapon, but it can still fail. Tsukki narrating that moment is freakin chef's kiss!
“We don’t need the memories”. What this is initially portrayed as through the amazing skill of Inarizaki and the Miya twins in particular, is that all that matters is the here and now and that you can’t live off memories, so you must drive yourself in the now with all that you have and forget the past. But Kita’s words earlier changed the complexion a bit when he stated that he doesn’t like the motto because it seems to disregard the importance of the past. He firmly believes that we are the result of everything before us. It’s a perspective of maturity that Atsumu doesn’t yet consciously acknowledge. This helps incorporate a new thematic message and a new spin on the banner motto. It isn’t about being reckless and forgetting the past, it’s about giving it your all using the experiences learned from the past that become ingrained in your body. And this concept is particularly relevant in the final point of this match as an encapsulation of who Atsumu is. They lost primarly because he got caught up in the fun and expression of the Monster's ball, and came up against the block of two who had tried that in the past, failed in the same manner (vs Seijoh in season 1), and learned from their mistake through not forgetting that memory which opened the path of their growth. And though the pain of defeat can be difficult to endure, there’s always another chance to go again and experience it once more. And so with this approach, this motto turns from rash to incredibly wise and balanced. And one of the most beautiful things about Haikyuu!! is that these little tidbits of life advice that are presented to us through the characters can be used in any walk of life, in any context.
One of the best interpretation of the Inarizaki banner I have ever read!!! Furudate Sensei leaving such beautiful plot points open to interpretation just makes one appreciate the story more and more!!
Wow, i can't believe Carson just made me visualize myself doing something epic, then sitting down with a smirk on my face while taking a sip from a *satisfying* mug
Hinata really went into S4 exclaiming that he IS the main character thank you very much! 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡 I love him, his growth, his fantastic showing in this match. The "let's take it easy" bright smile and the poetic co-block of the Miya twins' freak quick is all-time greatest anime moments, hands down.
When it comes to the blockers in this series, I would still rank higher those that get the stuff blocks, just because it's so cool- Kuroo, Aone, Tendo, players you haven't met yet hehh- but Tsukki's blocking (and Matsu's, too, from Seijo) I find to be so sweet. For how much of an abrassive, sarcastic, shit-talking, smart ass he is, his play style is actually so team-centric it just warms the feels 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Honestly the fact that you thought they might lose was very refreshing - most reactors just assume plot armour (rightly so tbf) and it added just a bit of unusual vibe to the games since till the last moment you didnt expect the ball to drop.
I cry every time hinata receives the ball for Take it easy because is shows how much he has grown from practice and hard work . He’s come such a long way since Episode 1 and it just make me so happy that we get to see his progress. Plus the nostalgia hits so hard I fkn Love this show so much. !!!!
People have started noticing a countdown on the official haikyuu website which I think is at a day and a half now. So hopefully something exciting happens then
"Maybe their gonna loose, inarizaki its too strong" yeah, dont mind, a lot of us also thought that. But there's facts, an one of them its that even with that advantage, our boys could beat them because inarizaki's team (almost all of them) realem believed that yesterday didn't matter, that they just had to focus on the present and somehow "forget" the mistakes of the past. But NOOOO our boys knew that their mistakes and lost games were thanks to the fact that they were not prepared, that they had mistakes, and now, when their opponent used their weapon against them, they know how to fight. Because yeah, they also thought that speed was everything, that it was "the ultimate weapon" and now they have new movements, weapons and apprenticeships. Speed it not everything, because you have blocks, receptions, feints and physical strength where you can work to use when its necessary. Above all, now my boys know that volleyball should not seem overwhelming, that you can't always take it easy
This is one of my favorite matches in the series simply because of everyone on Karasuno’s growth, especially Hinata, Tanaka, and Kageyama. I always tear up watching this match, when each of them gets their “moment”
I can absolutely say that this particular episode of haikyuu, that you have the best reaction of all the reactions I've seen, the perfect amount of hypeness but still keeping a deep analysization and attention to details. Some reactors would just hype without knowing any details but you, Carson and Lindsay is the most satisfying reaction video I've ever had in the moment so keep doing all of your best to your reaction and your reaction to haikyuu anime and anime in general are one of the best to keep doing all your best and I Love you Both❤❤❤
I mean from theme perspective, Karasuno need to win because they have experience everything in this match from the past team and player they play with. From the speed of curse to killer serve. It all came down to them putting that experience too good use and it the end they did by blocking the Twins quick. While the mindset of the Twins of always to try new thing and improve themselves as a better player comapare to their yesterday self is really good, Hinata and Kageyama show that remembering the past is not the same as getting stuck and become complacent with it. Even their most painful lost against Aoba Johsai become precious experience that let them score the last point. For me, this is the easiest Karasuno win to predict because everything just leading to this exact moment. The moment when everthing that they have been through, both joy of winning and pain of losing, would came and help them win the match.
This game's ending is the mirror image of Season 1 game 2 vs Aoba Johsai where they knew that in their last play they were going to use the quick and blocked it. The fact this happened to Hinata and Kageyama helped them in this situation... so they needed the memories which is the opposite for Inarizaki's motto
funneling is the actual volleyball term for limiting their options to one destination so that was cool to hear Carson say whether he knew that was a term or not. Glad yall enjoyed the series so far, keep your eyes out for an announcement, supposed to be one in the next couple days on the official haikyuu site

I waited for this special episode to see Carson's shock when he sees Karasuno win. It was worth it ! Of course, Lindsay's predictions are always true and accurate !
Who would've thought that Tsukishima "It's just a club" Kei would ever dive for a ball like that. Great game, Inarizaki is a great team, skill and personality-wise. I love the parallels between the twins and Kageyama and Hinata and all the themes this game portrayed.
I LOVE YOU LINDSAY!!!❤❤❤ FOR IMMEDIATELY NOTICING HINATA'S PASS TO BE SO HIGH AND YOU AND CARSON LOOKING PROUD TO OUR BABY HINATA SHOYO EVEN MAMA SUGA IS CRYING, THAT PASS MADE ME EMOTIONAL SO MANY TIMES 😭😭😭😭😭😭
When it faded out nd Hinata put it up in the air just made the moment very meaningful especially when he blocked the serve with Kageyama and when they won loved yalls reaction to it made my day.
yesss, tsukki funneling the ball to hinata, trusting he's going to get the ball up !! (“[...] but i can't, so you better be there" 😭). and look at Carson talking like a volleyball connoisseur haha 18:32. and Lindsay with the thorough analysis of the game changers for this match. that's what haikyuu does for you. but yeah honestly the tsukki monologues this match hit the hardest. specially after the last point. “i think everyone was surprised. but we weren't. in a battle lasting 0.1 seconds it was only these two who didn't waver even a millimeter at the twins' insanely fast attack from the back. speed is a very, very strong weapon. it's very charming and cool. but it's not invincible... they knew that a little better than anyone else”. uff it gives me the chills every time 😖 great reaction, guys !! thank you for understanding what haikyuu is all about.
So glad you guys are finally finishing up this amazing series truly one of the Goats in Anime. And if you guys like this type of story and theme Kuroko no Basket is also a very popular and amazing sports anime that I'm sure you'll love based on what you guys think of this series. Every time I watch either one of these animes I can't help but to compare them to each other.
Saturday (13/08) they gonna do a Haikyuu VLeague special match with real people and it is very likely that they will announce Season 5 of Haikyuu after that match
I'll love to see They reaction of the call with the shiratorizawa's coach about Hinata and that game in next episode. They dont know about How invested that coach IS on Hinata here from the end of this show in manga
I love Haikyuu!! But if you want another sport anime, pick "Daiya No Ace" (Diamond No Ace). It's my fav sport anime and it has it all : the characters, the action, the growth, the soundtrack. It's based on baseball and I didn't knew the rules but it's so addicting! Great reaction BTW!
it's so hard not to buy all the haikyuu apparel available. I managed to fight temptation and only have mostly Tendo and Kenma hoodies and a few team shirts. But I want ALL the hoodies and jerseys and shoes and christmas sweaters.
If you guys notice, this is the same way karasuno lost against seijoh in the 1st season. It was the first time the twins used a back attack minus tempo which is what kageyama and hinata did for seijoh
Inarizaki lost the exact same way Karasuno lost in S1. Even with the same words Kageyama said when he was confident about that quick. Cool shot, but they improvised, abused it and become predictable. And obviously poetic justice, you can't beat the OG at their own game. Still, someone else managed to consistently using the "impossible quick". I really liked the change of pace for the finale. Usually karasuno won with the hero Hinata and his quick, now he learned that even defence exists XD And a directly shared match point is good too.
i bet that if you ask the twins if they regret anything they did in the match they would answer : "Not a single thing, and i would do it all over again every single time".
And i will be completely honest here Karasuno win was not luck by any means. I still think this was a big upset and that most of the time in other parallel universes Inarizaki is winning the match.
You should watch My Hero Academia next! The composers are the same for both shows, so you'll have some very familiar sounding tracks! And it's not an obnoxiously long anime!
Carson has probabaly watched Ping Pong the Animation but ill recommend that.. Great Teacher Onizuka HunterxHunter These are my picks.. im not sure how the first two are gonna do well in views but ill recommend it anyways.. This was really fun show watching with you guys..
For me inarizaki is the team that i love the most from any team in haikyuu except for karasuno Not a single bad character in that team Not the best match in the series the 2nd match against seijoh i think is the best
But you were right, this was so extremely close. Karasuno shouldn't have won, if it wasn't for Hinata. Before the training camp he would only think about his next spike. Now he has the whole game in mind and the whole play field in sight. His spikes didn't decide this match, although they made it possible, but his two critical recieves and his tactical thinking made it happen. Hinata true mvp!
OMG, that was amazing, it reminded me of how hyped I was when I first watching this ep too! (Still hyped though and more emotional after I don't know how many times I have rewatched...) Watch demon slayer next, or Fruits basket (in Subs) if you haven't already done so please!! XD
Even though Haikuu always puts us on edge when it comes to results of the matches, if I am being honest, the moment they seeded the idea of Nekoma waiting for Karasuno to win, it was a sure win for me. They have been teasing the battle of the garbage dump for 3 season already, there was no way they would cuck us on that. Don't get me wrong, it was an epic finish of this game, but there was no doubt in my mind they would win. Also, in terms of statistics, so far, Karasuno never lost a match in which they won the 1st set.
I would really be glad if you would react to Chihayafuru, it's another really good sports anime but I think the chance of it to happen is far from reality.
Tsukki was the only one who witnessed hinata’s ball boy arc, so he knew he could receive it.
100%
Also, what Atsumu says when he sets: "This position. This timing. This angle. It's perfect", is the same thing Kageyama says in season one when they lose to Seijoh... by having their quick blocked.

There is a timer that will end on 13th August on the official haikyuu website. Maybe they will announce the next season.
Now I m depressed😔
When it faded out nd Hinata put it up in the air just made the moment very meaningful especially when he blocked the serve with Kageyama and when they won loved yalls reaction to it made my day.
THANK YOU LINDSAY FOR BELIEVING TO OUR BOYSS❤
yesss, tsukki funneling the ball to hinata, trusting he's going to get the ball up !!
Fun Fact the Ace for Inarazaki name is actually Alan but Japanese with the whole L/R pronunciation
WATCH RUN WITH THE WIND, SAME ANIMATORS AS HAIKYUU SEASON 1-3 AND AN EQUALLY GREAT CAST YOU'LL LOVE IT
You guys are so f*ing lucky man. You just caught up and they are probably going to announce season on 13th August.
5:25 no one really points this out but what we have here is a lunar eclipse
it's so hard not to buy all the haikyuu apparel available. I managed to fight temptation and only have mostly Tendo and Kenma hoodies and a few team shirts. But I want ALL the hoodies and jerseys and shoes and christmas sweaters.
It took me everything I had not to comment on every video where Carson said "We're gonna lose" with a me just saying "Are you sure about that?"
This episode needs to come with a warning 😂😂 it's a full body workout and heart attacks for everyone
So glad you guys finally get to see hinata's growth from the camp he's on another level now
If you guys notice, this is the same way karasuno lost against seijoh in the 1st season. It was the first time the twins used a back attack minus tempo which is what kageyama and hinata did for seijoh
this show is the only sports i need
Every reaction I see, after Tanaka's attempt to score: "Noya" "My Nishinoya". He was not even in when this was happening.
2024, 25 days till the final movie part 1 drops, and i can't wait.
i bet that if you ask the twins if they regret anything they did in the match they would answer : "Not a single thing, and i would do it all over again every single time".
And i will be completely honest here Karasuno win was not luck by any means. I still think this was a big upset and that most of the time in other parallel universes Inarizaki is winning the match.
Haikyuu fans like you guys too, thanks for the memories 👏
and looking forward to more stuff 👀
You should watch My Hero Academia next! The composers are the same for both shows, so you'll have some very familiar sounding tracks! And it's not an obnoxiously long anime!
From Tsuki doesn't care if he lose to this 14:05
Carson has probabaly watched Ping Pong the Animation but ill recommend that..
Great Teacher Onizuka
HunterxHunter
These are my picks..
im not sure how the first two are gonna do well in views but ill recommend it anyways..
This was really fun show watching with you guys..
For me inarizaki is the team that i love the most from any team in haikyuu except for karasuno
Not a single bad character in that team
Not the best match in the series the 2nd match against seijoh i think is the best
Now I can admit my Pepe laugh XD
Lol Carson couldn't believe
Back to back big games, oh boy be ready for the next season lol
But you were right, this was so extremely close. Karasuno shouldn't have won, if it wasn't for Hinata. Before the training camp he would only think about his next spike. Now he has the whole game in mind and the whole play field in sight. His spikes didn't decide this match, although they made it possible, but his two critical recieves and his tactical thinking made it happen.
Hinata true mvp!
Hi Haikyuu fan here, I recently watched Arcane and it was amazing so I'd love to see your reactions to it
Season 5 was leaked to be upcoming soon. So not gunna be waiting too long i’d imagine.
"Hinata is genius" -Carson
Nope. He is the sunshine of karasuno🥺
Omg you guys are so intertaining🤣 10:45 what magnitude is this🤣 this match is indeed so intense. Oh and i love your thoughts here 19:50
OMG, that was amazing, it reminded me of how hyped I was when I first watching this ep too!
If you were tense with this match, wait until you see the match against nekoma. Get ready for strong emotions
I would really be glad if you would react to Chihayafuru, it's another really good sports anime but I think the chance of it to happen is far from reality.
This show is something else!!
Perfection!!
Manga Spoilers..
Tbf tho, Karasuno was most probably going to Nationals if Hinata was on 100%.
3:20 That hot Berserk reference.
Hinata this episode: I'm the Main Character!
