    When I first started watching these videos I was a fledgling starting out in pub Zeus trying to become a decent pilot. 3 years and a unit later and you wouldn’t believe how much it buoys me up to see how much of this I had explored/discovered myself before this latest spate of videos. Happened to have been reading about the OODA loops recently as well so my smuggery at being ahead of the curve knows no bounds.
    I spend more time testing prospective pilots than flying myself now, and just saying ‘go watch art of flight, he explains it better than me with snazzier visuals’ is a common occurrence - one which I can use even more now you’ve covered this more advanced stuff I’ve been struggling to convey to the wide-eyes FNGs.
    Hail to the King of Milsim Pilots, long may he reign.

      Flying in this series is something unique given the tight integration of actual human infantry supported by actual human aircraft. There's a lot to learn, and it's a continuing process - there's always something to refine somewhere in what you do, or how you operate with others on your team. That up-front investment in watching this kind of footage is going to pay off, but it's nowhere near the end of it. Best of luck in your journey.

    Not considering yourself; who do you think is or are the better pilots in Shack Tac or are getting close to be? As a viewer it's hard to conclude, being dependent on what is shared.
    Maybe a top ten in random order?
    I'm also still curious how your real live experience of flying ended. I know it's been a while, but I never gave up hope on seeing the rest of it.

    Incredible video, simply Incredible, Dslyecxi. I absolutely love this series, but only now it has come to mind that I see you are using an Improved UI mod for cooperating with your CPG.(such as seeing where your CPG is aiming, as well as the Map View cone, I'd sell my liver for that, so we can finally stop using tactical ping). I presume it is private, but I would absolutely appreciate it, not that may matter much. Either way. Amazing video!

    • @dslyecxi
      @dslyecxi  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's difficult to release something like that for a few reasons, namely (a) I don't like maintaining public mods (b) Mods I write within ST are hooked into our framework and it's time-consuming to make them standalone (c) Mods we write within ST are based on our modset and don't necessarily work correctly when applied to an arbitrary modset, and we don't want to spread ourselves thin trying to support such

      @@dslyecxi Amazing! I was not expecting a reply, so thank you. And thank you even more for explaining. I see now, and this is enough justification not to release it. Saying "just release the entire framework lmao" would be disrespectful, but i think more of a "ima throw this there and let the community fix it and maintain" works better. Of course I know the feeling of keeping mods private since after all they are for friends. My old a2 group used to do that so i understand the perspective.
      Either way. Thank you for explaining Dslyecxi. Stay safe and keep on rolling!

    Pardon me: I'm noticing that your Observer has a compass displayed on their sight picture and I was wondering how that was accomplished? Is that a mod? Is it a piece of gear? I tried it on all the Aircraft shown, so I know it's not a default feature. I tried it with STUI even though it wasn't listed, and it wasn't listed for a reason, I tried the IHAADs helmet, and that wasn't it.

  • @veteran35th
    @veteran35th 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Dslyecxi, how as a TrackIR user, do you ensure that the grease spot in the LittleBird is actually where your bullets/rockets will hit? I guess that I move my head too much when flying and I usually have to reposition my head because bullets are either going slightly left or right (especially after a turn).

    • @dslyecxi
      @dslyecxi  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That'd be a matter of having a dead zone that you can easily recenter yourself into (physically). For ST, we use collimated sights in the Littlebird, so there's no parallax to worry about.
