I just relaized, the fantastic 4 powers are based on the 4 elements, water, air, fire and earth. So when Johnny was able to use the powers of the others in Rise of Silver Surfer, he became the avatar.
i agree i don’t think its impossible to make a good fantastic 4 movie you just need writers that care about the characters and understand them beyond the stereotypical views everyone thinks they are and you need to cast the proper actors who have the chemistry to feel like they are actually a real family and adapt doctor doom right because is past adaptions in the other live action movies are not who doom is at all
They need to show Reed Richards as the snartest man in the universe. His intelligence should be frightening. His family should hold him back, like they did in Hickmans run. If Reed lets loose and loses his morals, he would be a threat to the multiverse.
I always argue they should steal the Sentry's origin. The FF were active in the 60's (which would be a good opportunity to showcase earlier stuff, Reed working with young Hank Pym and Howard Stark etcetera) then an experiment gone wrong essentially erases them from history and the public's memories until they emerge in present MCU. So it's a little "fish out of water" scenario and they can comment on the current state of things.
I like the idea of Super Skrull as the villain but I disagree with you about the FF origin story being the major focus of the 1st Act. Better to tell it in a quick flashback rather than have it drag out through the first part of the film, that has been the mistake of the previous attempts. Another way to go would be to bring in the Negative Zone and bring in a tag team of Annihilus and Blastarar, the Living Bomburst as the heavies. I have given up anyone correctly doing Dr. Doom because he needs to be a mysterious menacing figure behind his mask, think Darth Vader. That's why he needs to be played by an unknown rather than a famous actor that will insist on having his face in close ups during every battle scene. Enjoy you channel!
The origin story could be told by a dynamic 10 minutes long introduction in which we learn about every character and flash out how they gained their powers
Could Spider-Man appear in at least one sequel? If anything, maybe the films could pull off another Thanos by giving us post credits scenes tying to either Dr. Doom of Galactus' impending arrival, and how big of a threat either will be seen as.
Great pitch. Me and you had the exact same origin idea. I would add on to it that it’s because Director Hayward of SWORD cancels the astronaut program during the blip that, that’s what causes the teams rushed planning into going out to space. Also I love how the finale is literally the end of incredibles.
My power ranking: 1. Human Torch 2. Invisible Woman 3. Mister Fantastic 4. Thing (Mr Fantastic over Thing because his mind is stronger than Thing’s physicality)
I like a lot your ideas, as they seem VERY well thought out. I also think that the family aspect needs to be the focal point of a well-written FF epic, and I think the best example would be a rewrite of FF #236, "Terror in a Tiny Town." The film starts off with the Four having fragmented dreams of who they really are, Reed being a befuddled college professor bedeviled by his boss. He has an accident which restores his memory, and has to convince the rest of the Four of their true identities (which takes care of the origin story aspect.) Once he does, the true villains are revealed to have been The Puppet Master and Doctor Doom, who are eventually defeated. By the film's end, Sue is pregnant and as Reed is discovering the Negative Zone, the team is being watched by Annihilus. The next film has baby Franklin kidnapped by Annihilus for his latent cosmic powers, which have grown exponentially and about to destroy Earth. To save all humanity, Reed has to shut down his mind, which levels his marriage and splits the team in half. Film 3 begins with Reed re-assembling the now-relucant team members due to Namor's threat to unleash undersea creatures on the surface world. Namor meets Sue, is entranced with her and feels genuine compassion for her plight concerning Franklin, and holds Reed responsible for what had occurred. They fight, but seeing Reed's inner torture because of Franklin causes her to work on trying to restore ther marriage. Meanwhile, Doom escapes capture and (as the Four face Namor) he gains access to the Negative Zone and summons Galactus, offers himself to be his new herald in exchange for Galactus to consume Earth's energy, BEGINNING with The Fantastic Four! This is barebones, I admit, and there's a LOT of history to cover with this team, yet if written well, it could be the series of films that could make this team live up to its name...FANTASTIC!
In an ideal world we’d get a fantastic 4 and doom movie each in tandem then they clash in a f4 sequel and doom gets defeated only to return for his secret wars greatness
I honestly think the FF is more mainstream than you give it credit for. My mother has never seen an FF movie and yet she knows their origin and doesn't even know how. I even asked a friend who doesnt like superheroes just to make sure it wasn't just my imagination when I say I think common audiences know who they are and what their basic powers and origin is. They've made countless cameos in things like MAD, and Robot Chicken and Family Guy, been referenced in movies, tv and music, I think the FF penetrated the mainstream a while ago. The video is still good and I wouldn't mind another origin cause I love them but I really disagree that the common person would not know their origin. Hell, I live in Italy and they're known.
I like this but here is my pitch , i want a villain that reflects reeds biggest fear, his failure, and no better villain to do that than himself, the maker , I know it sounds basic for the villain to be an evil version of himself but hear me out, what if this takes place on a ship where the F4 are lost in space, reed finds a way back home but cuz of a miscalculation gets his family killed and him stranded in a multiverse with scars , he meets rama tut , just like modok he weaponizes reed’s lose and his dark side to make him the maker and he is tasked with making sure the 616 reed never makes it back cuz he is the direct ancestor of he who remains, the maker would challenge the entire family on a deeper level and show reed what would happen if he failed.
Pffft… my prescious comic book movie about a guy with stretchy arms, a woman who you can see through, Dwayne Johnson, and a dude on fire exploring real issues and serious disabilities that need more awareness spread about them? No way Jose! Get outta town! (Great idea)
Use villains not used cannot be cheap, also should be a five movie franchise for character development and worthy villains, pick the best storylines from different decades. If only a movie to reintroduce T''Challa and Namor and Charles Xavier, definitely need the classic update of the origin movie. A great video well done Moleman, Galactus, Annihilus, Superskrull prefer the mission into deeper space testing a new space 🚀 ship.
Controversial but I REALLY don't want their first movie to have doctor doom. Maybe as a cameo, but not as the main villain. Doom is too big a marvel villain to be introduced right away with the F4, and we saw how Kang was treated in antman even though he's the big bad of the mcu right now. Imo I'd embrace the Fantastic Four's campiness and pick Mole Man as their first villain. Even if written well, Mole Man can work as a serious threat as well. The first F4 movie should be more grounded. Phase 5 suffered from all these huge event movies that went nowhere. I'm fine with having the F4 take on a more tame threat. I even have the perfect cast for Mole Man...Danny Devito
