Im 15 years old. I spent every single year in a tiny community along the northern peninsula in Newfoundland. At the end of summer 2010 my parents moved to Calgary and made me move with them. Everytime I miss Newfie land I listen to songs like this and it makes me alot happier. Whoever dislikes the rock has serious issues
People don’t have issues lol. You’re only 15 dude. I moved from Calgary to Newfoundland (Conception Bay South) when I was 15 in 2005 my parents (my mom not my dad) wanted to go back home. I like the fact I’ve got family back home but there’s nothing there for me. No money and nothing to do. I’m in Ontario now and I love it here. I’m making $1600-1800 a week. In Newfoundland my top wage was $20/hr lol
Awesome! lol good song for sure. However a lot of newfoundlanders have a hatred towards Canada. “Mainlanders” and so on... a lot of people say the island shouldn’t have joined federation (Canada). But the place would be nothing without Canada backing it
@@antikz3731My grandfather and grandmother on my dads side were born in newfoundland. Never heard that sentiment expressed by them or my relatives. And when I visited from Ontario they were all very friendly and welcoming. Just as many Canadian flags as Newfie tricolors.
@@AgxntAqua you'd have to have lived there for a while to understand. It's a place rich with resource and ripped of the profits. The gold mine is owned by a USA company, oil goes to feds and so on. There's a lot to be done there but generally most Canadians think it's a completely desolate place with nothing to offer. It could be quite the hub. I didn't mean anything bad really by the way just some views I've seen and heard is all
Btw I'm not saying you're wrong either. Absolute most genuinely kind people in Canada I can almost bet on it due to the sense of community that's embedded in Newfoundlanders like myself. Living in Ottawa now it's crazy people won't even hold the door most the time if you're right behind them
All my family is from Newfoundland but I've never been their. :O I live'd in Nova Scotia till I was 9 then my parents and I moved to Red Deer, Alberta, we lived their for 3years and couldn't handle not havin' the oceans around. So now I'm back home in Guysborough. I plan on goin' to Newfoundland this summer with my cousins, we better get err' done.
i am 14 years old my parents left newfoundland when i was 11 i miss there sooo much i cant fit in up here in halifax people think i talk funny cuz i got me aksent and i am a newfie where every i go for every and i am prowed to be one newfies ROCK:)
I'm 12, going to be 13 this year. I've never been to Newfoundland. I hope someday I go there. My mom was born in Ontario where we live, and my dad was born in Newfoundland. My mom's dad, is from Newfoundland and my mom's mom is from Nova Scotia. I asked her if I am half Newfie, she said maybe not half. I want to know more about my relatives and my heritage. I hope I get the chance to, someday. Edit: I'm 13 and a half now!
I've been to Newfoundland 2 times to see my family. And they're the sweetest people. If you can go in the future make sure you're old enough to be sworn in! Ya get to sing, drink then ya kiss a cod. Take in the sceneries and theres an actual plane crash from the cold war up in the mountains of Newfoundland. Ya need a good month to see most of the great stuff! Good luck and hope ya make it to the island!

It’s the opposite. People these days cry and claim it’s the same as the “n word” LOL!!! It was never derogatory by... it’s short for newfoundlander which is a lengthy word.
I have herd that Newfoundland is the only way, with a bit of a boat ride, you can drive to Ireland. Been widiwed a while. Might be time to find me a Newfi Girl.
