A thing of beauty! I have been struggling the hosels in bunkers lately. I’m a 6 handicap so it’s really not ideal. Your three release book and videos have massively improved my chipping but for whatever reason I couldn’t take it to the sand. I watched a few of your bunker lesson videos yesterday and went out to practice for an hour in the sand with great improvement. I don’t think I’m quite there yet but hopefully it’ll become second nature soon as I want to get sub 5 handicap!
Two things. Some get too focused on the "hand action" while forgetting that this Release 3 is powered by the Body Rotation. Second, on R 3 (and also R 2) keep the Wedge Head "outside" the Hands during the Swing. Dan's Hinge is Radial Deviation of the Wrists. Right Hand Extension along with the Left Hand Flexion will tend to suck the Wedge too Inside and Behind you which can cause Pushes and/or Hosels because of too much "In to Out" Swing Path. Hope this Helps.
Hey Daniel, listened to you on the Shiels podcast, bought your book and love every page of it. Great didactic approach. Makes me step with confidence in green side bunkers. Your writing style seems to work also for non native speakers!
Love that. Strangely, I find ‘flat’ or no lip bunkers really difficult. Used to generating speed to pop the ball up but shots from that style of bunker just mess with my head.
Is that an open face or square face? I have seen your videos recommend both face positions for standard bunker shots. Which is recommended on a standard sand shot?
Open vs. Square is Lie Dependant, so it's the Depth and Texture of the Sand in the Bunker. Soft/Deep Sand = Open Firm/Thin Sand = Square Opening Increases the effectiveness of the Wedge's Bounce Angle. If you look closely you can see the Wedge is set about 30° Open. Watch the Face just before and when Dan turns to Face the Camera.
Hi Dan, found you via Gaz’s channel where you went through the three releases. Video saved and will be buying the book. My chipping coming on leaps and as a 25 H’cap often just off the green. Bunkers remain just get it out and back in play but that’s the next major focus as my club has 90 bunkers 😂 Love your coaching style, some coaches I see ( and hear at the club) never shut up and it’s information overload
I too bought the book. I had my best ever season. Quick question. Regarding bunkers, how soft should the grip pressure be on Dan' scale 2 or 3 ? Or does it depend on the type of sand?
This Video is Release 3. Release 2 is a better choice from Tight Lies than R3, when a R1 isn't the Better Choice because the upcoming Shot needs more Carry. Save R3 for grassy lies and sandy Bunkers.
Hello ! I'm watching a pro video every day on Instagram ⁇ I've found and subscribed to TH-cam, thank you for uploading a good video ⁇ I want to buy a book but I'm sorry I do not have a Korean translation ⁇ I'm a pro fan.
Hands down best short game tips. I love how you get to the point and don’t talk about the “Why and If”, just the “How”. Brilliant!!!
Something about his teaching locks you in. Amazing person. Thank you.

Thanks and glad to know it is helping. If you get chance would be great if you could leave a review on Amazon. Best, Dan

Best coach for short game🙌🏽
Excellent advice, beautiful shot. 👌👍👍
Dan is this Release 2? Love the book. thanks

Watch Dan's Ball Flight here.
The Ball only rises to between Waist high and Shoulder high.
This Bunker is no more than Knee High.

your book is the best investment i've made in golf.
Thanks. If you get chance to leave a review on Amazon for it would appreciate it. Keep at it, best, Dan
The best in the business…
isn't changing club length going to cause contact point issues for us hackers? unless we dug our feet in enough to compensate
The Wide Stance and staying in the Extra Squat allows the Gripping Down.
Excellent....thnkx

Cant believe this content is free.
Release 1 & 2 work great for me but “release 3” becomes “early release” with lots of duffs as a result
This Video is Release 3.

Save R3 for grassy lies and sandy Bunkers.
Thanks Dan. The bunker is by far, my biggest weakness. Could use some help with an in depth video from your style of teaching.
Get my app! Loads on there
@@DanGrieveGolfawesome thanks Dan, will do that now
Dan, do the Americans know about you? 1st class coaching made easy to follow.
Southern California here.
Dan does have a following here in the States.
Hi Dan, love your videos. How do you hit same shot with there’s not enough sand in the bunker? Thanks
Look for Dan's "Cut Variation" of Release 1
hey @DanGrieveGolf, you're in Tarragona!
🐐
What about when the bunker sand is solid underneath the top level any advice?
What about long bunker shots
Hi what club, did you use.

Why I didn't hit the sand? Went low and weight all on left foot but missed the sand
How many tries to get that clip?
Just one. Had severe toothache this day wasn’t in the mood for lots of takes!
What’s the path out to in or in to out
Out to In. The Camera Angle is set on somewhat of an In to Out direction, towards the area of Grass to the Right of the Flagstick.
I know you know your stuff & the shot was executed to perfection but it does look kind of flippy that release position
Needed to activate the bounce for this soft sand and very short shot so needed release. Can release less and watch it run out more
Exactly! 🤟⛳️🏌🏾♂️
It's that easy unless you are 4 beers in
No lip on that bunker. Putt that all day long.
That Bunker is about Knee high.
What a rubbish chip, you missed 🙄🙄😂😂😂😂
Downed your club one shot penalty.
Good job it was just a coaching video then!
