    Hands down best short game tips. I love how you get to the point and don’t talk about the “Why and If”, just the “How”. Brilliant!!!

    A thing of beauty! I have been struggling the hosels in bunkers lately. I’m a 6 handicap so it’s really not ideal. Your three release book and videos have massively improved my chipping but for whatever reason I couldn’t take it to the sand. I watched a few of your bunker lesson videos yesterday and went out to practice for an hour in the sand with great improvement. I don’t think I’m quite there yet but hopefully it’ll become second nature soon as I want to get sub 5 handicap!

      Two things. Some get too focused on the "hand action" while forgetting that this Release 3 is powered by the Body Rotation.
      Second, on R 3 (and also R 2) keep the Wedge Head "outside" the Hands during the Swing. Dan's Hinge is Radial Deviation of the Wrists.
      Right Hand Extension along with the Left Hand Flexion will tend to suck the Wedge too Inside and Behind you which can cause Pushes and/or Hosels because of too much "In to Out" Swing Path.
      Hope this Helps.

    Hey Daniel, listened to you on the Shiels podcast, bought your book and love every page of it. Great didactic approach. Makes me step with confidence in green side bunkers. Your writing style seems to work also for non native speakers!

    Love that. Strangely, I find ‘flat’ or no lip bunkers really difficult. Used to generating speed to pop the ball up but shots from that style of bunker just mess with my head.

      Watch Dan's Ball Flight here.
      The Ball only rises to between Waist high and Shoulder high.
      This Bunker is no more than Knee High.

    Is that an open face or square face? I have seen your videos recommend both face positions for standard bunker shots. Which is recommended on a standard sand shot?

    • @apaulmcdonough2170
      @apaulmcdonough2170 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Open vs. Square is Lie Dependant, so it's the Depth and Texture of the Sand in the Bunker.
      Soft/Deep Sand = Open
      Firm/Thin Sand = Square
      Opening Increases the effectiveness of the Wedge's Bounce Angle.
      If you look closely you can see the Wedge is set about 30° Open. Watch the Face just before and when Dan turns to Face the Camera.

    Hi Dan, found you via Gaz’s channel where you went through the three releases. Video saved and will be buying the book. My chipping coming on leaps and as a 25 H’cap often just off the green. Bunkers remain just get it out and back in play but that’s the next major focus as my club has 90 bunkers 😂
    Love your coaching style, some coaches I see ( and hear at the club) never shut up and it’s information overload

    I too bought the book. I had my best ever season. Quick question. Regarding bunkers, how soft should the grip pressure be on Dan' scale 2 or 3 ? Or does it depend on the type of sand?

    Release 1 & 2 work great for me but “release 3” becomes “early release” with lots of duffs as a result

    • @apaulmcdonough2170
      @apaulmcdonough2170 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This Video is Release 3.
      Release 2 is a better choice from Tight Lies than R3, when a R1 isn't the Better Choice because the upcoming Shot needs more Carry.
      Save R3 for grassy lies and sandy Bunkers.
